Dateline: Minneapolis. In our 7 hour layover we are undaunted by light rail, public busses, and treks through alleyways as we hit Matt's for two Juicy Lucies and a pitcher of Summit. No better way to get acclimated to the states.

When the wire frame of my aviator sunglasses snapped at the temple, I thought I was sunk for sure. Then we found a local jeweler who had a shop with all the right tools. For 200 baht ($6 USD) he permanently repaired them in about 3 hours to factory quality. He let me inspect his expert work.

The cigar room at the Muse Hotel, Bangkok.
Worshipers present gifts and prayers at Erawan Shrine, a Hindu shrine in downtown Bangkok.
The public space at Lumpini Park where thousands are camped Shut Down Bangkok.
Back for more.
For the second day in a row we lunched at a mom and pop noodle stand where we had pork broth with fresh vegetables and delicious noodles. That and two large beers and a large cold water came to about $10 for the two of us.
