🔥Saber paused what they were doing, he raised a brow as he stopped sharpening his sword. "...If your talking about him, he did this to himself." He muttered, their tail flicking slightly behind them as they narrowed their eyes. A bit of smoke escaping them as they shook their head as they moved to get up. Of course, their words held meaning. Since even though they were no longer considered themselves friends with the prisoner, it was because of that old friendship that they hadn't seen just how corrupt they were.
[ His pointed ears drooped a bit as he let out a sound half between a hum and a sigh, their tail wrapping absentmindedly around their ankle as they watched Saber work. In the heat of his workshop, they could practically feel the spores threaded into their being entering that familiar state of defensive dormancy they'd been forced into so many times before. It almost made him shiver- how cruelly ironic. ]
"...Yeah, I- I guess he did." [ Galileo found himself picking at the bandages wrapped around his palms with the uttered words, unable to lift his head and meet the other's gaze head-on. Quickly thinking better of the idle habit, he laced his hands together on his lap, instead watching them sharpen their sword with an idle tilt of his head. The bells along the edges of his mushroom cap hat jingled along with the movement. ]
"It's just- I can't help but wonder why. He - WE - could've done something. Gone somewhere. Been something. And he went and-" [ He put one hand out in a circular motion in his annoyance, unable to put words to it. ] "You know. He's changed for the worse. He's... Not the guy we used to be friends with. Not anymore. I think... I think the power got to his head, Saber."

🐻❄️The being tilted their head, watching the other with beady black eyes. That eerie smile etched on their face almost seemed to twitch, as the silence stretched on before the speaker on their chest seemed to crackle to life. After all, it had considered this and had been preparing an appropriate response.
"haha. No."
The bear looking like creature moved slightly, leaning towards them as the energy in the air seemed to shift. The aura surrounding the entity becoming much more oppressive, menacing.
[ His ears flattened against his head as Cucurucho drew closer, wings shifting uncomfortably against his back as he took a step away. Every alarm bell in his head was screaming at him to get out, get away, and he knew for a fact he'd be screwed if he didn't listen. He couldn't count how many times his intuition had saved him before. He wasn't gonna let the thing in front of him change that now. ]
"Nope. Thanks. We're done here." [ Dan swerved past the bear as he let his wings vanish into the tattoos on his back, attempting to make his way to the doors. If he can just get out of the building, he can fly home. No doubt the Federation would be hunting him down for direct defiance- but that was a later issue. ] "I have a child to be getting home to. Nice talk, Rucho."

🐝Tobin had been busy working away on fixing his prosthetic when their communicator buzzed. Lifting their goggles slightly, he glanced over at the message; their brow furrowing slightly. After a moment or so, he was back to tinkering away, after all, he needed his prosthetic working so that he could do heavy lifting in the morning. Sure it wasn't necessary for minor things since he had gotten used to functioning without it before having gotten their prototype one back in the day.
<Tobin messaged Cyrus>: Yeah I'm awake. Just fixing my arm.
<Tobin messaged Cyrus>: You're free to come over. Front door is open.
<Tobin messaged Cyrus>: I'm up the stair case and down the left hall.
[ Her head had been buried in her arms against her desk since she'd sent them that message, a half-hearted protest against the developing migraine pressing against the back of her eyes. Memories had been barraging her relentlessly for hours now - the walls, her old friends, the discs, exile - and it left her trembling, begging for it all to go away. To spare her. Just once, just enough for her to breathe. ]
[ His ears twitched at the buzz of his communicator, scowling slightly before he quickly thought better of it. Propping himself up onto his elbows, he reached out and picked up the communicator, frosty blue eyes hovering on the notifications. His gaze softened. ]
[ Anyone else would've seen those messages and thought they were being dismissive. Absent. But Cyrus knew Tobin. She knew better than that. ]
<Cyrus messaged Tobin>: aight.
<Cyrus messaged Tobin>: ill be over soon. thx.
[ She pulled her jacket over her shoulders, and she was off. Chances were solid she zoned out the majority of the way, as she hardly remembered the walk, not processing much outside of the idle motion of left, right, left, right, until her hand pressed to the cold metal of the front door's handle. She found herself staring up at the walls of Tobin's house for a few moments before pushing the door open and wandering inside. ]
"Tobiiiin," [ Cyrus called out into the empty main room. Did she expect them to hear her? Not in the slightest. But it felt weird to just stroll in without announcing herself. ] "I'm hereee..."

🥃The ram hybrid snorted slightly, lightly swirling his glass that was filled with 'diet coke' since having been brought back and having to work at the casino, they had been cursed to not be able to drink. Similar to a certain god who was stuck as a camp director. Lifting their drink up to sip at, they grinned sharply at the other. "Oh please. Me? Become food for 'vultures'? You have so little faith." Honestly, dealing with people despite their... instances... was easy enough. Especially since most people didn't know who he was so it made it easier to play them.
[ The casino was already bustling by the time he'd had the chance to make his way down to the main lobby for a drink. They'd had three cheaters already tonight, one of them being one of his dealers- it all pissed him off, but what better could you expect in running a gambling capital? Nobody within Las Nevadas' walls wasn't a crook in one way or another. Besides, wandering down here gave him a chance to bother his dear friend. The duck hybrid leaned casually against the counter as he listened to their words, giving a low scoff as he tapped his knuckles against the stone. ]
"Yeah, as if you haven't proven that's well within your skill set numerous times before." [ Alex chuckled, resting his chin against the palm of his hand. He loved bothering Schlatt - not his fault it was so damn easy to get a rouse out of the guy. ] "Just had to make sure you didn't decide to bite the dust on my nice tile floors. We got 'em redone recently, y'know."
She carefuly listened to Phil before a sigh escaped her lips.
"Arthor can be rather troublesome... I can see what I can do dear. It's been a while, At least twenty years... There's a possiblity that their body has already decomposed... It takes 5-10 years in a coffin and 5 years without to decompose, Phil."
She carefully raised a hand to her own chin, thinking carefully. Her eyes closing as she thought.
"... You would need a vessel to put the soul in. A recently deceased soul needs to agree with Arbour to inhabit or... making them a body from Clay. That is what's needed first, I'm not opposed to it considering how they died... But this is what's needed to be done."
"...Her. Yeah. Author's not one I'd normally reckon with, but... She's one of ours. You know how far I've gone for our kids before."
[ Phil listened to her words and let out a low sigh at the instructions, crossing his arms behind his back in thought. ]
"Well... I don't know of anyone who's died recently. Let alone anyone who'd be willing to give up their body for her. But I can see about finding some clay to make them a new host..."
[ He scratched his beard for a moment before lifting his head to meet Kristen's gaze once more. Something in those depths of icey blue glittered, determined. ]
"Any idea where I'd need to go to find that? Is it a specific sort of clay, or...?"

"Who's this by his side? Why, it's none other than his bouncing baby boy."
"Together these two are destined to finally find a route through these impassable peaks. No matter the cost."
"The path to the other side of the mountains is through this cave. How are you holding up?"
"Pretty sure all my toes are frozen off, so at least they don't hurt anymore."
"As I always say, exploration is snow joke."
"This is exactly what we need."
"Another close call, eh?"
"They'll be telling our story for generations to come."
"What about these plants? There's literally power surging through them."
"I do love your inquisitive spirit, but our crew didn't come all this way just to get distracted."
"The crew has been training since they were a baby to do one thing."
"That one thing is to talk with me beyond that horizon."
"Did you ever bother to even ask the crew if that's what they really wanted?"
"They're not really talking about the crew, are they?"
"We're explorers, not gardeners. Conquering those mountains is our legacy."
"Enough. You're my son."
"We don't actually know what's past the mountains."
"You'll need this to find your way home."
"You can't survive out there alone."
"Ugh, I enjoy our little talks."
"It looks like after a week of downpours, we finally have a beautiful, sunny day ahead of us."
"Ew. This is the first image that has to be imprinted on my brain this morning?"
"Does this bother you?"
"What is a weed other than a plant growing somewhere that you find inconvenient?"
"I appreciate how clever you are."
"You see? So clever."
"Yeah, yeah. Boundaries. Got it."
"I knew I should've camped out."
"Don't worry. We didn't forget about you."
"I didn't see you there. Not that you're not noticeable."
"I knew you had to work this morning so I made sure we grabbed you a pack."
"We have allotted three to five minutes of cute flirtation."
"I hear the new creatures are steep."
"Isn't your grandpa, like, a famous explorer? Maybe it's in your blood."
"He kinda looks like you. Except for that."
"He talks about you all the time. Not all the time. Maybe sometimes or on occasion."
"Apologies that my dad is so dad."
"I see why you like him."
"I remember my first crush."
"What is happening to my life?"
"You know, he's gonna grow up to be just like me."
"I bet your dad would be really proud of everything you've accomplished."
"You clearly don't know anything about your grandpa."
"He's my grandfather. I want to know about him. From you."
"To me, he was just a really bad dad."
"He didn't care about me. He only cared about conquering those mountains."
"I guess that's what makes you a pretty good dad."
"I opened my mouth and no words came out."

"We need you to figure this out, otherwise we're doomed."
"Can you please earn your paycheck and fly us down?"
"Whatever it is, it knows your name."
"I've been trying to flag you down for the last four hours. Our son is on your ship."
"Head inside. I got this."
"Hey, razor face. Yeah, come and get me."
"Brace yourself."
"Did you have any idea all of this was down here?"
"We are definitely off the map now."
"We have no idea what that is. Get that out of your mouth."
"Let's get back to our family."
"I'm a human being from the top world."
"You probably don't understand a word I'm saying, do you?"
"Of course I understand you. What do you think I am, one of those mindless monsters?"
"We are clearly in uncharted territory. I know you're all feeling scared, I am too. But the mission remains the same."
"What about my dad? Shouldn't we be saving him first?"
"You can't just leave him out there."
"No one's leaving anyone."
"I know you're worried about your dad, but I've seen him out in the field firsthand. He knows how to survive."
"Fixing this ship is the priority."

"You're not my son."
"You're probably just some oddly shaped rock that my eyes want to believe is a person."

"That's exactly what an oddly-shaped rock would say."
"Would an oddly shaped rock know that you gave me a machete for my birthday?"
"I'm real, Dad. It's really me."
"Well, let's get moving. We've got no time to lose."
"Will you get that off your head?"
"It's not pretty, but it'll get us back airborne."
"The three things I love the most are my family, my farm, and flying."

"You can do it. Just be brave. It's in your blood."
"This is so weird, but also kinda cool."
"It's okay, it's okay. I'm friendly, see?"
"See? We're all friends."
"Okay, yeah, I guess I deserved that."
"Hey, that's my dad's. Where'd you get that?"
"Can you bring me to him?"
"I'm so lucky I ran into you."
"By the way, you're not dangerous, right? I mean, you don't look dangerous."
"I have so many questions. Like, for one, what is this place?"
"Funny little goobers, aren't they?"
"Every time I blaze a trail, they un-blaze it."
"How did you even end up down here?"
"After months of battling the elements, I figured there was no way anyone could ever survive walking over those cold, deadly peaks. So I went searching for a new path."
"It occurred to me, instead of going over those mountains, I'll go under them. Even if I had to fight every monster down here."
"Nothing was going to stop me from fulfilling my destiny."
"You literally discovered a world beneath our world, and that's not enough?"
"This discovery may be fine for some second-class explorers, but not for us."
"Your mom has a lot of explaining to do."
"She's gone, Dad."
"Dead? No, she's not dead."
"Twenty five years. We thought you were dead for twenty-five years. What did you think was gonna happen?"
"I've always hated him. I hate his name, and I'll probably hate his face."
"This place is so crazy."
"Who knew that this was all down here?"
"You know this was down here because you're from here, but it's not like this up top."
"These colors are so trippy."
"Wait, are you offended? I can't tell."
"You know what? I'll just follow you."
"Climbing isn't really part of my day-to-day."
"You just forgot everything I taught you?"
"Scoff all you want."
"Bet they even give me a statue in the town square."
"You already have a statue."
"You have a statue? What, do they just give statues to everybody these days?"
"So much for the whole humble farmer bit, huh?"
"Maybe you're more like me than you want to admit."
"I am nothing like you."
"There's someone else out there."
"They only got one job, to lure you to your death."
"Hey, we're still looking for my dad, right?"
"Here, it's okay. I can help you with that. Let me see."
"You can trust me."
"Are these friends of yours?"
"I don't see my dad anywhere."
"Whoa! What are these things?"
"They're not gonna eat us, right?"
"Come on! Stop embarrassing me out here!"
"He just saved my life."
"You know, I was a part of that rescue too."
"He just saved your life."
"You ain't seen nothing yet, kid."
"Can you not show off while we are running for our lives?"
"Calm down. The kid's alright."
"How are you my dad?"
"Oh, you want to have that conversation?"
"Don't you mom me!"
"Once we get home, your butt is grounded for life."
"Okay. So. They're smarter than they look."
"Oh, I'm so glad you're safe. You had me so worried."
"It's so cute. I wanna merchandise it."
"Other side of the mountains, here I come."
"That's not what we're here to do."
"You know what I find boring?"
"As we can all see, we are on a clock, but after we do that, there's nothing stopping us from continuing on to the other side of the mountains."
"Sound like a fair deal?"
"Care to do the honors?"
"I guess this makes us official."
"Just don't make me look bad in front of my family."
"Seemed pretty harmless to me."
"So, you're my grandson, huh?"
"That's the rumor."
"Tell me about yourself. What are you into?"
"Any sweethearts waiting for you back home, huh?"
"I really like him a lot. I just don't know how to tell him, because I just get this. I always get so this."
"Let your grandpa give you come solid advice. If you really, really want to impress this fella, this is what you do."
"All that sounds like a really toxic way to start a relationship. Not to mention crazy dangerous."
"We love danger! Go ahead, give it a try."
"Maybe a flamethrower isn't his thing."
"I appreciate your appreciation, but maybe we let the kid decide."
"I appreciate your appreciation, but maybe you'll appreciate me a little bit more and respect my wishes, please."
"Maybe you should step out of my air."
"I don't think we have the luxury of playing games."
"Can someone trade me a weapon?"
"Are you ready to deal with a demon spider?"
"The demon spider was the only thing keeping the murder locusts from destroying all your resources. Congrats, you're dead."
"The objective isn't to kill or destroy monsters. You're just supposed to build a working civilization utilizing the environment around you."
"Yeah, I don't get this game."
"Can we conquer the monsters and use them as a weapon?"
"Monsters aren't weapons."
"Check out my new weapon."
"What kind of game has no bad guys?"
"You know what? You want bad guys? Fine. You two are the bad guys."
"Teenagers, right?"
"Can you go be dramatic somewhere else?"
"You all have eyeballs, right? We're all seeing the same thing, yeah?"
"That's acid. No one can fly through that."
"This is gonna be awesome."
"Whew! So glad we're not dead!"
"Get off my ship."
"You don't happen to have another one of these, do you?"
"it's okay. I got a better weapon."
"Who taught you how to throw?"
"This is how you throw. Center your weight, breathe in, focus, and follow through."
"You see? It's all in the follow through."
"I love being outside and being my own boss."
"I like that I can pour my heart and soul into what I'm growing. You know, make sure it becomes exactly what I need it to be, something strong that lasts."
"A legacy that my son can be proud of."
"You want to know why I didn't try harder to come home?"
"The thought did cross my mind."
"I've been an explorer my whole life. Chasing that horizon, that's all I've ever known."
"If I gave up on it, what would I be? Who would I be?"
"Too old to change now."
"Let's go get another drink while we still can."
"Huh. Look at that. They're finally getting along."
"Don't let your father hear you say that."
"You wanna take the wheel? I'm dying for a cup of coffee."
"You don't think your dad and I talk?"
"Why is this place so weird?"
"I think this place is...it's kind of amazing."
"I've never seen you so happy as you are down here."
"The farm is so small. The world is so big."
"I just feel like I'm in my element."
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Please don't make it weird."
"Moms can't be weird. We gave birth to you."
"We've got rights, and I'd like to exercise my right to stare at you uncomfortably."
"You have to focus on the road."
"I'm just saying, you should keep exploring those feelings. Might just lead you down some interesting paths."
"I've been down here for years and I've never seen anything like this."
"This doesn't make any sense."
"I can't outrun 'em."
"But why didn't they attack us?"
"Well. Let's even the odds."
"I've lived my whole life without the stuff. You'll be fine."
"Just like how we do it on our fam."
"We came down here to save our farm, and that's what we're gonna do. Together."
"This is more your thing."
"This is our thing."
"It just doesn't feel right to me. I don't want to kill all these creatures."
"Don't think of it as kill. We're just exterminating some pests trying to destroy our crops."
"This is what farmers do."
"This doesn't sound like you."
"This is probably the most me I've ever been."
"I just feel like I'm in my element when I'm exploring this world."
"There's just so much to discover here."
"Are you saying you want to be an explorer?"
"Is this because of him?"
"Are you trying to brainwash my son?"
"Will you trust me? You do not want to be like him."
"The only thing he cares about is himself."
"I know you, and this isn't you."
"You just assume I'll follow in your footsteps, but you never asked me what I wanted."
"You're a kid. You don't know what you want."
"I know I don't wanna be you."
"My whole like, I worked so hard to be the exact opposite of my dad. And, uh, looks like I ended up just like him."
"I just wanted so badly to build you a legacy you could be proud of, but I mighta got a little bit caught up in it."
"I think we're on the other side of the mountains."
"There is nothing but water out there."
"That's an eye, right? A really, really big eye."
"You know what this means, right?"
"If this place has an eye, it has to be attached to a head. And if this place has a head, that means what we've been travelling through this entire time was its insides."
"This place is alive. It's a living thing."
"All this time, we've been living on the back of this giant creature?"
"I don't know what you just said, but I'm pretty sure it was inappropriate."
"You have to turn the ship around. Mission's over."
"This place is not what it seems."
"They don't know what they saw out there."
"I'm gonna see this for myself."
"Are you serious? This world is dying."
"What do you know about this world?"
"What do I know about this world?"
"I dedicated my whole life to doing something that no one has ever done, and I did everything I could to train you up so that you could be right there with me when I did it."
"This was supposed to be our legacy."
"You wanna talk about legacy? I'm about to destroy mine."
"Get your hands off me."
"Emotions are running really high right now, and I don't know what you think you saw."
"You have no idea what you're doing."
"Please, you gotta listen to me!"
"You can't do this! You have to listen to me!"
"You think you can reach your arm under here and up to the door handle?"
"That's mama's baby!"
"Can you not yell at my dog?"
"I wouldn't yell if he were actually trained."
"I'm not qualified to fly this ship. It is all yours."
"You keep our son safe out there."
"He is not coming with me."
"I'm sorry if I ever made you think that you had to be a farmer to make me proud. I'm always proud of you."
"Hey, guys. Remember me?"
"Now do you see what we're dealing with?"
"That's a heart."
"My legacy isn't those mountains. It's you."
"Let's do this. Father and son."
"Who's ready to go home?"
"I spent my whole life wondering about this moment. What'd it be like? What'd it look like? What'd it feel like?"
"Though it's been an incredibly challenging year, it's inspiring to see how resilient people can be."
"The world's clearly changed, and it continues to change. And though we can't live like we did in the past, we've now given ourselves a better chance at a future."
"We're not quite there yet, but we will be."
"The best legacy we can leave is making a present worth opening tomorrow."
"Thank you for everything you've given me."
"I'll do my best to live up to your legacy. I hope I make you proud."
⚙️Why Grian thought it was a good idea to spar with him, he had no idea. Especially since he barely knew how to hold a sword, much less a shield. But he supposes when push came to shove, he could do what was necessary to protect himself. And so here they were, with Mumbo having managed to somehow disarming Grian and throwing them into the ground. Of course, he was breathing a bit heavy because he wasn't used to doing stuff like this. It took them a moment to realize, and his eyes widened as he quickly made his way over to where the other was. "Oh my gosh- oh my gosh- Grian! Grian are you alright?"
[ Sure, he knew he didn't stand all too much of a chance against the man double his size, let alone with far more skill in just about any flavor of combat than him, but Grian had been fairly confident that he could at least hold his ground in a fight... Which he did! For a little bit- At least, until the other managed to fully disarm him, successfully lifting him into the air as if he weighed nothing (which wasn't necessarily wrong) and throwing him across the room. ]
[ The avian yelped sharply at the sudden movement, his wings flaring in alarm- before he thought better of the instinct, tucking his wings against his back to minimize any damage as his shoulder slammed into the ground. Tumbling a few feet, he landed flat on his back as his chest rose and fell in winded huffs. Sage green eyes stared up at the ceiling until a frantic Mumbo popped into his vision, looking towards him for a few moments before letting out a sharp laugh. ]
"Oh my gosh- Mumbo, I'm okay! Really! That was- Dude, that was AWESOME!" [ Grian's wings puffed up in excitement as he pushed himself upright, leaning on the balls of his palms as he shook his hair out of his eyes. His tail was wagging behind him with adrenaline, the feathers on its end adjusting against one another as bright eyes lifted to meet the redstone worker's. ] "You have GOT to teach me how to do that. That was- WOW."
[ He still wasn't entirely sure why she'd chosen to come sit with him. It'd been months after his escape, and everyone had come to terms with his freedom; but something had changed inside Elliott, in that time within that little obsidian box. He'd become quieter, more observant. Less chaotic - more like the little boy Puffy had once known. Gentle pale eyes flicked over the landscape as the satyr's legs - shifted to resemble a human's, for the sake of convenience - hung off of the dock into the water, bare feet gently kicking back and forth through the hardly present current in an idle movement. He'd hardly even noticed Puffy approach, let alone remove her boots and take a seat at his side. ]
[ Elliott could hardly even remember his childhood with Puffy at this point, so many other memories having come into play that those of the simple days had been shoved aside. Gathering dust in the corners of his mind, where they'd been for years; and only now, with the person who'd helped weave them sitting right next to him, did he dare to reach out and brush the dust off of their surfaces. It took every instinct in the demigod's body and mind to keep from leaning against her shoulder out of sheer habit, instead looking towards her as his gaze flicked over her familiar form. Nothing had changed - except for the scatter of scars across her pale skin. Some he knew, some he didn't. And one - what resembled a slash of a sword across her right forearm - caught his attention for some reason, and before he could think better of it, he found himself gently tracing his fingers over the scar. ]
[The silence between the two of them had been comfortable, prior to Tubbo speaking up, Cyrus had been sitting on the end of the dock with their legs hanging off the end, hooves kicking through the water, their best friend at their side. They felt safe. Comfortable. Something they hadn't felt in... Well, fuck if they knew a timeline at this point. Their ears perked a bit at Tubbo's words, glancing over at him with a low hum.]
"Well, we made a few of those. Which one are ya talkin' about?"
[The being tilted their head at him with the question, pulling one leg up out of the water and casually tucking it under their other as they rotated slightly to face him. Their tail swayed behind them as icy blue eyes looked over their partner in crime, carefully tracing the scars they'd become so sickeningly familiar with - one's he never should have received to begin with - as the tip of their tail hovered just above the water's surface.]
" you didn't have to be so reckless just to prove a fucking point. " + [wash] [ harlan to clementine ]

🌻She scoffed slightly, lightly leaning away from his hand as she lightly pushed his wrist away. "Oh please, I wasn't being reckless. If anything I was holding back." Her tail flicking slightly, her hand coming up to smudge some of the blood with the back of her hand as she fixed the other with a odd look. "Why are you even helping me? We don't know each other." At the moment, their action reminded them briefly of their older brother when she had been younger, warming up to him- but if she had known Harlan better, she'd known better. That the two were nothing alike.
[ He gave a low sound in annoyance as she pushed his hand away, winged ears twitching as he flicked her wrist and lifted the cloth in his hand back to the gash in her forehead. ] "Well, even if you supposedly weren't being reckless, you were being stupid. Which is why we're here now."
[ Harlan's tail swayed as he spoke, pulling the washcloth away from the wound for a moment and dipping it in the bowl of soapy water at his side before moving to clean the blood away from her temples. At her question, he paused- his expression didn't quite soften, per say, but some of the tension in his brow let up. He sighed. ]
"You remind me of someone. Someone I could've done a lot better job of protecting."
