Hey! I just recently got accepted to Barnard and I had one question: did you ever need to send in your final IB scores, or can you decide yourself if you want them for credit? Thank you so much! :)

Hey! Hope this is not too late! Yes, you do have to send in your final IB scores. I believe your high school counsellor would do that for you. Also, in order to obtain credits, you must go to the registrar and request for them!

It's difficult to list the best majors because the idea of "best" is very controversial and varied itself. However, the most popular majors (from what I've heard of, might not be completely accurate) are English, Neuroscience, Psychology, Theatre, Dance, and Biology

Hi! I'm really interested in applying to Barnard and I'm an international student too (from Singapore). I will be sitting for my IB exams in November 2014. I do have one worry though; my grades haven't been great. My school does not give us a GPA or anything and by the time I apply to Barnard, I will already have my actual IB score (predicted 38+) but will my chances be hurt? Do you mind sharing your IB and/or SAT scores? Sorry for the trouble and thank you!

Sorry for the late reply! I've been extremely busy since COLLEGE has started. Hey! I know a few people who are from Singapore and are currently at Barnard/Columbia. As long as your actual IB score stays around 36-40 range you're pretty safe. When I applied to Barnard, my predicted score was 43 and ACT was 34 (my real IB score didn't matter).

hey did you get accepted to barnard w/ financial aid?im a prospective international student and barnard is my dream school but i couldn't afford without aid :(

Sorry for the late reply! I did not apply for financial aid when I applied to Barnard because I knew that it is not need-blind for international students (aka it will diminish my chances of getting in). Try applying for overseas scholarships funded by other organizations, maybe they'll help a bit! :)
