the tragedy of tumblr is you will inevitably meet people who you should be having a sleepover with. you should be rolling around on their floor and rummaging through their fridge and watching shitty movies with. you should be shopping with should be going out to a cafe with should be wandering through the aquarium with. people who you should be experiencing quotidian joys with... and you cannot! because they live one million miles away
"If they are not choosing you it is not love, if you are not a priority it is not love, if you have to ask "is this love?"
It is not love.

done healing my inner child. next up is my inner teen. her highness demands a sword.
Day 13
It’s becoming harder without the beloved quotev feed. Every night I yearn to ramble meaningless garbage for all my fellow peers. They must know the what the ceaseless voices in my mind say to me. Alas, for they shall now never know, due to the heartlessness of such Lord Quotev Admins, a cruel dictator with no care for his people
We have been up in arms since he took away our rights and freedoms however it proves no yield. Lord Quotev Admins is determined to make us suffer for his own sick amusement. We have scattered in the wind like flies but one day I hope we can all return to the glory of our homeland
imagine if tumblr removed blogs and thats basically what quotev did
my artistic interpretation of the fall of Quotev
WHERE TF IS THE FEED
Quotev getting rid of the activity feed is my actual worst nightmare now I can't ramble aimlessly and have people see it
#rambling on here is not the same#also how am i supposed to message people#give people links to my drafts#since you clearly don't do shit about plagiarism i am now screwed#gdi
I've seen several Quotev users express this sentiment that rambling on Tumblr is just different somehow from rambling on Quotev. I've never used or visited Quotev, so over the past few hours (literally found out about all this last night) I've just been trying to put together an idea of what it was like from bits and pieces that former Quotev users have shared here, but this one is something I still don't quite get. I think we might be talking past each other a bit, using the same words to describe different ideas. Do you think you could describe why you feel like you can't ramble on Tumblr like you did on Quotev? We'd like to help you get comfortable here.
Tumblr does have a private-messaging system, unfortunately I don't think we have any sort of equivalent for sharing draft links.
Many people have already expressed what made it different, but I'm going to elaborate further with the explanation on why it's a difficult transition for me.
I established many close relationships with multiple users over the years on Quotev. I am also a writer on the website, and that has always been the primary way I share my original work with people. Sharing my writing on here seems a lot more difficult than it is on there (maybe I just haven't utilized tags properly but it just never felt the same) and now I feel like I have no way to properly communicate with my readers. Quotev removing messages completely gets rid of my ability to talk with people who want to discuss writing with me.
As for the ramble part, like others have said, there was an option to only share your posts with the people you follow and the absence of that is hard. I didn't have to worry about being "professional" or that the things I would post might be misinterpreted when it was only being shared with people who've known me for many years and have come to understand my personality and not misread the things I say. I also did like just screaming into a void but knowing some friends would see it. It's hard to completely express the differences. Others who've reblogged my post have done a better job of it.
Something to commemorate the downfall
Anyway, I guess I'll officially identify myself on here. So I'm Ky from Quotev and this is a sideblog (any likes will be coming from my main blog)
I am still not over the update. It's actually the worst. Guess we're all just going to be on here trying to figure out how to navigate a new setup. Isn't it lovely.
raise a glass to the posts you love that end up deleted. to the fanart and fanfics you lose track of and can’t locate. to the blogs you used to look through that ended up unexpectedly disappearing. to the things you didn’t archive because you always assumed they’d be there.
This is why reblogs are important. They keep circulating posts even when the blogs are long gone.
And this is why telling artists/writers/creators their work matters means so much. You might be the only one who says it.
It is entirely too easy to get tired or despondent or feel worthless and just give up.
