nin songs for mcr fans?
Well, that's a tough one cause I'm a huge fan of both bands, but they're very different! I believe it depends on what your favorite MCR songs are.
- If you're into heart-breaking ballads, you may start by listening to "Something I can Never Have (Still)" IT HAS TO BE THE STILL VERSION, PLEASE 🙏 Then we also have "Hurt" (probably their most famous song. NO, IT'S NOT BY JOHNNY CASH — Johnny just did an amazing rendition💖) Maybe "Right Where It Belongs", any of its two versions works! 💔
- If you're more into the kinky queer vibe, like Prison by MCR, you will appreciate "Closer" (super famous too - But BEWARE — NIN is very very explicit and Trent doesn't give a fuck about being cancelled), "Reptile" , "The Only Time", "Kinda I Want To" "Big man with a gun" (controversial af though, TW), "The Collector" or "Discipline". EDIT: I forgot to mention the amazing cover NIN did of Physical (You're So) All of these are freaky and fruity af 🌈
- If you're looking for something more introspective, depressing and cinematic (such as Sleep by MCR), you may wanna go for "The Downward Spiral" (the song, not the album. TW cause it's.... A hard to swallow pill. The album is SUBLIME — the equivalent to TBP for MCR, but it's a PTSD provoking experience), "The Becoming" or maybe "Gave Up". 🪦
- Last but not least, if you're unsure about where to start but you like theatrical yet chaotic performances, you may wanna go right away to their performance in Woodstock '94 (it's also worth noting that their live performances usually go much harder and darker than their records both in sound and interpretation). 🎭
