What ideas u have 4 eli or kate in your ya rewrite?
Oh I've got a lot for them, individually and together
Both Eli and Kate operate as the leaders of the team in the V1 era, though in the sense that they both should be the one and only leader - Eli because he's been on the team since day one and because Nate, Billy, and Teddy agreed out of the four of them he had the most leadership qualities, and Kate because she came in and sort of rescued the team when they were going to quit cause the Avengers said so, she made them new costumes, new codenames, and frankly thinks she can lead better than most of the boys
Because of this, they're ALWAYS fighting, and no one can tell if they enjoy being at each others throats or if they just can't help themselves
They also both have feelings for Tommy but at first it's separate and they hide that he's both their rebound, but somehow it becomes a sort of polyamerous situation??? It's complicated and my friends and I have jokingly refered to them as the accidental throuple lol
After Eli leaves the team after Cassie's death, Kate holds a lot of resentment towards him because she thought, despite all their fighting, they were in it together, and when she becomes the sole team leader in V2 she secretly misses him and their dynamic as co-leaders
Over the years she's tried numerous times to convince him to come back to superheroing, siting it as "just a joke" or "just teasing" but it's really not cause she really misses him just as a friend in general and misses how the team used to be before things got all complicated (even though they were really always complicated)
And whenever she tries to convince him to come back, Eli just tells her he's moved on from superheroing and that she should too, his view on it all being that it's not healthy for any of them to keep doing this, physically or mentally
Will he eventually return to being a superhero again? Of course, but it takes a while and that difference in opinions about being a superhero puts a wedge between Eli and Kate, and Eli and the rest of the team in general
Also for the record, the two of them work better as friends than in a relationship, but teenagers are messy and dumb sometimes :p
