As we edge closer to the brink, I find myself arguing with more and more pedants about the futility of fighting back.
I cannot think of anything that pisses me off more than armchair activists sitting back and telling me "the answer isn't violence" when the foreseeable alternative is death by compliance. How long are they going to peddle doom and gloom, wringing their hands saying "there's nothing we can do," before their truly is nothing we can do? We're all faggots in the eyes of the state, do they truly think that by pushing anti-resistance sentiment that they will somehow be spared?
I don't want to die, but when fascists rise to power, death is statistically guaranteed. In these times we don't need examples of meek pessimism, we need progressive optimists willing to protest and fight rather than lie down like dogs. We need to gather, vote, protest, and above all prove to the authorities that protest is a prelude to violence. I'm tired of living every day being told that we're all going to die and that there's no use fighting back- the sooner we fight back, the more lives we can save. You'd think that'd be common sense to these pedants but apparently that slipped their research.
How close does the fire have to be before you get off your ass and move?
