He asks doing his best not to show how overwhelmed he is by the desire to pet his new fluffy ears

Tim says even as his hands go to gently pet the ears. He gasps softly at the feeling.

“They’re so soft!”

His fingers are very gentle as he strokes Kon’s ears. He gets a thought and starts to giggle.

“We better hope they’re gone by the time the baby arrives or they’ll probably try to tug on them.”

Yeah apparently they were even fluffier when they made me small

Tim asks curiously. He tugs Kon down to sit with him so Kon can rest his head on Tim’s chest.

“The baby has been more agitated today whenever I move around. Sitting down and rubbing my stomach seems to help them settle though.”

He tells Kon. On hand stroking Kon’s ears and hair the other rubbing his own stomach

I used to! My first couple iterations had tails. I think one of them was kept as a specimen somewhere. It might have survived? Lex hated it.

[ Kon laughed a little remembering how much the bastard hated seeing that tail. How he made Kon hide it in his first few suits not caring how uncomfortable it was to sit on a tail. ]

It wasn't fluffy like this one, more like a hairless cat with a little tuff at the end kinda like a lion's tail. From what I've seen from my records, I liked curling the tail around myself. I guess it was comforting.

[ Kon let Tim drag him down to the couch. How could he complain about having his head in such a beautiful man's lap? Kon chuckled then Kissed Tim's stomach. ]

“I don’t know how Luthor could hate that. It sounds adorable. I hate that you had to suffer so much because of that bastard.”

Tim says frowning at the thought of all that Lex put his boyfriend through. He smiles when Kon kisses his stomach.

“Maybe you should try talking to them. I read that at a certain point the baby is able to hear inside the womb. Your voice might help them settle. I know I find it calming.”

Tim runs his fingers through Kon’s hair, stroking his fluffy ears

[ Kon shrugs, shoulders a little tighter, but Tim kept petting his ears and his tail slowly started waging again. He couldn't help it the petting was grounding. Tim was grounding.]

I barely remember it, honestly. But it was... kinda like another limb, you know? Helped with balance, mostly. Nothing special.

[ He tilts his head, letting himself lean into the comfort. ]

Tim rubs Kon’s back and strokes his hair. It’s clear to see how the motions help calm Kon down and relax him.

He tilts his head, thinking before suggesting,

“How about a story from when you lived in Hawaii? I’ve never gotten to go there myself and I’ve heard it’s really beautiful.”

Hawaii, huh? I think I have some good stories. That's where it all started the whole wear my community thing.

I'd just started the show, and at the time I didn't think anyone would care for it. But then I started doing hospital tours, school visits... just showing up. Letting kids see me as a local hero and not some far of lab experiment or some big name poster child.

The show had been airing for 3 months and I'd been in Hawaii at that point for almost 6 when I first went to one of the kid hospitals. I wasn't expecting them to be as excited as they were to see me.

[ He chuckles, shaking his head. ]

One of my favorite things was this surf club. They'd meet up weekly, and I'd drop in whenever I could. Maybe every other month or so. We'd have these competitions to see who could outrace me. And let me tell you...

[ He grinned as he looked up at Tim. ]

I was terrible! Like, embarrassingly bad. Wipeout after wipeout. But the kids and parents there loved it. Then kids would be screaming with laughter, giving me all sorts of advice, feeling like total pros because they could teach Superboy how to ride a wave.

[ His smile softens. ]

Even after I got better at it, because I had been practicing, I did really like surfing, I just... kept pretending I couldn't. It became part of the show. Part of the character Superboy. The bigger than life hero challenged regular people to a regular sport and being miserably bad at it made me look more human and watching those kids light up, watching them feel big and capable? That was worth more than any perfect wave.

...I loved that. I loved being that for them.
