about us

Hello. We are the firefly herd/system. Our collective name is Nashoba. We are a 20 year old intersex transgender man, he/it/they pronouns. We are nonverbal severely disabled(physically and mentally) and a full-time powerchair user. Severely autistic and cognitively impaired. Our disabilities affect every part of us and make it hard to word things right, or makes our reactions different than mosts. some posts might not make sense or be repetitive because of this.

We are not human in any way, we are a chincoteague pony, but we also have the dna of various canines and a form that shapeshifts a lot. we don't mind questions about any of this.

It depends alter to alter but some of our special interests are the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series, Pokemon, video games, stuffed animals, equine and canine.

We love stuff like asks, tags or messages even if you're not a mutual if you have something to tell, show or ask us.

Mother is extremely controlling over me, not sure how I only just realized this but yeah. I have always felt im very similar to Rapunzel and mother similar to mother Gothel. A good parallel. Really good one.

I'd asked her if I could go to the movies alone and she immediately says "we can work up to that, I know how people are" I'm 20 fucking years old. With my human brother and sister, its 'they can do whatever they want because their adults.' I am to. I mean i guess with my disabilities, yeah I am a lot different then them and if it was something like 'can I go to the grocery store alone' I'd understand having to build up for that. But not the theater. That seems like the best first place to be alone in public for the first time, all shed have to do is go shopping or do whatever, then head back to the theater when the movies over. I dont think that needs a build up.

She wants to keep me dependant on her forever, she likes the control she has over my entire life. Its horrifying, really. I'm completely stuck in her control, can't progress in any way because she wouldn't allow it. Get out of her control sooner or later wether she likes it or not. Getting away from her seems the only way

Most parents of severely disabled children (wether adult or not) would be wanting their children to have any independence they can, wouldn't they?

Wait know i understand the movie more I wish I could by using clues and stuff but it's always that I have to look up the meaning unless it's obvious. Maybe if I watched more movies id eventually understand on my own?

backrooms was fun to see. We had a really good time. Especially having the audio description device and subtitles devices, for the first time in our life we where able to fully enjoy a movie in a theater and not miss things because of being DeafBlind. I was able to see the screen better than I thought I would and im pretty sure its because of having those(still pretty blurry and not what a sighted person would see but still.) And the wheelchair seating was just the right spot that I didn't have to bend my head to look at the screen or to far. I transfered into one of the companion seats because fuck sitting in my wheelchair that has no cushions. And it was so good because it was recliner seats so I was comfortable and not having a ton of blood pooling in my legs.

The workers didn't know if the assistive device would work but thankfully they did. The subtitle device kept saying low battery towards the middle of the movie though. Thankfully it stayed on through the end. The workers where really good with it though. A guy came to help with setting it up and even went and grabbed brand headphones cause the others where yikes. I do wonder if maybe I had brought my headphones if it would work? The device made it where one ear had the AD and the other had the movies soundtrack. Which also helped a lot with hearing the movie(did decided to pull the movie part off close to the end because idk why cause I heard better with them. Next time I will just keep em on. This is what the devices looked like cause I think thats cool

Also went to eat at a Chinese/sushi buffet and got ice cream. And then while we waited for the movie to start played in the arcade and I won these(keychain is a harmonica). There was Dance Dance Revelation, I really wish I could have played it but the crane games where fun.

I wish we had also been able to go see Project Hail Mary, I am pretty sure I will love that movie so seeing it in theaters would have been awesome. See if maybe I can start going to the movies often? Even if the little theater closer to us doesn't have any assistive devices. Maybe i could get a job there at the small theater? Its all the way 30 mins away that theater, but so is bros job and idk. Being to unrealistic. Dont think there even hiring or that they'd hire a nonverbal cripple with no high school diploma to be a janitor or something. Be a quicker way to get a new wheelchair if i had a job and also saving up for getting out of here when that can happen. Back to movie stuff though. I sat in a row on my own, which I guess maybe sucks a little cause we thought itd be a day to spend with our human brother. But it felt cool sitting alone, like I was there on my own, and even interacting with the worker on my own(albeit without even using my aac and just nodding or shaking my head.) Felt independent. Also brought Fudge of course. I wanted to bring Juneau but he still has some red smudges? On him and needs a wash.

Movie spoilers

I really liked the scene at the table, where Mary started yelling at Clark telling him that she couldn't help him and that he was saying he was like the way he was because its how his brain is wired. A line that really stuck out that I really felt: "Blame your brain- you are your fucking brain, you dipshit!"(had to look this up because I couldn't remember the exact quote.) Ouch. And the whole scene was good. Especially the scene where Clark scalps the backrooms version of his wife(that was wasnt it?) And sets the hair on Marys head. And the "and tge best part? You can eat them. " part. wish the movie was longer. Felt to quick. Kit liked the movie a lot though. It was mostly the one out i think. Id give it a 6/10? Was enjoyable but honestly I think i could go see a super boring movie in a theater and still enjoy it. I really want to go to the movies more. Hopefully see a double feature or even more this year? At least one more single movie. I think that new hunger games movie? That'll be our in November. I hope they do the old hunger games movies cause I would love to see the original hunger games in theaters.

Fuck offffff. Feels like im being taunted. I know its just advertisement shit but still. Go to look at stuff as a distraction and immediately get exactly what im trying to not think about.

Though will having a proper(or close as proper as we can get measurements.) Even be much of a change? Dont fucking know. It'd Def be a improvement and a huge help to daily life but will havin the chair make it where we get to go out the house more often? Attempting to learn to drive? Actually havin a life?

I do know i need to go to sleep. To many thoughts and I feel bitter and anxious and angry. Visions all fucking weird and distant

Just remembered this mountain bike we had gotten when we where 11? It was mostly black with pink. I forgot we knew how to ride a bike. Pretty sure that bike is stil In the yard somewhere, definitely rusted and destroyed though.

Thinking about it cause i really want a handcycle. Would unlock so much more terrain. One day. Hopefully when I get the new wheelchair whenever that be, that it will do decent. Need to get more muscle in my arms for that to work. I want to start that soon. And also complicated transfers. I think that im just going to say fuck it and start it myself. Mother keeps saying that she wants to get a hoyer lift before I try to learn floor transfers. Bullshit she ain't buying one i know that for a fact. Just have to get myself to the floor and spend however long it takes for me to figure it out. I do not want to have a repeat of when we where in a public bathroom and miscalculated a transfer and ended up on the floor and a stranger having to help our step mother to get us back in our chair. Want to be able to do it myself. Also to have muscley arms. Already have a tiny bit but not much and only the top part near our shoulders. Knowing those transfer will help a lot in trying to relearn to walk too. Bad night of wishing that we could just fucking talk and walk.

This is Unhelpful their head got really tiny when they became a adult and I love them. They like staying alone, I think because none of the other dogs like them because they have the rude trait.

No dogs with extra or less legs(less is a thing isn't it? I know wings are) playing on human brothers laptop, more tomorrow if he doesn't ask for it back as soon as in the morning I doubt since he said download whatever games I want so might have it for a few days to play. Played a bit of papa's cupcakeria and freezeria, also saw that cool math has games for stuff like learning finance stuff? Check it out and see if I can understand it at any amount. Not sure financial stuff is ever something well be anle to do on our own but still. The math games that are on there would be helpful especially if theres any on more advanced math. Probably just end up on wobble dogs. Should be a wobble dog tomogachi like Keychain and then you keep your favorite dog on it and they wont die

Also sushi Thursday! And maybe cupcakes from a cupcake place! Bro was saying how we could go out to eat and had asked me if i i knew this cupcake place that I do and love and he said we might get cupcakes as well. After movie Im pretty sure.

Wont be seeing project hail mary in theaters:( going Thursday to see Backrooms. Some day buy phm to watch it after I finish the book. On blu ray or DVD hopefully

Worked out in the end I suppose. Since todays migraine i doubt I woukd have been able to enjoy the movies anyway. Till Thursday gives me a good amount of time to recover (and if i still have a bad migraine I dont care im pushing through it. Watch with sunglasses on if i have to. Not like ill be able to see much anyway. Would say i will just listen to the audio description but id like to see whatever of the movie I can.)

I wonder if Lavenza already can detect migraines? Have a bad one and shes curled up at the crook of my shoulders and neck and was scream meowing before she. Could just be her being a kitten and wanting to be close but it would be real helpful if she already knows when im having a migraine, hooves crossed she can detect before I have them. The meds you can just buy dont seem to work like that where it will stop a migraine before it starts but maybe taking it early will help. I cant wait to get a service dog though:( migraine alert would definitely be one of the lower tasks since service dog would be for psychiatric tasks as priority. Maybe have a tandem team of a small dog that does psych tasks and a bigger dog/maybe mini horse who does mobility, medical alerts.

Having a buddy curled up with me does help emotionally at least.
