hannibal was just. the horniest show on television. thats why it got cancelled. nbc can talk about low ratings or other bullshit, but we all know. that tv show was not just ready to fuck, it was WILLING to fuck. it couldnt be contained, they let that beast loose on television and had no choice but to take it the fuck out, out back and shoot it point blank, because of how horny that show was. the only step to go from where it left off, was for hannibal and will to fuck on screen for 13 minutes, and nbc said “we can’t continue living like this.” so they killed hannibal, that bastard of a television show. god rest its horny soul.

also I learned about this project called “queering the map.” the idea is that in the past gay neighborhoods and gay spaces were very clearly defined bc it just wasn’t safe to be yourself anywhere else. as lgbt+ people become more visible and accepted many feel that we are losing our connection to those spaces
so every dot on this map is basically someone’s queer experience: coming out, meeting their future wife, seeing another gay man in public for the first time, anything you can think of that truly left a mark on them
it started in Montreal and is primarily English-language with most pins dropped in the US, Canada, and Europe, but there are people all over the world who’ve shared their experiences. it’s great to look at places near you but it’s also great to see that even people in places you thought were the middle of nowhere are happy with themselves and finding community and living their lives
It’s here and it’s SO SWEET?? Just clicking around it’s very personal stories, in first person and a lot of them addressed to a specific “you”, and sooo many in extremely poetic language. It feels like an art installation and it’s so beautiful. ;W; Thanks for sharing!!!

It’s no secret to the Japanese that Shinjuku nichome is the gay district of Tokyo but about half the pins left there are for the same club in that area named gold finger. Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking to get involved in the Japanese queer community for whatever reason, it seems.
I have a sneaking suspicion this submission is a haiku when written in Japanese…

I posted this on Facebook…the small Oklahoma town I grew up in has nothing so far, but two of my former classmates are happily married to their same-gender spouses, so I hope they can populate it a little for people who are still there and struggling.

Baby bird season is incoming and I’d like to remind everyone that birds do not have a significant sense of smell. Bird parents will not reject birdlets because you have handled them.
If you see smol birbs with few or no feathers on the ground, you can safely put them back into their nest, bird parents will still care for them.
If you see smol birbs with some or most feathers on the ground, please leave them there, as bird parents are probably nearby watching and feeding.
nakey bird = accidentally fell out, is cold and scared, put back in nest! if you can’t reach the nest, try to put it on a wide branch or fork so predators can’t get at it as easily.
scruffy feather bird = starting to try the fly thing, not very good at it. only put in nest/branch if predators abound, i.e. you have four outdoor cats and they’re licking their chops.
fluffy feather bird = smol fly guy! do nothing. can probably get away from predators and will flip its shit if you pick it up.

It’s confirmed that the oil from human hands will make bird feathers fall off so please if you have to touch the bird be careful and put it to its home
I have no idea where you heard this myth, but it is not true at all… There is no component in a human’s skin oil that will cause feathers to fall off of a bird at any life stage. The oil may stay on the feather until the bird cleans it off, but feathers are actually attached under their skin very strongly and are not going to suffer harm from being touched. I say this as someone who has raised hundreds of fowl and several baby wild birds over the last two decades.

There’s only one thing I kinda want to add to this: some species of bird cannot take off from the ground and have to be on a ledge to get airborne. I had an incident last year where I say a young bird on the ground, with its foot tangled in a weed in a crack in the pavement. Released its foot but it wouldn’t take off, just kept trying to spread its wings and tuck back into crack in the ground (vet said it was likely seeing it as a ledge and trying to take off.) but its wings looked off Eventually got it to a vet, it was a late-clutch swift that had gotten grounded with a sprained wing and couldn’t fly. He explained that some species of bird when learning to fly need to be high up to get airborne and can’t take off from ground level, and that swifts weren’t common to my area anyway so the poor little guy was very confused and underweight and was supposed to be starting the migratory flight south in only a month’s time. He sent me an update a month later that the little guy was off on his way!
TL;DR: even birds with full feathers that are on the ground might need a hand if something doesn’t look right, but watch out because they might flip their shit regardless.

What's Uncomfortable is Not Unbearable, and What's Unbearable Cannot Last Forever
My Old Therapist, 5 years ago. I’ve been having a rough time of it recently between work and mental health, but this piece of advice was something she told me that stuck with me. If something’s uncomfortable, you can push through it and learn to be better than it. If something’s unbearable, you can either bow to it, or you can stand against it, in which case it’s no longer unbearable. I’ve been thinking about this phrase a lot again recently, about how no matter how cold a winter seems, Summer has to come, and how no matter how rough a day is, it will always come to an end...Maybe someone out there needs to hear this today. That you can be strong enough to stand against that which tries you, even if it tires you, and nothing can last forever...
Feeling lonely tonight...it feels like all I do is sleep and work. Work until midnight, come home, eat alone in a darkened kitchen at an empty table, sleep, get up, go back to work, come home in the early hours again to collapse into a bed that’s too small (if I even make it that far). I only speak to the same 3 people and barely ever see them due to work. Even with my hobbies I have so many things to do that I just cannot get done...my sister’s crochet hat, the next chapter of my fic, the music group I work with...nothing matters anymore and I have no time for anything...all I really want, more than anything ele, is someone to hold me for a while and tell me ‘You’re doing good.’ To come home to someone who gives a damn that I’m working two jobs just to try and get somewhere with my life, who is fighting past fears and anxieties and living behind a mask every day just to convince her family she’s holding herself together. I’m lonely, I want my friends, I want to see my family for more than two minutes at a time, I want to have a steady routine that allows me to have fun and work on my fun projects, I want to stop feeling like I’m not good enough, not doing enough, like I’m letting everyone down...
just a lonely night tonight...I’ll be fine come Sunrise...
Writing, crochet, cleaning, crafting, gaming...brain please I don’t care which one we do but give me something. Some motivation. Anything. Just let me feel normal again and get shit done...
