A Court of Thorns and Roses
// A Court of Thorns and Roses //
This book is something that has finally taken me out of my three-year reading slump. After slowly watching more and more booktube videos and joining booktok, this book stood out for me. I have always loved fantasy so this was the perfect place to begin my new reading adventure.
ACOTAR is set in a world where humans and fae are divided by a wall, with humans living in constant fear of whatever is beyond it. Feyre, our protagonist, is imprisoned and forced to live beyond the wall. The story follows Feyre in her adventure in the fae kingdom and the struggles she faces as a human.

This is my own personal feelings towards the story and I hope it neither offends anyone nor changes their willingness to read it
As I’ve said before, this book took me out of the reading slump that I’ve been looking to escape for some time. It manages to build a world that wrapped me within it in the opening chapter. Although slow at times, the descriptions of the scenery drew me in and I couldn’t help but feel as though I was walking through the Spring court with Feyre.
Unlike some books, Feyre kept her stubbornness and lack of care for her life in order to survive sticks with her beyond the wall. Although at times her stubborn nature towards Tamlin can drag on, their relationship and mutual character development are steady moving as the book goes on.
The character development of Feyre and Tamlin is the most prominent throughout this book with that of Lucien and other characters such as Alis being a lot less. The books also slow down in the middle, but with a strong opening and an exciting finish, this book was one the I found hard to put down.
Overall, I gave A Court of Thorns and Roses a 3/5.
