Hello! I’m Star. I go by any pronouns, preferably they/them.
Main interests right now: Marvel, Star Wars, Malevolent, Red Dead, Magnus Archives, among others.
Asks: Open for anything really, media related or not. If I don’t want to answer something I won’t.
Socials: My user is ThatStargazingAquarius on any social I have, but for convenience sake here are links to my TikTok and Ao3.
I’m anti-AI. If you support/use generative ai do not interact with me. I’ll just block people.
My queue is entirely for reblogging fanart! It posts three times a day and what fandom it’s from is a mixed bag.
My pfp is drawn by my lovely friend CraftyFallenFox! You can find their tumblr here, but they’re more active on Twitter and BlueSky. Yes it’s a Sonic oc.
I also run @the-winter-soldierr and @the-alpine-barnes so if you’re an rp blog that’s why I’m following you. I also have an oc @cecelia-fairchild but she’s on a hiatus that’s probably not going to end :(
Winter has slowly been getting better since the Green Goblin… everything. He was still blaming himself for all of it, but he was getting better! Except Bucky still wasn’t coming back… even with Sienna going into their mind, trying to draw him out… Winter has yet to hear a word from him.
So Winter was currently in the lab, a handful of screens up as he watches old war footage of Bucky and Steve. He doesn’t know what else to try at this point. He doesn’t notice when someone enters the lab.
Two guys came in dressed as Spider-Man I’ve finally had my movie theater canon event 😭
I asked if they were here to see Odyssey :D
Also they were broke we had to spare them a dollar so they could get one of our Spider-Man cups 😭😭😭
One was like full costume the other was just a mask. The full costume one said the other was Peter B Parker because he wasn’t committing to the bit. And he said he was had arachnophobia and I brought up Man-Spider and he glared at me so hard
do you have any recs for someone who wants to read Bucky comics 🙏
// OKAY YAY!! Hi! Hello! If you’re looking for anything pre-Winter Soldier aka pre-2005, I’m not your guy. But!! Anything after that I’ve read pretty much everything with him as the main character. So I’m just going to tell you everything because except for like two things I liked all of it.
First off, Captain America 2005 by Ed Brubaker. This is where Winter Soldier was first introduced, which after WS arc goes into Civil War, then Death of Captain America and Bucky’s time as Cap. Wonderful place to start and it’s where I personally started.
Winter Soldier: Winter Kills is a one shot that happens during Civil War. It’s Bucky’s first Christmas after being freed.
2008’s Avengers/Invaders has time travel nonsense where the Invaders are brought from WWII to post-Civil War New York. I highly recommend this one it’s really good.
After that Winter Soldier 2012, also by Brubaker. This is some prime WinterWidow.
Bucky Barnes: Winter Soldier 2013 happens here, but I personally have not read it and I haven’t heard that it’s all that good? Bucky basically takes over Nick Fury’s Man on the Wall position after he dies.
Winter Soldier: The Bitter March is a short run from 2014 set during the Cold War, so we actually get to see the Winter Soldier in action.
Black Widow 2016 is also peak WinterWidow <3
Thunderbolts 2016 is Bucky’s first time as the leader of the Thunderbolts, which also leads into Secret Empire (ew). On the plus side it has Kobik! WinterDad is everything in this run.
Winter Soldier 2018 is the first appearance of Alpine! Though she isn’t named yet. It’s a 5 issue run and it’s really good, I highly recommend it.
Tales of Suspense: Hawkeye and Winter Soldier is really good too, and is like prime platonic WinterHawk.
2019’s Strikeforce is a really odd group of people but it’s still enjoyable. It’s Bucky, Blade, Angela, Wiccan and a few others I’m blanking on rn :(
Invaders 2019 is a lot of fun. I really like Bucky and Namor’s relationship and this is really good on it. It’s also written by Chip Zdarksy and I personally really like a lot of his writing.
Falcon and Winter Soldier from 2020 follows Sam and Bucky as they chase after Zemo, so it’s similar to FATWS in that and that only. Also Alpine is named finally here!
Devil’s Reign: Winter Soldier kicks off Bucky’s next arc, aka the Revolution arc. I haven’t read Devil’s Reign itself yet but this can be read on its own. Bucky sneaks into Kingpin’s place to find Fisk’s file on him.
Captain America Sentinel of Liberty from 2022. If you read anything, READ THIS ONE. Revolution Bucky is imo his best era. It also runs hand in hand with Captain America Symbol of Truth, which is Sam’s run. They converge at the end for Cold War. I highly recommend reading them both.
Next is 2023’s Thunderbolts run, where Bucky leads a team to kill Red Skull.
Thunderbolts: Doomstrike takes place during One World Under Doom, and it’s so so so good.
The New Avengers run from 2025. Skip it. It’s ass. Everyone in that run is horribly mischaracterized.
That brings us to current day, with Avengers Armageddon.
It's funny because the Narrator is this really nuanced and tragic figure who was so afraid of death (not even for his own sake, but for everyone else's) that he literally tore the universe apart in order to "save it" and bring everyone his idea of bliss, which is incredibly fascinating and compelling, but on the other hand he is this
There are only 6 fics in the Norman Osborn/Tony Stark tag on ao3. This is a deeply missed opportunity for old man yaoi and co-parenting (and, as Ant said, pose-offs)
I too was in shock when I checked while we were pushing for Tony/Norman 😭 I thought they’d be way more popular since I’m pretty sure they have some weird ass tension in the comics. I wish I could verify that but I haven’t read any Iron Man yet
