One of my favourite depictions of Our Lady.
Now, thinking of the question of gender in a tradition that would wish to see spirit as feminine was troubling, frankly, as long as I was looking outwardly, to the community, for answers rather than observing what is shown to us by the Mother - that She is, in essence, the pure creative all-possibility. And so, we, each filling our own niche in this world and embodying a small fragment of Her, are expressed differently physically and mentally, and we would also be in the right to experience our loving Creator as a mother.
Thank you for putting this into words!
Hey. International people.
Keep calling it the Gulf of Mexico or whatever your term is for it. Do not allow the Republican regime to label that body of water the Gulf of America to the world. The name came from a the term Mexica, what the Aztecs called themselves. It’s been called the Gulf of Mexico since the 1600s.
Keep calling it Denali. The original name before it was Mount McKinley. Don’t let the Indigenous Peoples/First Nations be erased.
It may sound stupid and petty. But it is an attempt to rewrite history and make us forget the origins. It is a literal white washing of history. This type of censorship is a beginning to greater evils.
they call me an undercover agent. the way i’m. under the covers :) cozy in bed :)
they call me a sleeper agent the way i. well. i shan’t say.
low energy devotional acts you can do!
hey guys! i know i haven't been quite active here, and as the title of this post suggests, you might already know why :') i know this is something that may happen to all of us, so i wanted to start by saying that it is completely normal and that you shouldn't beat yourself over it. so here are a few things you can do to honour your deities, even on days where you feel at your lowest <3
have a cup of tea in their name. you don't necessarily have to offer it, just have a nice warm drink in their name
drink water. you have to take care of yourself either way, so better keep yourself hydrated!
have a small meal in their name. just eat something, for their sake, and for yours.
light a candle. even an LED candle is fine. let its warmth embrace and its light guide you
listen to music. now's the perfect time to listen to your devotional playlists, even if you're just laying in bed.
pray. just pray to them. out loud, in your head. doesn't matter. you can do this from your bed, too, they'll understand
wear devotional jewellery. it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a small ring or necklace or whatever that reminds you of them.
just take care of yourself. it'll pass. and they will welcome you with open arms once you recover your usual energy and go back to your usual self.
remember. your gods love you. so do i. everything will be okay <3 take care!
Also gently adding (with no disrespect intended to OP) that if "low-energy" is your default state and ideas like these are all you can do most of the time without help or other circumstances, if this is your "usual self", that is beautiful and okay and valid too. Your practice is enough, whatever it looks like. Your Gods know to whom they have called and understand. <3
It's been a difficult few weeks
But I have many things to be grateful for. Someone very close to me had a successful surgery and is recovering well; within the same week, a car crashed through the wall of my apartment out of nowhere, causing me to suddenly have to move. I'm fortunate that I was unharmed, and friends and family rallied around me to give me a place to stay temporarily, and to help me with moving all my things, as I wasn't in a position to afford professional help.
May I never fall into the trap of believing I am alone in the world. As difficult as all this chaos has been, it has shown me how good I really do have it, and how lucky I am to love and be loved by so many good people.
Blessed is Dea. I'm so thankful.
Nazis will never be welcome in paganism. They have no space in our communities, we will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to nazis. You have no right to the cultures, gods and religions you hijack to spread your disgusting ideologies. You will find no refuge or comraderie amongst pagans.
Reblog to let nazis know they’re not welcome here.
Always, always reblogging
Normalize falling behind in worship. Normalize not constantly being at 100%. Normalize needing to take a step back in order to keep moving forward. Normalize being imperfect. Normalize being human.
I’m reposting this with a link to some sources from the OP, btw; I’m sorry for not tagging them, but Tumblr won’t let me and I’m guessing it’s a privacy settings thing.
https://www.academuseducation.co.uk/post/ancient-mesopotamian-transgender-and-non-binary-identities
There is evidence of complex gender identities in Ancient Mesopotamia, particularly in the cult of the goddess Inanna and her priests.
Always reblog. Hail Inanna!
If you are a pagan devoted to a deity, please live.
Continue writing about them, please keep saying their names. Please keep worshiping them. If you can’t find the strength within yourself to live for yourself, please try to live for them.
I know it’s getting scary. I think it’s going to get scarier. But please, if nothing else. Live.
Thousands of years, hundreds of genocides and crusades and decimation of culture, and yet somehow my Lords still have followers. Somehow I’ve found them. Somehow these names still have meaning. Through all of us they still remain.
Despite the efforts of centuries of suppression and control, My Lord is still alive, because I am alive.
In our fringe little cults, even when we must whisper because we cannot scream.
and maybe one day we’ll be free to frolic in fields or dance in forests while we chant without fear.
but for now, just live. Please.
The gods (of any "pagan" pantheon) have seen their worshippers go into hiding. The gods have followed them there. They'll continue to follow us - accompanying us, supporting us, wherever we find ourselves.
This song recently crossed my mind again after years. Feels like a good prayer tonight.
I pray our Lady keeps you during this time of winter. May Her mantle keep you warm, give you grace, and bless you.

There's a genuine concern about Christian nationalism here in the States with Trump most likely entering office in 2025 and the agendas the Republican party has. Several states are legally requiring the Ten Commandments to be hung up in classrooms, Bible stories to be taught in classes, PragerU curriculums to be utilized. Our country's children- and us- are going to be endrenched in Christian ideology beyond any cultural norms we've ever seen, and we need to be vigilant about who we're getting our information from and putting our trust in.
To be clear, I do NOT think all Christians are Christian nationalists, nor are all Christians the bad guys. Liberal and non-Trumpie Christians are our allies. The kind of Christianity I'm talking about here is Evangelical Christianity- the kind that commands sharing your religion with other people so they don't go to Hell, giving up control of your personhood in favor of what the Bible teaches and church believes.
Thankfully, Evangelical Christianity has a lot of special lingo, and they love to cycle through the same talking points. This isn't some mystery we know nothing about- this is something, like anything else, we can use critical thinking to track and reason through. As a former Evangelical Christian living in the Bible Belt, here's some buzz points you're going to want to be aware of. Please feel free to add on if I missed anything, or correct me if I got anything wrong.
