Your family had served the Stark family for some years now.
Now you were a simple serving girl- helping out wherever you were needed. Sometimes helping your mother in the kitchens, sometimes helping your father at the stables.
Your mother and Lady Stark had been pregnant at the same time- with you and with Robb respectively.
You were still very young when Lord Stark brought Jon to Winterfell, so as far you remembered you were always in each others lives.
It was for that reason that you fell in love with him.
Yes, Robb was handsome and kind, but it was Jon’s shy and quiet nature that drew you to him.
You, Jon, Robb, and Theon were known as the troublesome children around Winterfell growing up. But you didn’t like how Theon (and sometimes Robb) acted around Jon. Just because he was a bastard didn’t mean he deserved to be treated worse than them.
Jon was your first kiss. You had to initiate it (Jon’s self-esteem was so low he thought no-one would ever kiss him).
It was after he had caught you in a game of chase. He had caught you in the Godswood, surrounded by the trees and hidden away from the rest of the world.
You were breathless from running, and he was grinning. That secret grin that he only gave you. You quickly kissed him and you will always remember that flush on his cheeks and stutter as he realised what you had done.
You were worried at first… maybe you had read it wrong? But then he quickly kissed you back, only pulling away when he hear Robb and Theon shouting both of your names.
That was when you were twelve. Now you were seventeen and watching Jon as he made his way with his father, and Uncle Benjen leave Winterfell on their horses.
You knew that those who left for the Wall were to never return, but you hoped against hope that something would bring the two of you together again. If only so you could re-enact that first kiss, surrounded by the trees and hidden away from the rest of the world.
