The only day you can reblog until next year
🥳 Happy 35th!!
Happy 39th!!!!
We are one year off from the big 40! 🥳 🎉 🪅
it's funny how "press F to pay respects" was such a gigantic meme that it seems to have permanently affected the way we talk online. people use it completely genuinely and unironically. had a bad day? F. died in a videogame? F. I see it constantly in Discord, Twitch and ingame chats. like it's actually being used as common shorthand. when it only gained prominence because of how hilariously stupid this screenshot is
Except on FB replying F is usually for following a news story, not for respect, so it trips me.
If HoldMyVodka ever had an official artist, it might just be Srulneg.
The Russian artist blends dark humor, vodka, sarcasm and everyday absurdity into paintings that feel like internet memes brought to life.
This one features a mallard smoking a cigarette, carrying a bottle of Absolut Vodka, flipping off a flock of migrating birds, and seemingly deciding that flying south is overrated.
Op turned off reblogs but I MUST
as a writer you will have a specific deck of vocab words you like using a lot and when you read other peoples' work you will see a very clear spread of different vocab words on their end. this is why you need to read, to collect other writers' words like it's a card game
unfortunate truth of reality is that oftentimes 15 year olds will say/do/believe some stupid bullshit because they are 15 but telling them that they believe that because they are 15 is probably the most counterproductive thing in the entire universe
i think humans are meant to lay in bed with the love of their life all winter.
SPOILERS. I watched the new ATLA movie with my husband on Monday. My thoughts are:
Heavy Kataang with Zutara implied by a Spirit then shot down by Aang and Katara cracked me the hell up. I remember after ATLA ended, and there was such a divide in the fandom due to shipping wars. It was and still is ridic. Kataang is canon but that's why we have fanfiction to make people happy. I stopped with shipping ATLA characters bc of people's pushiness.
Aang's obsession with bringing back the Air Nation. I KNEW that he would be obsessed to the core and it would impact his relationship with the Gaang. Luckily they have been through a lot and understand his pain, so they don't hold it against him. I got a WIP for the blank period between ATLA and LOK. It's primarily about Tenzin's and Lin's relationship. But, it also cover's Tenzin's traveling with Aang and his obession with bringing back the Air Nation. It's a passion project of mine since it's a blank period full of opportunity. If interested, it is called Flow.
Predictable storyline. The new character who seems cool af is actually the villain has been overdone. I knew and we knew based on the trailer that it was predictable.
SUKI?! WHAT THE FUCK?! SOOOOOOOOOOO...WHY ARE HER AND SOKKA NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE?! I need answers, BRYKE.
7/10 would watch again after an ATLA rewatch.

Excellent little guy
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again but it is absolutely an example of civilizational inadequacy that only deaf people know ASL
“oh we shouldn’t teach children this language, it will only come in handy if they [checks notes] ever have to talk in a situation where it’s noisy or they need to be quiet”
My mom learned it because she figured she’ll go deaf when she gets old
My family went holiday SCUBA diving once, and a couple of Deaf guys were in the group. I was really little and I spent most of the briefing overcome with the realization that while the rest of us were going to have regulators in our mouths and be underwater fairly soon, they were going to be able to do all the same stuff and keep talking.
The only reason some form of sign language is not a standard skill is ableism, as far as I can tell.
For anyone interested in learning, Bill Vicars has full lessons of ASL on youtube that were used in my college level classes.
https://www.youtube.com/user/billvicars
and here’s the link to the website he puts in his videos:
https://www.lifeprint.com/
Update: you guys this is an amazing resource for learning asl. Bill Vicars is an incredible teacher. His videos are of him teaching a student in a classroom, using the learned vocabulary to have conversations.
Not only is the conversation format immersive and helpful for learning the grammar, but the students make common mistakes which he corrects, mistakes I wouldn’t have otherwise know I was making.
He also emphasizes learning ASL in the way it’s actually used by the Deaf community and not the rigid structure that some ASL teachers impose in their classrooms
His lesson plans include learning about the Deaf community, which is an important aspect of learning ASL. Knowing how to communicate in ASL without the knowledge of the culture behind it leaves out a lot of nuances and explanations for the way ASL is.
Lastly, his lessons are just a lot of fun to watch. He is patient, entertaining, and funny. This good natured enthusiasm is contagious and learning feels like a privilege and not a chore
And it’s all FREE. Seriously. If you’ve ever wanted to learn ASL

He's finished!!!❤️🔥 I am super happy and excited with how he turned out, and I had a lot of fun taking 'irl' photos of him ☺️. It was hard to choose which ones to post. I put a lot of time and love into him, but he deserves it!
