I feel like Remus and Roman are functionally different than the other sides. The other sides are all embodiments of entire concepts, whilst creativity used to be the same, but he was split in two, literally had his whole personality cleaved in half, instead of being two sides that developed independently, the twins have only half of a personality. Sure they developed their own things afterwards but a lot of who they are relies on NOT BEING the other twin. Even their outfits are the same, just inverted. Because they're two sides of the same coin, one person split in two, forced into two polar opposites. Like taking the same shade of gray and turning its brightness all the way up/down.
That's why they both seem so obsessed with their roles, why all the other characters can be morally gray whilst these two are so adamantly black and white. I also have another ramble about how, because their existence is based on morality, they both fear what would happen if Thomas's morality stoped being black and white, but that's not the ramble you asked for.
Remus and Roman are fundamentally different characters from the rest because they are so adamant about not being each other, because they used to be each other, and their entire existence relies on NOT being each other, so they emphasize their differences. And those differences is that one is good and the other is evil. Roman even said, it's like looking into a funhouse mirror.
While they may act like siblings, they both view each other as themselves and not a completely separate being. They embody what the other one doesn't want to be, what they can't let themselves be, so they overcompensate by being what separated them to begin with. Remus acts like a cartoon villain, spouting biblical references (with himself as the devil of course) and reiterating that good and bad aren't real anyway and that he's evil which makes Thomas evil because no matter how much Thomas suppresses him, he will always be a part of Thomas, because Roman is here. And Thomas loves Roman, and he and Roman are really the same person, just that Roman is boring and hes fun (because let's be honest, the original creativity loved his bad thoughts just as much as his good ones)
And Roman? He's the hero! He's the good guy! He's the knight in shining armor who swoops in to save the damsel in distress! Because hes the good one, he could never be evil, so he plays up being the Good Guy. Just as Remus plays up being the evil one who does bad things for fun, Roman plays up being the good guy who fights off evil ("evil" being the dark sides, because Remus is a dark side, and he has to oppose Remus). Roman can't handle Virgil being a good guy at first, because he can't have the Bad one being Good, because neither of them can have any sort of moral ambiguity, because if they could they wouldn't even exist in the first place. Same with Janus, Roman even said, "I thought I was your hero", because being the hero is his way of being a person. And if he's not a hero, he's a villain, but Remus is the villain, and if they start to blend into each other then why are they separated to begin with? That's a great spiral for him to fall into!
They also grow and develop into other aspects because of their ways of rationalizing their existence. Roman views himself as the chivalrous hero, so of course he also embodies ego! That's a very egotistical thing to see yourself as, to imagine yourself as the best person in the world. He also embodies passion, as his love for others very much lines up with his "damsel in distress" caricature.
And Remus is everything Roman isn't, so where Roman is the ooey gooey lovey dovey romance, Remus is the part of those feelings that Thomas doesn't like. Hes the sexual, the explicit, the lust to rival Roman's love. Because Remus is like the trash bin for Roman, everything Thomas doesn't want to have in his creativity, falls to the other one, because they are each other's reflections. Where Roman has pride and ego, Remus embodies the catholic guilt that comes with having intrusive thoughts in the first place, he's the bad guy. He views himself as the bad guy who does evil things for fun, so of course he's going to make Thomas feel bad for wanting to do bad things, that's what he does!
They are both reflections of each other, and therefore are not like any other side, because unlike Patton or Logan or Janus, these two did not develop independently, but rather are half of a whole, that retroactively developed more aspects to fill the gaps left from their split.
Also no matter how hard they try they will never not be the same person deep down, hence why they share phrases and mannerisms (ie. shut up nerdy wolverine, the weird hand pose, etc.)

usually i hate when twin/sibling characters are polar opposites of each other because it feels very stereotypical, which is kind of why i didnt really like remus's character, HOWEVER, if the writing of these two is INTENTIONALLY playing on the fact that they're separated by morality and that's why thomas is conflicted with the 2 sides of his creativity I AM EATING IT UPP
