Hello all, I am Shelby. Euw. I prefer Anji, and sometimes my friends call me Trinks. Whichever you prefer I suppose... Anyways, I am eighteen years old, I graduate from High School this year. I love Movies, Music and Art. My hero is Dolly Parton and she inspires/ motivates me on a daily basis. I am a stick in the mud sometimes, and my blog will forever be random. Somethings you may find though.. Tim Burton Related Things, Helena Bonham Carter, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Hayffie, Anything Julie Andrews, Marilyn Monroe, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand. Or just things I love in general. Tata :D Previous names (That I remember): thelifeicovett, insane-lestrange, mahoganyxqueens, hello-marionette, marionette-queen,
sssssstop telling girls about what guys prefer in a woman oh my god like who CARES what men like? their opinion is not going to change the fact that the girl wants shorter hair or a whole bunch of makeup or a thigh gap. dont try to change her mind by telling her what boys like because thats just giving the male gaze even more power over women and its shitty let girls do what they WANT without thinking of how boys will feel about them because of itÂ
THIS is how you do genderbends. There is NO reason to sexualize their costumes or their poses unless youâre going for a porn thing (perfectly acceptable). The only costume thatâs really been changed at all is Bruceâs and all theyâve really done is exchanged the pants for a pencil skirt. Not a mini-skirt. A pencil skirt.
Also the fact that Natâs costume is completely unchanged on the male version just goes to show how little the original is sexualized, despite what people think. Itâs figure-hugging, yes. So is Capâs, so is Clintâs, so is Tonyâs for that matter. Hulk strips down to a pair of ripped shorts, for christâs sake. It looks like her butt is emphasized because Scarlett happens to have a banginâ ass that looks good in a cat-suit. If she had a flat butt, it would look flat.
This is abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. Especially everyoneâs hair.Â
The decision to keep Fury bald is just amazing. One thing about super-ladies that really bothers me is that they always have this mass of hair that is just begging to be grabbed by some assailant or getting in their face. Lady Thorâs braids are also fantastic, very true to Norse tradition, and Lady Tonyâs hair is perfect.
I firmly believe that the reason many Slytherins were easily convinced to join Voldemort was because they were treated like shit by the rest of the houses while they were growing up. Imagine spending seven of the most important years of your life being told that you were part of the bad house and therefore bad yourself. Everyone boos your quidditch team. All the houses will hang out with everyone except you. You grow up being hated by your fellow students and many of your teachers.
Now imagine someone comes along and tells you that youâre not worthless and bad. That youâre invited to join a family where you will right the wrongs committed against you. You have the opportunity to be wanted and powerful instead of a hated outcast. Several of your former classmates are telling you how great it is. How youâre welcomed and needed. These are the kids you grew up with. The classmates who went through all the same things you did. Being a Death Eater sounds pretty good now.
Iâve been waiting for a post like this.
I was always bothered by the scene at the end of book 7, when the students are asked whether they want to fight the incoming Death Eater army. The Slytherin students are all like, âUh. No?â And theyâre treated like terrorists for it. In the movie, theyâre even locked in the school dungeons while everyone cheers.
Did nobody stop to think and realize that if the Sytherin students had stood and fought, they would have been facing their own parents on a battlefield? Even if some of them werenât really on board with the whole Death Eater thing, expecting them to fight was just cruel. They were children. The oldest of them were seventeen. Babies. And their own professors were asking them to shoot illegal killing spells at Mum and Dad.
Imagine you are a Slytherin and you are staying behind to defend your school and maybe restore some honor to your House. The other students are all giving you mistrustful glares. You know theyâre waiting for you to start hitting them in the back with stunning spells. You consider doing it, too, because youâre already starting to regret the choice you made.
Then the battle begins, and you are up against a crowd of strangers who arenât strangers at all. You recognize voices, muffled behind masks but still piercingly familiar. Your uncle. Your cousin. Your best friendâs big sister.
And then you see a tall man in expensive grey robes. A moment later you notice the small, curvy woman next to him, wand ready. They are guarding each others backs.
