In the year 2000, magic returned to the world when a distant star went supernova, creating a bigger wave of energy than intended called the Grazing Bang. This mutated 91% of the population into different mythological beings and forced many old gods that were still active out of hiding. In the years that came, massive upheaval happened across the globe. After the first decade the new gods came into the world and provided some form of order but there are still tensions with many of the old gods, each having their own agenda. Made worse when as citizens find the way to just barely touch the title of god. The Cyber Punks came and went, sold out, or could not update to the modern day. Bio Ska and organic tech is the new future, one with much potential and even more gates that keep people out. And like its namesake, there are waves that come and go.

Setting details out of the way: my name is Sol. I go by Sol Rabbit, or just Sol. I am also the mod of @askbohemiancompany and @omnipokemonproducts

This blog is a depository for brief writing snippets and posts relating to commissions involving the Bio Ska setting.

The content of this blog will be considered R-Rated as it can deal with acts of violence, some sexual content, themes of abuse, body dysphoria and varying types of bigotry.

These two have been on my mind as of late. So, I commissioned @dragons-and-art to draw the lines for this piece, which I then colored. Dray mentioned she enjoys drawing characters with massive size differences, and this looks perfect for it.

Cosplay over the years

One thing Lenox started doing after 8 years of working at the Gnos & Rag, and getting promoted, Lenox decided to start a charity drive for different children's hospitals. In addition to gift baskets, people can make Lenox wear a certain costume the employees of Gnos & Rag vote on for Halloween.

Lenox deliberately sets the goals immensely high, always at six figures, in order to try and not wear the costumes on certain years. Sometimes, they hit that milestone to Lenox's pleasant surprise, which can also be followed by a looming dread depending on what won that year.

This is to supports the many hospitals that helped her younger adoptive brother for different treatments due to his multiple health issues. This is what she reminds herself of when she has to wear whatever costume she does not like.

Her favorite is the year Rogue was picked, as she had a crush on her as a child (Len will deny this). It was one of the few times she actually felt pride in wearing it, especially since she almost got cold feet about wearing it.

I decided to color that bonus piece I commissioned from @dragons-and-art

I think I am getting the hand of general shading and some general brush settings. Moving forward, I want to do this more with 85% of the comms I will pay for. Coloring is actually pretty fun to do.

After the new blood rolls in and 20-30 years pass, Lenox would naturally become an older vet of the company. In her new role, she becomes the drill sergeant and head of recruitment for the company. There she would gain the nickname, and call sign Mama Bear.

As a drill sergeant, she is very stern, commanding, and scary for those who would act up, living up to the bear half of the moniker. She does not tolerate any kind of slacking off, nor anything that could put a team member in risk, even in combat drills. The way she dresses down people for mistakes that can hurt/kill other teammates is something no one wants to be on the receiving end of. Even people who are not on the receiving end of her tranquil fury, have their hearts sink at how bad the person gets chewed out for. Her bear form is seldom used, except for very special instances of discipline.

Lenox's attitude as a recruiter is vastly different. She is welcoming to new recruits, making sure to promote an open air of acceptance within the PMC. She is always the first to speak to Freddy whenever he tries a half-baked, or a bad idea involving any employee activities that make people uncomfortable. Lenox is often mistaken for someone who works in human resources. She is also the only reason any charities are willing to associated with Gnos & Rag at all, because Lenox handles all charity drives herself, and a select group of vetted volunteers.

This has garnered her a few admirers from the employees, as they consider her the most welcoming in the company and mother figure. Getting too comfortable around her though can be extremely dangerous, especially if someone says something out of pocket that hits close to home for her. That is how the bear half will slip out.

Even as Len gets older, Brittany will still find a way for Len to be her personal teddy bear. Brittany always manages to come up with new pet names for Lenox, each new one getting worse.

I know people give me odd looks. My legs, my abilities, my demeanor. They whisper behind my back their fear, their disgust and pity for me.

What they do not know is that I am very aware of what they say behind my back. People who thank me for saving them, will say I am unnerving or that I am sickening to look at.

I'm a disgrace to my kind. I did not choose to be a curupira. I should go back to where I came from and never return. Who do you think exiled me to your country? You are rich enough to have bio-organics, you should augment yourself. I did, but not in the area or ways you wanted.

Yet for all they complain and judge me; I don't give a damn. I'm proud of my looks, my subset, what I have done, and what I am capable of. They seem to think I have ruined my life by replacing most of my organs with plants. I have altered my life, but I did not ruin it. I feel like

Name: Edlyn Nodens

Species: Fae-Subset Insmuth

Occupation: Boutique Manager,

Affiliations: Ocean Avenue Boutique, Violet Fight League, Gnos & Rag (as a freelancer)

History: The owner of Ocean Avenue Boutique, who moonlights as an underground cage fighter at night. She has been operating both the boutique, and fighting for well over a decade since her early 20's. For a while she was able to keep both in separate spheres until one of her employees was kidnapped by a disgruntled rival fighter, and their small pose.

Despite trouncing all 3 and saving her employee, eventually she started to become the subject of a media blitz manipulated from the same rival. Any coverage of her being a hero for saving her employee would be drowned out by framing her as someone who mutilated her face, and participated in an illegal underground fighting ring.

After all of this, she occasionally works with Lenox as private security for her and Brittany when the former started getting older, while still trying to run her boutique with Grohl's assistance. When doing mercenary work, she uses the call sign, and alias Urami.

Powers and abilities: As an insmuth, she has enhanced arm strength when it comes to motions involving her elbow. Due to having the club variant as arms, she is capable of delivering crushing blows capable of shattering bone, and even blowing off slam joints. The limitation of this ability is that the strength is only applied when it is a strike involving the unfurling from a bent arm position. This often leads to a predictable fighting style where if you keep on eye out for forward punches and backhands, it can at least be avoided.

Elemental Magic: Edlyn has access to ice and metal magic.

Personality: Edlyn is at first glance, a very traditionally feminine woman, knowing matters of fashion, carries the air of being a socialite. She acts mature around general company, many comparing her to a matron who keeps an eye out for new members of a social scene, while also having interest in having information on others.

Look deeper, you will find a confident woman who knows of her strength and will show it off when appropriate to do so. She has pride in being an insmuth and reputable fighter at that. In her fights, she will lean into her seductive socialite persona, having an air of smugness making her both a face and heel depending on her opponent. In private with Grohl, she leans into the seductive side as her way of showing affection.

Despite this confidence, she is very insecure over her relationship with Grohl. While she loves him a lot, she worries she constantly makes Grohl look bad due to her short stature, to whom many people have confronted Grohl thinking he is having a relation with someone who is young. Edlyn also worried about how she is already halfway through her expected lifespan, making her essentially middle-aged compared to Grohl. Other insmuth have also accused her of dating Grohl to have him as a trophy boyfriend. In instances like these, Grohl is always quick to defend her in these instances, as she does him.

Her other flaw is her violent, explosive anger. While she is good at keeping herself in check, when she is mad, Edlyn will start swinging. Calling Grohl a pedophile is the easiest way to enrage her, letting loose with all of her strength. If someone is on the receiving end of her wrath in a fight, she becomes a brutal pragmatist who will also aim her punches to blow off limbs, or kill outright with a punch.

Gnos and Rag Members(post rebranding): Grohl De Palma and Gwendolyn Baek Pung

Origin of Rebranding: After Freddy's participation in the first Baal war and he proved his ability as a killer of god adjacent beings, he decided to expand the scope to a private military contractor. This decision was a devil's bargain, as multiple staff members quit over time out of protest.

Decades have passed since the rebranding, and now there is a new generation of new blood into the company. All the characters below are born after the year 2000's. However, their ages will be kept vague to hid how far out they are.

Name: Gwendolyn Baek Pung

Species: Fae-Pucca Subset

DoB: September 21st

Occupation: Gnos & Rag Assault team member

Affiliations: Gnos & Rag, Red Room(honorary, but does not associate with them)

History: The company dread knight who specializes at strengthening herself with people’s anger towards her. This talent got the attention of the demon Lucifuge Rofocarept, who as a fiend of spite decided to try and possess her for their own gains. Eventually the two form a parasitic relationship. While she is private on her past and most matters off the clock, she does form a trio of regulars with Grohl, and Edlyn, who are known to drink a lot and tend to get into fights with thugs.

Her reason for joining Gnos & Rag is her respect for Lenox. Their first meeting was memorable

Powers and abilities: As a dread knight, she has the ability to pull from other people's negative emotions to strengthen herself. The one she chooses to pull from is anger. She uses this to make sure her bullets hit their target from, to track them, and even to cause magic to fail by way of chaos magic. This has taken a number on her personality, where she has a tendency to act in self sabotaging ways to keep herself at max power during missions.

Due to being possessed by Lucifuge Rofocarept, she gains the following additional abilities per the nature of her pact.

Gwen can also lend out abilities to people, as long as they make a deal with her and Lucifuge. The following abilities were lent out to the following people.

Buer- Knowledge and use of herbs and plants. Given to Grohl to help his unnatural ability to create artificial flora.

Marbas- Force Transformation. Given to Yumi to enable her fighting style.

Personality: Gwen is a very teasing personality, deliberately saying things to annoy, anger, and embarrass people in order to make herself stronger. She sees teasing and bullying people as both fun, but also important for her missions. As she becomes more acclimated to someone, she does like to tease them as her way of showing affection. The time she started teasing Lenox was something Lenox caught onto and turned the tables on her by calling this out. To which Gwen became insanely flustered, almost reverting to the nervous wreck when she first met Lenox.

Despite how mean she can be to the uninitiated, Gwen will not cross specific lines, namely something that would make someone sad. When this happens, she always makes it a point to make it up to them, or stop antagonizing all together.

After being possessed by Lucifuge, she began to develop anxiety over Lucifuge acting out against her wishes. This fear is so severe, that she gives Grohl and Edlyn permission to hit her if Lucifuge ever says something to them while they are in control.

Name: Grohl de Palma

Species: Cambion- Curupira

DoB: March 22nd

Occupation: Explorer, Head of intelligence for Magic of the World/Gnos & Rag, SPOILER

Affiliations: Gnos & Rag, SPOILER

History: A drifter from Brazil who after years of being mocked and pitied for having backwards feet, he made his name for himself in Gnos and Rag as the new head of security after Lenox was promoted to drill instructor and HR. He developed the reputation of being aloof and unsettling to the staff, despite not doing much to antagonized anyone. This aloofness actually attracted Gwen to him, who initially wanted to use him as a means of building up strength, but he remained unbothered he would be no matter what she said. Eventually, the two began talking about matters other than volleying jokes at each other, and became friends.

One of the other reasons is, internal organs have been replaced with a plant based organ system. Even the bio-punks think he was insane for doing this, since plant based bio-organics tend to be best in smaller parts. This has restricted his diet to other plants, fluids and minerals. Grohl was born with the ability to create plant life, but became stronger after absorbing a core from one of Kelv Rion's kaiju's, bringing him close to the level of a demigod. The mages across the world also desire to study him, since someone being able to create and manipulate plant life is something no one should be able to do.

Powers and abilities: Plant generation and control- Grohl is an anomaly in the Bio-Ska setting by being able to control, manipulate, and most importantly, create plant life. This ability has gone as far as being able to create small plants in barren wastelands. This does not mean the plants can survive without required resources, but he is capable of deindustrializing a city fairly easily. Not to mention, this affects Grohl's diet to the point where he can only eat or drink specific fluids, or fruits.

He can use this new body structure to grow vines from his body, as well as use them to create seedlings he can use to see others as if they are security cameras. Grohl can also imbue his seeds with magic in order to make them explode, drain someone’s life force, and set them as tracers to follow people.

Personality: On the outset, Grohl comes off as aloof, preoccupied in thought and indifferent to those around him. Anytime someone says something about his legs or something about his anatomy due to the plant structure, Grohl will always go into graphic detail. This serves to discourage people from asking rude or insensitive questions.

Underneath the indifferent and laid back demeanor is someone is defensive of those he loves. Grohl's love for Edlyn is very earnest and sweet, but also he gets defensive whenever Evelyn is accused by other insmuth of treating him as a trophy boyfriend, or when someone mocks her as broad chested or mannish. Both comfort one another about their respective body issues, and assure one another they are both beautiful no matter what.

Given the last post, here are the two Pras interacting together. In this setting, Pras is a demi-god in their own right and someone who wanders the world experiencing mis/adventures. Both are dating, however the relationship has highs and lows.

The lows are that whenever Kenny bares his feeling and opens up to Pras, sometimes they will completely under react, or react poorly to those moments. The other issue being Pras being on their own quests often leaves Kenny alone, never knowing when Pras will come around. Finally, Kenny's anger issues has caused conflict with others in public, with Pras having to become the consistent mediator. Pras has even had to block Kenny's blows during a particular nasty fight with Brittany. They are also a fan of Brittany, which Brittany constantly uses against Kenny.

The highs are Pras is always making it a point to meet up with Kenny when both are traveling. Even if Pras cannot always respond appropriately towards certain emotional moments, they always move mountains to make it up to him. Kenny also recognizes that they have helped him lighten up in certain moments, and appreciates Pras' weird yet adventurous spirit. Pras appreciates someone who has stayed patient with them as Kenny has, as well as how affectionate Kenny is, with Pras never on the receiving end of his anger.

That said, he will express displeasure when Pras asks Kenny to get autographed merch of Brittany as seen above.

Not only is there one Pras, but there are 2 now!

This is Kenny Adriens, the Bio-Ska counterpart to both Kenny the goodra, and Pras over at @askbohemiancompany @omnipokemonproducts respectively. He is the patron for the goddess Hecate, who also enabled him to transition in full. Both Brittany and him are part of the same religious order as part of the Triple Triad, both of whom work directly with the third goddess who operates on her own.

His species is an Elioud, a tall angelic humanoid that have angel like wings. He was also blessed with a Chimera form from Hecate, which are a combination of the animal Hecate is associated with; dogs, snakes and rats. Kenny will use this form if he has to fight someone.

Despite the fact that he is gay like Kenny and transmasc like Pras, his personality is drastically different from both. Kenny has a nasty temper, prone to showing visible anger at times. Many have compared him to an angry dog when he is mad, some saying this started happening after he was blessed by Hecate. Whether this is true is difficult to say.

While Kenny and Brittany are very close friends in the Bohemian Company setting, Kenny and Brittany are people who cannot stand each other. Yet their respective gods force them to work together for the Zodiac Gods. Astraea, the third god and the only one that physically interacts with them, often has to rein them in.

The source of their animosity started from Kenny hating Brittany since she came into the public eye for not liking when she would say out of pocket comments, and action he considered edgy. Brittany's hatred for Kenny began to grow as he continued to open his mouth to criticize any punk or non-conforming movement, trying to force a clean and safe image for every social, outsider movements. In universe, there is a website that archives their many spats with details and videos even.

Like in the ask blog, Kenny has connections to Lenox, but those connections are for another time(for both projects).

Name: RU-V/Pikake Haines

Age: 10 at introduction, 25 at time of full transformation into a guardian beast.

Species: Human->Guardian Beast

Bio: a human girl who has had demons sealed in her body to possess her as part of an experiment. She is possessed by tthe demons Ukobach and Rath as a result of David Essex experimenting on her in order to try and fuse demons into her soul. She was the first successful subject to be able to house two demons in her body after 4 previously failed attempts. While she survived the process, this led to her emotions being fried and only would show any emotion when she taps into either of the demon’s power. Eventually, she escaped captivity as a result of another test subject. Her main power set is being able to create fire, embed things with heat, turn into a lightning infused lion humanoid, fear repression and can subjugate all felines.

After a number of years, she eventually fully merged with both demons, turning into a massive feline spirit entity that guards young members of the coven as she makes a name for herself as a target for bounty hunters due to her background.

Personality: Due to her up bringing to be made as a weapon, she is lacking in many social skills beyond following order, needing to be calm under pressure and knowing when to intimidate. This caused her to lash out at others fairly often, usually requiring restrain

Thanks to Dela's influence, she picked up a passion for learning, specifically about the history of magic theory, mythology, and the works of Octavia Spencer. Over time, her actual personality began to form as a genuinely curious, and passionate person. As she got older, she became more proactive, not just a teacher's assistant, but as part of the means to defend the island.

Even after her transformation into a guardian beast, she retains her personality, only change being able to make what she and her colleague's call "angry goddess voice".

Abilities: Due to containing both the demon Rath, and Ukobach within she has gained the ability to use fire, and electric magic in addition to her ice and water magic. The demons also gave her the ability to suppress fear in anyone, and can subjugate all felines. In addition, she is strong at ice and water magic by her elemental affinity.

Ru has also been trained in the ways of hand to hand combat, specializing in the use of short blades such as machetes, and tiny/hidden pistols such as derringers, and her favorite wallet gun.

Upon becoming a guardian entity, she gains the default form of a massive lioness that can can sense the location of anyone she has made a bond with. In her lioness form she is a main of lightning, and eyes of fire. Despite the beast form being her default form now, she is able to become her old human self before the transformation.

Remember that throw away bit about a wild card demi-goddess? Well, we get to see that side.

Name: 70th Pope of the Church of Her Rudely Snubbed Noelle Selios

Species: Cambion(Nebiros Decendent)

Age: 19(Born post mutation)

Occupation: Worshiper of Discordianism; Drummer for Ur Utero

Affiliations: The Church of Her Rudely Snubbed; Ur Utero; "Brittany's Bitches"

Bio: The drummer for the band Ur Utero. Noelle met Rimi when their college's local Discordians held a club meeting. While Rimi initially went to keep an eye on the club, Noelle was almost all in as a member as a member of the Church of Her Rudely Snubbed.

After repeat "inspections", Rimi decided to hang out more with Noelle, and Noelle introduced her to a whole network of people that are part of the church. Which just so happened to be Post Punk band that Rimi would sing for.

Powers and abilities: Mildly below average Chaos Magic- Mastery of Hysmina: As a user of chaos magic, Noelle does have the ability to alter aspects of reality in subtle ways. Despite the "authority" of her title, she is mildly below average in terms of causing massive changes. Where she shines as a chaos practitioner is in the art of Hysmina, or causing fights. Noelle may not be good in a fight, but can push others into one.

The way Hysmina works is that Noelle can set an aura around a number of different individuals or things. From there it then attracts those things to participate in, or used in a brawl. She has mastered the ability of setting up fights with the machine like precision.

The drawback is that the power does not enhance anyone's ability, least of all hers. If Noelle uses her Hysmina on more than 4 things, she can become a target of those of under her influence. Despite being able to set them up fast, the disengaging process is not as fast, often times getting hit for this weakness.

Average Fire and Mineral Magic: Can utilize fire and a mineral magic.

Personality: Noelle is a very rash, energetic and passionate person who does care for her friends consistently, and fans(if she is feeling lazy/slow that day). Despite being part of a religious order known for its high turn over in membership, she does follow the Discordian principals of optimistic nihilism, and has practiced for more than 3 years. She believes everything is nothing, nothing is everything, ergo and life is granted to apply whatever meaning you want.

This does not stop her from using the principles to justify poor decisions. This is something Noelle leans into, both for amusement and to try and get some kind of advantage. Her favorite trick is evoking the pope title to start trouble, or demand stuff for free. Even Brittany, who is notoriously a troll herself, has been genuinely angered by her to where her she popped her violet goat form and yelled at her in a way that shook everyone that was round to see it. If she does hurt a friend or an ally in a major way, she will try to make it right.

A Certain Squatter

Come on. Don't deny yourself. You thought that goblin secretary was hot. The way his suit pants were tailor-made to emphasize his thick thighs that would ripple at the slightest step, his adorable shy demeanor and his beautiful hair. It aroused you. And yet he does not think so; makes him look womanly, that all the men on staff have to be mocking him behind his back. They are a point of shame.

The entity in the mirror chuckled, facing their uncorrupted counterpart. Their abode, if you would.

Yet there is a hypotenuse. His girlfriend. We can dispose of her in any number of ways. We could turn her into an object and leave it where it can never be found or destroyed. Not only that, but we could shut off her mental faculties and leave her comatose.

Three pink glowing horns emerged from the reflection's head, like pillars of neon fire.

I know the option you would love to choose. You would want us to use the knowledge we can get involving the short stack, lean into his insecurities, and make you the one person they trust. Best part, you could do it all, and he wouldn't even know you have made yourself his rock. What do you say, Gwen?

A satisfying furious scowl from the darker reflection crept onto their face, leaving them snarling. It quickly went back to his smug grin. Yet you never looked away from this mirror. You were considering those options.

Gwen could not respond. It was time to turn away from the mirror. A gutting feeling washed over the pucca; shame that even when she left the archdemon snarling, Lucifuge 'won' again.

(Gwen has a third wheel that manages to become integral to her life: Lucifuge Rofocarept. While how they "met" is for another time, Lucifuge makes using a mirror hard for Gwen, as that is the one way they can talk to her. Lucifuge leans into the darker side of her dread knight powers, making Gwen one of the most infamous, hated and feared in her field. Specialized power at a specialized cost)

Molting

I swear if Brittany has me carry all of those suitcases back down, I will ask for a transfer. I do not care how busy Freddy is.

The apartment Brittany has in New York is impressive. For a room she rents out to others, she definitely shows her wealth, if nothing else. A lot of paintings that consist of nothing but color; surrealist paintings that I get what it is depicting, but I still have to wonder, why? Some odd clock that is telling the time, but looks like a carjack bolted to a wall. 

I had to stand up to actually get a proper look at the time while I was laying down. Ms. DeBoin explained to me the meaning of the piece.

That’s by design! It is supposed to look like that! It symbolizes time being a difficult thing to keep track of, yet for all the time zones we find a way to keep track of it.

I’m starting to think she just bought a confusing looking clock and has to make up a justification for why she bought it.

Her TV looks like it is the most recent and high resolution version of the flat-screen. Aside from the bottom bar with the TV logo, the TV has no frame. I have not watched anything yet, but I’m curious if it will have an odd aspect ratio. 

Looking at the media shelf she has on the sides of the TV, it is surprisingly small for someone who tries to claim she is as media influenced as she is. I cannot see the full spines as the frame covers a third of it, but I see from some of the spines.

Eyes Without A Face which made sense given the poster she has, Phantom of the Pa, Kino’s Journey, Visions of Escafl, Revolutionary Girl Ut, Bound and finally Hedwig and the Angry. This only took up about half of the shelf space for her film collection. 

Her music collection is the polar opposite. Her shelves are full nearly to the brim aside from the bottom two shelves. I have not even heard of a lot of the bands on here and it would take hours to go through them all. I know she is going to make me listen to something later.

I bolt up from the couch. The limited ways she could be hurt is low, but still, I have to make sure she is okay. Plus, it sounds like she is whining over something.

Upon opening the door, I see Brittany in a towel, but more importantly something is around her eye. Her eye looks almost swollen, a layer of clear skin clasping on her eyeball. It seems impossible for her to see out of. It looks almost merged to her eye. I have never seen anything like this. If this blinds her I will be in deep trouble. “We need to get to a hospital!” I grab her arm but she breaks my grip.

“No! We don’t have to go! This is just a bad molt. I just need you to do me a favor.” Reaching over to her bathroom sink, cosmetics spilled into, she hands me a pair of flat headed tweezers. “I just need you to pull off the skin using these tweezers.”

Skin?! That’s what this is? Her eyes molt? Is this due to that surgery that her father did to her? “Hold on! Why can’t you do it?!” 

“Every time I get the tweezers near my eyeball I get shaky and nervous. Now, please pull the center of my eye with the tweezers!”

Oh she gets nervous? What about me? Brittany is trusting me with her eye. If I screw up I could blind her. I cannot feel her pain, nor do I have any empath magic that could help.

Tenderly, I move the tweezers towards the slit in the molting skin. I figured it would be best to start from the corner so it would come cleanly off. Hopefully. My hand is stable due to my bio organic enhancements, but my heart is beating out of my chest. Going for the eyes is something I myself get nervous over. The mere idea of something piercing and cutting an eye shakes me to my core. I have never done this before. The most I have ever done was when I tried to remove my own contacts when I was 11.

Wait. Like contacts! I place the tweezers back on the counter. Brittany fidgets nervously, hearing what I did. “Len. What are you doing?”

“Just trust me on this.” I turn on the sink and wash my hands. From the mirror I can see Brittany opening her available eye to see what I am doing. She’s shaking, likely nervous as she does not know what to do. After barely drying my hands, I grab the good side of her face from her chin, so I can guide her head. The one good eye is dilating, meaning I need to keep this quick. With my other hand, I lightly scrape my middle finger against her eyeball.

I feel the wet clump of skin attach to my finger, slimy though it may be. I tenderly continued until the skin clasped around my finger. I look at her eyes and it looks like there is no damage. A bit red, watery and swollen, but it seems like she can see. My relief gave way to disgust once I realized I still had the skin. It feels slimy, but there was clearly texture. It felt like I was holding wet snake skin boots. Instinctively I flick it off into the toilet. Brittany gives me a horrified look.

“Were you raised in a barn!? Dammit, I cannot sell it now?”

Sell? She sells her skin sheds? I know that was a practice that dragons could do to make some quick money. But would anyone take some skin molts from a human? Wait, Brittany looks human again. I know her father performed extensive surgery on her to look human, so why did she still molt?

“I thought your father got all of your skin replaced. I just thought the scales under your eyes were just makeup.” Figured any time is as good as any to escort her back to the living room, but she struts past me doing that damned walk that makes her look like a model.

The pop star just shakes her head at me and laughs. “My father is a skin and muscle surgeon. He is not comfortable doing any work on eyes, teeth or ears.” She lifts her hair to reveal something I had never noticed with her. Instead of human, or even animal ears like you would find on a cambion, there were little holes on the side of her head. From what I can see, they were also molting, with whitish skin. “It is also why I keep my hair in this style at all times, so no one can see my ears. It’s…not something I like showing. The fact you assumed the scales under my eyes were make-up makes me feel better.”

For the first time since I took this job, Brittany is showing some vulnerability with me. Not a lot, but this is something. For all of her confidence over her new body she still has points of insecurity for her, which at least was something I should keep in mind. I hide one of my ears in my hands, gentle rubbing them.

“In fact, let me show you something,” Brittany went back to the bathroom. I hear something unzip, then I hear her footsteps again. I see a bag of skin? The contents of the bag looked like plastic inside another plastic bag. Except once I get one more good look at it, it’s scaly skin!

“Why do you have that?!”

“To sell them to a select group of people. I thought we were on the same page with that.” Brittany is using that sing-song tone from when we were driving up. “I sell them to people within my network. Connections with my production team, my dad. People suspect I shed to varying degrees since I went public with both my transition and my reversion into a human. I myself just do not like looking at them.”

“I know you aim to sell it. Just nasty is all,” something about what she said stood out. Having a network of someone with her status. "Is one of those people in New York?”

Brittany nods. “Agnes Utgar-Hagen is my main doctor. I give her clumps of my skin for study and depending on how much skin clumps I give her, I can get 40 dollars for every 6 inches.”

40 dollars? That still mattered to a millionaire? I just shrug. Whatever she wants to do with her skin is up to her. “You know what. I don’t even want to hear more than that. This topic is getting too gross for me.” If she kept going, I can only imagine what she will mention. What if she sells other excrement to some weirdo who needs it for 'magical studies'?

“True true~! By the way,” Brittany approaches me meekly, reaching her hand out to try and grab my hand, only to stop herself. “May I see your hands please?” My hands? I’m grateful for the topic change, but why my hands? A better description of them is closer to claws, so says Freddy.

“Your hands just feel nice. I assumed under your energy claws they would be gnarled and gross, but you take good care of your hands. I just want to look at them again.”

Oh my god! Why is she doing this? She’s probably lying about finding my hands feeling soft. This is just her trying to mess with me again. My guess, she wants to get a look at as many things with my body she can mock. If she thinks that I don’t know her reputation as a shit stirrer, she will be in for a rude awakening.

“N-no Ms. DeBoin! I believe that is not necessary. I believe I have helped you so I will leave you to get…dressed.” Oh. Right. Brittany is in a towel. Needing to get out of there, I shut her door as fast as I could without slamming it. I really hope she does not report this to Freddy.

Brittany is laughing as she goes back to the bathroom. I just walk back to the couch and slump down. I’m already exhausted with having to deal with her antics. It’s not even a week yet. This is going to be a long job.

History: While a man of few words on his own past, he has made a name for himself in the present. Starting out as part of the Hermetic Brain Trust's, he eventually left the organization after an undisclosed incident led to him damaging his hands. While the details of which are kept sparse, but in the aftermath he founded the magical spelunking, excavation, repossession and under the table thieves

Through his time with the Hermetic Brain Trust, he achieved a type of immortality, drastically slowing down his aging and allowing him to regenerate from bodily damage. This immortality became a word of mouth detail around him, one of which brought him unwanted attention. Until a man by the name Nalaka Haos approached him to join the private club known as the Red Room, an elite social club made exclusively of immortals who share tips, stories, advice on how to survive and plan for goals of different stakes.

After he participated in the first Baal War, he changed the direction of his company after he achieved a total of 8 kills, including 2 thralls. He pivoted to a mercenary company, which made his profile bigger, but also made him far more despised and scrutinized due to the new direction of the company. From there he expanded his operation to now include specialist for hire, while keeping the previous department active, just less emphasized.

Powers and abilities: He has bio-organic hand enhancements that can emit tentacles and create a highly corrosive acid. If it is injected into someone's bloodstream, it will dissolve the target from the inside out.

His regenerative power allows him to recover from any bodily harm, allowing for both regenerating lost parts or reattaching detached parts.

One additional power is called Fight or Flight, a mental trigger goes off when he would be killed normally and the one who killed him is in proximity. This allows him to attack at full power and speed, running off explosive adrenaline. If the thing that killed him is too strong for him to attack, the adrenaline allows him to flee and escape the conflict.

Personality: Freddy is a very secretive person, choosing his words carefully. He is masterful manipulator, specifically with what information he has and will share. He is also very supportive of those who stay loyal to him, as his lovers Rhys and Vanille. However, if you turn on him, he will cut you out with no hesitation.

Lenox Aguilar Tuazon

Species: Cambion(Balam lineage)

Occupation: Gnos & Rag Training Instructor/Head of Security and Protection

History:The child of one of the astronaut of the Atlantis Satellite,

Once her father passed away, she was adopted by a Tengu family in the states after Lenox’s mom disregarded her to focus on her new company, but Lenox also believes that it is because her mom did not mutate while she was in orbit. Despite this weight, she is happy with her adoptive family, who are openly supportive of her. She works for the company in order to provide for her two siblings, after their mom and dad were killed in a Kelv Rion attack.

While waiting to interview for a security position, she stopped a failed assassination of Freddie and Rhys. She was hired on the spot before the interview. During her first five years, she met Brittany DeBoin, who would eventually marry her and become her wife.

Once she reaches her late 40's she stepped down from field duty and became the training instructor of Gnos & Rag's field team. The only time she would do any sort of field work is when she is assisting her wife.

Power's and abilities: As a kikolitan, she is resistant to magic attacks and curses. This has led her to become a potent magekiller. This also has the drawback of weakening helpful magic.

Due to her lineage as a cambion, she can have access to innate demonic powers. As a result of being a descendant of Balam, she can shift into a were-bear and normal bear form. She can utilize stone and wind magic, albeit muted due to being a kikolitan.

Personality: Lenox is a very loving and patient person when it comes to people she cares for. When it comes to Brittany, she is incredibly affectionate, though this comes with a lot of teasing. If you are a friend of hers, she will be extremely loyal.

Len is also extremely uptight, having very little tolerance for goofing off, especially if it involves her own's. She will take jokes personally and if her past, family situation and her species will make her either depressed or enraged. This depends on who says it.

History: One of the founding members of Magic of the World, Jason was one of the five founders of the initial five members, including Rhys, Lenox, Amy and Lynn. His specialty is the trap disposal and the one who obtains the breakdowns of the building.

After the pivot to being a mercenary company, Jason became the head of the Spelunking division and was also the one who handle expanding the company to add new wings to the main building, due to his mom running an architecture company. This is how he met Amy, whom he would marry, have a child with and then divorce within the span of 10 years.

Power's and abilities: Jason has a high proficiency in electricity and wind magic, able to convert wind into electricity.

As a Blumire, any building planned by or built by Debrah Blumire prevents from being harmed inside the structures as part of his mom's deal with the gods.

Personality: Jason is an eccentric and odd personality. He will obsess over minute things and loves to talk about his collection of gaming magazines and knives. Despite this eccentricity, it belies a genius who is capable to think on the fly.

Post divorce, his eccentricities are enhanced, but now there is a twinge of sadness behind it. Those who know him long enough can tell it is not the same as it was previous.
