Hugo Barra Reveals Android Xiaomi Strategies in Indonesia
Vice President of Global Xiaomi, Hugo Barra visit to Indonesia on Thursday (06/05/2014) ago. The person responsible for expansion outside China's Xiaomi to explain his strategy in an exclusive interview with KompasTekno.

Met on the sidelines of the exhibition cellular activities visit Indonesia Cellular Show (ICS) 2014 JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Hugo Barra told the reason why Xiaomi need to enter the Indonesian market following any steps to be prepared.
Hugo previously occupied strategic positions in the Internet giant, Google for about five years, said the mobile market will grow rapidly within the next two years, while Indonesia is a huge mobile market.
"Because of that Xiaomi will also go to Indonesia, and we also will sell Xiaomi smartphone products with a focus on e-commerce in addition to cooperation with local distributors," said Hugo.
In addition to holding Erafone as distributors and retailers in Indonesia, also called Hugo Xiaomi is preparing the foundation of e-commerce are strong. It needs to be done related to marketing strategies Xiaomi.
During this time, Xiaomi marketing model is focused through the buying and selling online. The model proved to be successful in their home country, China, and several other countries, such as India, Malaysia, and recently in Singapore.
Hugo explains, Xiaomi has a sales method that is often referred to as "Flash Sale." Instead of selling a product in large quantities every few months, Xiaomi sells it products in limited quantities each month.
"So whenever there are goods, we sell directly, it goes without waiting for," said Hugo, man Brazilian nationality.
However, the method of "Flash Sale" can not be done arbitrarily, to be at the right time. Hugo explains, every country has a different culture. In Singapore, for example, according to research Xiaomi, a great time to do a Flash Sale is Tuesday at 12 noon.
The same method has also been carried out in the Malaysian market. In its inaugural sale, Xiaomi successfully sell 4 to 6 thousand units of smartphones in the limited time. "The market in Indonesia is certainly bigger, we have to choose a time that fit the culture," said Hugo.

Besides Indonesia, Xiaomi will also expand to other countries, like the Philippines in the near future, India, Taiwan, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, and Mexico. There is no special priority for these countries, all running in parallel is called Hugo.
In countries earlier, Xiaomi still have to complete various administrative processes, both with Google and with local state authorities.

After all, according to Hugo, before entering into a country (including Indonesia), Xiaomi also need to prepare other supporting infrastructure, such as an e-commerce website that can be relied upon, after sales service, including telephone customer service hotline, chat and social media.
