Exalted: The Infernals
Have you wanted to explore a political game from the perspective of powerful villains, exacerbating a conflict so one might hatch their evil schemes in the unfolding chaos? do you like games with heavy political intrigue in the vein of a classic World of Darkness game, but with the fantasy aspect of the average D&D campaign? well, i have just the game for you... The realm, according to many the last true bastion of civilization in the world, is crumbling. the Scarlet Empress, the immortal leader of the realm, vanished 5 years ago during the Inauspicious time of calibration, and since her disappearance monsters from the ancient past have begun to resurface around the world. once the realm would have responded with armies to put down these Anathema, but since the empress' disappearance the great houses of the realm have been fearful to send out their soldiers, they fear the coming war for succession and what it will mean for the realm. unknown to all the Anathema have found their ways into the very heart of the realm. these anathema work to prepare the realm for the coming of their masters, the ancient and terrible architects of the world once bound away by the champions of humanity to secure creation for the gods. these architects, once called the primordials, now called the Yozi, wish to usher in a new age, free from the tyranny of the realm... and possible from sanity. These Yozi have made one critical mistake, however; they have underestimated the power and possibilities of their new champions. yes, they loyal *for now* but who knows what awaits these champions as their power grows? and what can really be said of their loyalties? do they truely wish to bring an age of Yozi dominance to the world once again, or have they simply created new prison wardens better suited to the task of keeping the yozi locked away? will our champions be the saviours of the yozi, or will they once again return to protecting a creation they once called home? this is a pay to play game payable through [Startplaying.games](https://startplaying.games/) the game its self is played over discord.com for voice, and on roll20.net for the VTT 15$ per session New players (or players new to the system of exalted) are encouraged to give it a try! this is a table that is LGBTQIA+ friendly and allows an absolute 0 tolerance polity for racist, sexist, transphobic, or homophobic behaviors. we are inclusive but protective! due to the nature of the game we will be doing a session 0 and making a list of taboo topics that will not be allowed at the table. I look forward to sharing this wonderfully weird and fun game with you! @trappedinavelociraptor i actually don’t have a whole lotta well-formed thoughts on alchemicals, unfortunately! i’ve always been more drawn to Creation/YuShan/The Underworld as a setting space to play in mentally, and Autochtonia and its exalts are so removed from everywhere else that they haven’t really been on my mental radar all that much. i have always really been drawn to the Gunstar Autocthonia au setting though and would love to play in that space somehow someday either as a dm or by producing some other kind of content, so I really should see what’s out there on them.
Oh man, I LOVE Autochthonia!
The concept of the world is one that really got to me as a young rivethead/goth teen. the idea of being inside a vast machine, whose heartbeat is of steam and fire, surrounded by metal and the constant hum of electrical power is somehow very epic to me, especially when all the cities are vast metropoli built through the bodies of massive humanoids (i imagine most are visually akin to Buddhist or Hindu statues) holding aloft neighborhoods in the palms of their (possibly many) hands.
As far as actual setting goes the estasian/sovan conflict presented in the compass of celestial directions is really interesting. It reads like a cold war sceneario where the collapse of one side leads to a cthonic horror story.
I ran a game based around the first edition scenario called “engine of extinction” for a while, with an assembly of alchemicals trying to save the maker at first from the vast failing systems within their city, then from the plague that sweeps through the population after the seal of 8 divinities is broken. It was a fairly successful campaign until the First and Forsaken Lion showed up and murdered everybody, as deathlords do. The coolest part of the game was really when we delved into the politics of autochthonia, with the tripartite assembly trying to bring order to the “barbarians” of creation. I mean, the eventual breaking away of the theocracy when the solars began teaching the luminaries about the unconquered sun and converting large portions of the populace, and the subsequent fall of the theocracy to the void after their leader got replaced by Meticulous owl (the Abyssal champion of the first and forsaken) was possibly one of the most tragic tales i got to tell for a group.
honestly, its a really cool setting. i highly suggest playing in it or running a game in it at the nearest possible opportunity.
Why are cishet men like this…
Only good response.

Another mini I just finished sculpting. He’s supposed to be a undead druid that is being kept alive by the forest he protects.
Let me tell you why you want this program.
You tweak the settings, tell it to do the thing, and it makes a city map.
BUT WAIT. Export the map, open it in Photoshop, and use the magic wand to separate the different layers of the map. It’s pretty easy, because everything has sharp edges and flat colors…and then start applying layer effects as needed to make your map look like an actual map.
Bam. Huge fantasy city. All I did was layer effects and add a few simple shapes to make some custom buildings, and a crunkly texture for funsies.
Also the program has a tendency to suddenly disappear off the internet and be unfindable for months at a time, but it’s free, so grab it while the grabbin’ is good, fellow DMs, GMs, writers, and other worldbuilders.
Reblogging this because tabletop gaming is suddenly cool and that’s great.
