your abortion posts got me thinking about contraceptives, and whether konoha would invest their time in creating them. because, on the one hand you want your population churning out more babies.
on the other hand, you don't want your top seduction agents falling pregnant constantly. not to mention, contraceptives could be used to delay or even prevent menstruation, which is important when you've got super trackers who can smell blood from miles away.
and it's not like people who get periods can just, only take C-ranks for that week, cause surely some of them are going on months long missions.
On one hand I want to say they’d exist but be highly regulated for just seduction specialists, but I think shinobi in general are forced to adapt to any situation including combat specialists choosing seduction routes at the turn of a dime if they think it’s best for the mission
also, if someone managed to rape Kakashi or Itachi or lit anyone like that I’d rather kms than have their bastards pop up years later on the opposite side of the battle field. Like bro I’m already dead atp.
So I wanna say konoha men would have some rly fucking stellar methods like Uzumaki seals or something because the last thing konoha wants is their prodigy’s kids showing up elsewhere.
But the women would prob have less good/ more regulated stuff bc they kinda either get taken as baby makers if they’re clan (in which case they have a duty to kill themselves and have consistently done so everytime it’s happened bc they’re ninja and can rip their own hearts out) or give birth in konoha where they add to the ranks
But yeah stuff for periods would make sense. I think I read a fic where there was a seal tattooed on the hip to collect the blood inside it or something like that.
Kind of a separate idea that I think I posted about before cuz as much as I like the idea of shinobi being vry casual about sex because of their everything, part of me finds it rly interesting if it’s all very abstinence based where it’s considered Your Duty to not fuck around outside of konoha and Shameful if you do. Maybe some heavy propaganda about women from other places being dirty or somehow lesser.
And in an interesting role reversal, men being especially shamed for sleeping around outside the village because at least women know if anything comes of it and can contribute to the numbers if it does.
