A poem for my 24th birthday, adulting has hit me harder than I thought.
I went home on my birthday Greeted by a cold, unfamiliar breeze I was overwhelmed by the chills Running down my curved spine Rather than the warm nostalgia of my small city I looked around the bus station hoping to catch a familiar face But I felt lost like the tourists lining up the terminal exit In that moment, I felt like a foreigner in my hometown.
