This isn't a Trump exclusive thing, nor does this line of thinking always work. Since the introduction of neoliberalism in the USA by Jimmy Carter, public education has been defunded, and education has become more privatized and more reliant on businesses for educational materials. A recent major change is the shift of SATs online, where the quality has declined significantly. This leads to poorer education overall.

This statement also forgets how fascist states instill state-friendly propaganda into their education programs. The largest in recent history is American education either the absolute avoidance of America's conquests in the Middle East or the focusing solely on 911 as a defense of the wars. Education also begins with washing away the offenses the USA committed/is committing; it is common in school education that it leaves out the leftist beliefs of the leaders of America's progressive movements. MLK was a socialist; Malcom X was a communist; the Black Panther Party was anti-capitalist and had close ties to Palestinian resistance groups. It also neuters the Progressive movements of their successful violent resistance and the violence by the state they faced; for instance, cops bombed a house of a Black Liberation group, which had children inside. Then they didn't allow firefighters to put out the fire ensuring the destruction of the neighborhood in a fire. This revisionism is still as fascist as the destruction of education and should be recognized as just as harmful.
