“No!” She said instantly before regretting it. “I mean…not today, no.” Did that really sound better? Camille hoped so. “You can…you can come in..” she mumbled before moving back so he could enter. “Just, like, don’t judge me. I’m still moving in!” The room was ice cold but she couldn’t really help that.
Jack did his best not to shiver, and he had to say he did a pretty darn good job of it. At least here in Oregon this time of year it was just as cold outside; in Florida, Cami’s natural climate was a little bit of a shock. “When would I ever judge you?” he asked, and that much was honest. Jack had seen and heard entirely too much in his life to be mean about Cami as she figured out her space. “It’s, like, so new, right? Moving out?” He sat down and got comfortable, smiling at Cami wide and bright. “I love it.”
