(I wrote this while thinking about a mentally unstable person who age regresses, but I'm sure every flavor of neurodivergent can somewhat relate to this as well.)
This isn't a fanfiction or professionally written, btw. This is 100% me just yapping my head off and being 100% self-indulgent while I do so lol.
How He Takes Care of You:
Video games, board games, toy sets, whatever your heart desires, he'll give you. He loves knitting and crocheting things for you as a gift. Caleb is quite attentive but also overprotective and a bit overbearing at times, but it's only because he worries about you! Don't be surprised if he asks you a question, then asks again just to double-check. He also loves Friday nights where the two of you snuggle on the couch under a blanket, enjoying pizza and ice cream together as the both of you either play a video game or watch a movie together. Caleb is unashamed when it comes to showing his love for you, either by peppering your face with kisses or showering you in praise.
How He Responds to Isolation:
Caleb has said something to upset his pipsqueak :( so now you're isolating yourself from him in your room. He definitely won't allow you to sulk by yourself, so he'll always let himself in and immediately take up all your space. He'll look up at you with those puppy eyes of his, begging for your forgiveness until you relent. Then he'll nuzzle his face into your neck and fall asleep with you in his arms. Caleb doesn't like to argue or raise his voice at you, and he never will unless it's about your health or safety.
How He Responds to Sudden Episodes:
Caleb said something that triggered you, so you suddenly snap at him, spouting about how you hate him or how he's never loved you to begin with.
Caleb will act like he's listening to your rant, but he isn't. In his mind, he's coming up with every idea on how to get you to trust him again. Was there something you really wanted recently? He's on his way to order it. Maybe you feel abandoned because he's been too busy with work lately? Perhaps he'll bring you along with him from now on or manage his time better so that he can spend more time with you. Caleb is a man who doesn't care much about arguing. Instead, he's more ready to take action.
How He Takes Care of You:
Sylus isn't very open about his feelings and is quite busy, but that doesn't mean he can't be a good caregiver if given the chance. He sleeps during the day but already has meals prepared for you. When he can't take care of you at night, he'll have Luke and Kieran take his place. He doesn't mind it when you slip into his bed while he's asleep or when you'll creep into his office and plop into his lap while he's working or cleaning his guns. He loves to leave trails of lovebites against your skin. It's his unique way of showing affection.
How He Responds To Isolation:
Sylus isn't very good at responding to other's emotions, much less his own. He'll initially let you have your space, but he'll soon grow anxious over your continued absence. He'll have Mephisto spy on you throughout the day to check if you're safe, but eventually, he'll grow bored without you. Sylus will invite himself into your room after work, faint smell of cigars and gunpowder clinging to his clothes. He won't say anything, just quietly takes you in his arms and hold onto you tightly for the rest of the night. A silent reminder about how your isolation tortures him.
How He Responds to Sudden Episodes:
Again, Sylus isn't very good at dealing with emotions. He might be a little defensive when you start to shout or get upset at him randomly, but he quickly reminds himself that your brain is out to get you and that he shouldn't put it against you, then he'll start to calm himself down. He'll approach you cautiously like a feral kitten, hear what you have to say, and respond accordingly. It'll frustrate Sylus when no matter what he says, you won't believe him, but he doesn't get upset for too long. He'll play a song on the record player to relax you two, or he'll give you some space for a while to relax, but his presence will always be there, making sure that abandonment isn't on your mind.
How He Takes Care of You:
Zayne is often busy as a surgeon, but he'll try his best to make time for you whenever possible. When he can't see you, he'll make sure that you're well fed either through takeout or prepared meals left in the fridge/freezer for you. He'll often return home with pastries in hand for you and himself to indulge in. He'll make sure that you're brushing your teeth on time and taking care of your hygiene, that you're eating regularly, or that you've cleaned your room at least once a week. He's patient when he guides you. If you can't do something, he won't pressure you or make you feel bad about it. Zayne is strict, but with a gentleness to him that isn't overwhelming. Zayne isn't a touchy person, but that doesn't mean he hates affection. He loves hugging you from behind as he inhales your scent when he gets home from work.
How He Responds To Isolation:
Zayne is a logical man who doesn't make decisions emotionally, most of the time. He'll give you your space until he has a whole day just to dedicate his time to you. He'll ask you why you're upset, and he has to remind himself that arguing about your feelings is worthless. He'll treat your feelings as valid, but he won't allow you to wallow by yourself any longer. He'll suggest getting some fresh air and clearing your mind while taking a walk outside, or if you're not as active, then maybe he'll suggest a bubble bath instead.
How He Responds to Sudden Episodes:
A quiet yet stern tone that leaves little room for further comments.
He doesn't tolerate shouting and disrespect at all, but he also won't be disrespectful to you. He understands what you're going through, but he won't allow himself to get stressed out. This doesn't mean that he'll distance himself from you, not at all. Perhaps he'll take you to see a therapist to talk about how you feel, or maybe he'll distract you from your feelings by playing a game of cards with you or offering you your favorite treats. Rest assured that despite his low tolerance for emotion, he won't ever feel like you're too "overwhelming," and he will never snap at you or treat you less than him for being emotional.
How He Takes Care of You:
Rafayel loves it when you're curious about art. He'll give you all the painting supplies that you need. He'll either guide you or observe you proudly as you paint. Other times, he'll paint with you, either right beside you or on the same canvas. He giggles whenever your palms full of colorful paint touch his skin. His body is a canvas for you and you only. He's happy to see you passionate about something and will indulge in anything you take an interest in. He loves to randomly tickle you throughout the day. He's addicted to your laugh, your smile, your heartbeat.
How He Responds To Isolation:
Rafayel can't be separated from you for even a second. As soon as you even show signs of isolation, he's right in your face with a pout. He brings you into his arms and asks you what's wrong. If he doesn't get an answer right away? That's alright, as long as you're close and not far away from him, he doesn't mind being patient with you.
How He Responds to Sudden Episodes:
Oh boy. It gets heated whenever you accuse him of something. Rafayel is emotional, but he hates conflict. He instantly gets teary-eyed as soon as the argument starts and surrenders, pulling you closer and begging for you to believe him, to trust him again. He'll bring you out into the sea with him. The ocean embracing you and the vibrant coral or the school of fish swimming around the two of you always puts you both at ease after a stressful day.
How He Takes Care of You:
Xavier loves to nap with you throughout the day. He'll read you and your plushies a bedtime story or introduce you to a novel or a comic book he's been reading recently. He'll invite you out to the arcades regularly if it suits your mood. Xavier will bring home plushies and flowers from Jeremiah occasionally, always feeling warm inside whenever you smile at his gifts. Xavier is a cuddle bug and will rest his head on your softest areas whenever he gets sleepy, or just anytime that he can, actually.
How He Responds To Isolation:
Xavier doesn't take your absence very well. He'll be rather dominant when it comes to you suddenly pushing him away at times. He isn't forceful, but he also won't allow you to isolate yourself. He'll invade your space constantly, either by just lingering around the same room as you or being right next to you. He won't ever ask why you're isolating as he's not very confrontational, but he won't ever leave you alone either.
How He Responds to Sudden Episodes:
"Bunbun doesn't want you to be upset at Xavier anymore."
Xavier isn't very good at confrontation, so he'll often talk to you through your plushies instead. At first, you find it ridiculous, but soon, you feel more comfortable venting about your insecurities to the plushies instead of lashing out at Xavier about them.
"Bunbun says to give Xavier a biiiiig kiss when you see him again, okay?"
