Can we talk about the copaganda in thriller novels?? I'm here to figure out what happened to the dead/missing person and explore character dynamics, with high stakes and plot twists galore. Then the cops and detectives involved with the investigation take little side quests to joke about their hobbies, try to set each other up on dates, and complain about how "unreasonable" the suspect characters' attorneys are. Like, I don't care!!! 😂

Getting tired of reading books that are marketed as queer romance, with reviews saying it's "deliciously sapphic", only for the "love story" to consist of what could easily be perceived as platonic or sisterly love. It's 2025, we deserve better. books can in fact be marketed as having a queer main character without also promising a romance that isn't there!

something something, losing the ability to convey horror through abstraction, through metaphor, through symbolism, through allegory, through raw unexamined un-psychiatrized feeling. if the real horror is.... dun dun dun! the patriarchy then i just feel preached to. don't use fiction as a vehicle for Saying Something About Society. write with total vulnerability and then see what it says. it will be probably be far more interesting and horrifying than what if the monster was uhh my mom's abuse or whatever. this brand of new horror writers are all so terrified of actually disclosing anything about themselves. it's like if an instagram infographic performance was a mediocre contemporary novel

Is it as simple as making an account on their website and applying to jobs that way, or did you have to do something else?

Hey there! so I got my temp job through Addison Group. This insurance company near me needed someone to help them sort and digitize decades worth of paperwork before they moved to a different building, so they listed a temporary position on Linked In, which is how I initially found out about it. When I applied, someone from Addison Group contacted me, and she helped me find out more about the company and prepare for an interview.

Just before I found this position, I did also make an account on Robert Half and applied to a couple positions they had listed. I'm not sure how the process works with them, because I didn't get an interview.
