What just happened on CNN? Im at work and so wasn’t somewhere I could watch
Sure I’ll sum up.
So there was a very good peaceful protest by…. Lafayette Park? Right outside the White House. They were chanting, they had multiple reporters in the crowd, it was fucking CHILL, people were waiting for Trump to do a speech in the Rose Garden.
Then, out of nowhere, truly NOWHERE, the cops closed in from three directions and threw gas into the crowd. They used rubber bullets on the crowd IMMEDIATELY. One dude told the reporter “They don’t care about news, move.” They drove out the totally fucking peaceful, pre-curfew protestors.
They moved them all out, and Trump started speaking, and you could hear the fucking gas going off over his speech. CNN fucking did a splitscreen to show the peopple being shoved back as the motherfucker stood up there and said he would protect our rights and would mobilize the military against people.
Then back to the reporters, and everyone was forced further and further away. One woman on a bike told the reporter “They are getting the water cannons ready, you wanna move.”
TURNS OUT.
ALL OF THIS.
WAS BECAUSE TRUMP WANTED A PHOTO OP AT THE CHURCH ACROSS THE STREET. HE WANTED THEM OUT OF THE WAY SO HE COULD STAND WITH A BIBLE IN FRONT OF A CHURCH.
Even CNN is calling him a dictator, at 7PM.
Then the Illinois governor came out and called him a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic failure.
ETA: OH AND AFTER THE FACT one of the CNN ppl said that the cops claimed they gave three warnings to the crowd to disperse. There were reporters literally in the crowd, and didn’t mention hearing anything along those lines and where as shocked as anyone when the crowd was forced to move. So they’re fucking lying.

I am actually currently hating myself because I can’t seem to read but I’ve started Crescent City by Sarah J Maas and restarted Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling and I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, (I haven’t finished any of them)
2. What fictional character do you relate to most? Why? (I’m stealing this one cuz it’s good)
Oh gosh um. Remus Lupin? Bc I like tea and reading and am definitely in love with Sirius Black.

Not really, though I did play Minecraft a few days ago.
4. What is your favorite soundtrack?
Ooh um definitely either the Hamilton Soundtrack orrrrr The Umbrella Academy Soundtrack.

I’mma have to say wolfstar because I can’t really think before that. Maybe Romione?
6. Are there any books/movies/tv shows that you think heavily impacted your worldview? How so?
Oh that’s a good question… A Court of Thorns and Roses (the whole series) definitely covered a lot of heavy topics and I’d say that impacted me a fair bit.
7. What is your preferred method of communication (other than in person)?
Calling or Facetime. Our generation doesn’t really do anything other than text, but I just really like actually talking to people.
8. Describe your relationship with writing (in whatever terms you deem appropriate).
Oh gosh um. Writing is a lot of things to me, to sum it up I’d probably just say it’s like a vent. I basically write whenever I have like really strong emotions, like if I’m happy or angry, sometimes when I’m sad… But then it’s also just a hobby and something I do when I’m bored. I don’t know, it’s a bit of everything to me. If that makes sense.
9. How logical are you?
I like to think that I’m pretty logical? Like I think through things and try to be fair when I’m thinking and yeah idk, I’d say pretty logical.

Best thing: Not having to be in the freshman building. It’s a building that is primarily made up of freshman (first year of high school) students and lemme tell you, they are absolutely feral.

Not a band but my favorite artist would definitely be Grandson, he’s an alternative/rock artist and a very vocal advocate for human rights. I would highly recommend!

A very difficult question but probably a Pink Floyd song. Not only do I adore Pink Floyd but my dad and me have bonded a lot over our love of their music so it holds a special place in my heart

Definitely LOZ. I’ve really never had an interest in Mario games

A hard decision, but probably Subnautica which you can find on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Some honorable mentions are Detroit: Become Human, Skyrim, Terraria, and the original Tomb Raider games

Lakes because rivers and oceans are scary and pools are gross and the chlorine always damages my hair

yes. a lot. recently i rewatched Future Diary, and watched the Danganronpa anime. I would recommend the former, and reccomendation playing/watching a playthrough of the games for the latter. my favorite has to be Assassination Classroom.

hmmm at the moment it's between The Girl In 2A and Johnny Got His Gun. Both are very good psyche horror novels, one focusing on destiny and the human mind, and one on the corruption and ideals behind war.

For the people with no attention spans that might be anxious about doing this: be honest about it- if your attention span is dwindling, speak up and just tell them “gimme a sec, attention span” then take a breather until you can focus again.
I do this a lot. I don’t feel good about it but I also want my friends to understand that I need to scroll my phone every few minutes so I can refocus and give them as much of my attention as possible.
