About me:

I'm an Independent Filianist, Filianism being a religion that views deity as a wholly feminine trinitarian.

I study our scriptures, feminine thealogy, and goddess movement works. In turn, I write long form on my WordPress blog. I am leaning more towards posting on Cerva Madriana page.

I wish to add to Filianism with my findings, experiences, and helpful tools such as calendars and one day books.

I am open to questions and teaching what I understand, however I empower others to study and learn what is truth for themselves. I am in no way an authority, just happy in my path and helping the community how I can.

May we walk in love, learning to be receptive to the light of the divine and grow into our true selves.

ETA: since I get new followers on occasion, I'd just like to add that: I am an intersectional feminist, open and welcoming, but I do not tolerate intolerance. My focus on this space is exploring what independent Filianism means to me as a spiritual, leftist, and modern woman. The original faith was made by women (and some others, men included) who held more conservative views than I. I try to approach topics with nuance and multiple perspectives, and I have disagreements on varying topics in the faith. However, I admire the structure and thought that went into what was done by my predecessors and I try to build what is right for me and hopefully others. I do wish to one day have an in person group to worship God/Goddess, but I realize I may be a solitary practitioner for quite some time. This space will grow and change as I develop, as I am constantly working to improve myself to become a better person.

The “Lady” in the name “ladybug” is the virgin Mary. People just cannot stop giving religious names to this bug.

The reason for this was that if you lived in an agrarian society then your survival was a throw of the dice every year, depending on the success of the crops. A failed crop year is a very hard year where deaths are expected. And if you grew a cereal like wheat, there were several things that could cause your crops to fail, but one of the big ones was if you happened to get a fuckton of aphids. You know what eats aphids? Ladybugs! If there are lots and lots of ladybugs around, there was a good chance that it’d be a good crop year! They were little crop protectors! When your family lives or dies on the success of that crop, of course they’d be seen as a blessing and given an appropriate name!

I was wondering if you often talk to other filianists? I find that there’s many people on tumblr, but they don’t often talk about whether they’re in groups together, and I’m interested in what goes on behind the scenes. I guess it’s just nice to think about in person filianist communities :)

I do indeed - there are some private spheres online that we gather in. Unfortunately, we are spread out quite a ways so certainly difficult to gather in-person, but it is a goal of mine and others to one day have in-person communities.

This might be a weird question.

In the Clear Recital, if I am reading it correctly (I admit, I have not read the entire book, just the sections on the creation of the universe and the Daughter's "Passion" story), the Daughter descends into the Underworld in order to bring Her light to every place in the cosmos.

Does that mean that the Snake no longer exists, as there is now nothing which doesnot know Dea's light?

Also, what is the relationship between the Snake and the Dark Queen? The Dark Queen and her daughters seem to appear out of nowhere and disappear just the same. I find it rather strange.

Rather very good questions that I'm happy to answer!

To start, many within the community rather refer to Snake as "Kear Beast" as this is nearer to it. I best explain Snake as the propensity of the physical world towards inertness, or entropy. From the text: "It had not energy nor delight, but only weight." (Note: I don't define Snake as male or female). Snake, or Kear Beast, is the pull towards disorder, inertness, even nihilism. Dea's Light does indeed reach all portions and depths however since we are beings with choice, we can choose to move further from Dea (widening/increasing kear). The Snake is that pull towards giving up/nihilism.

To fold into you next portion then, if one moves further from Dea it can swing towards more sinister choices which would be the realm of the Dark Queen. The original Madrians did not leave many notes on her or her daughters but there is mention that her daughters are the inverse of the Greater Janyati and their associated virtues. In my interpretation, she was driven out by Dea's Light but still exists, as there is clearly still evil in this world (especially by people making abhorrent choices). The salvific nature of the faith is such that anyone can again return to Her and Her Light, though it may take one several lifetimes, but ultimately every soul is redeemable. The Three paths spoken of in the Crystal Tablet are the foundation of life and redemption within Filianism.

how likely do you think it is that filianism would one day be able to have in-person fellowship? how long do you think it would take to reach this point and how would it be accomplished?

Excellent question.

Right now it's difficult to place a timeline, but unfortunately it is a ways out.

Ideally, if we have interested people, we can start with at least some online services, and branch out from there as interest grows.

If we have Filianists who are closer to groups and events of similar paths, such as goddess groups, there is potential for sharing space and growth there as well. I know I would very much do this were I not so isolated!

But for now, if there are those interested in online study groups, prayer groups, or online services, I would be more than happy to facilitate these.
