The parallels of Wanda and Anakin:

Both experienced trauma from loss. Wanda losing Vision and Anakin losing his mother and then the fear of losing his wife, Padme.

Wanda has twins. Anakin had twins with Padme, although it was a secret to him.

Padme questions Anakin as Vision questions Wanda.

Trama made them both vulnerable to being manipulated by a much older witch/Sith Lord - to essentially terrorize and control a town or galaxy.

What will happen next?

Does an old wizard come (like Dr. Strange or a multi-verse Professor X) to have the "high ground" and beat her?

Does Wanda redeem herself, like Anakin, by defeating the old witch/Sith Lord?

After reading articles like these and watching countless hours of space documentaries and science fiction, I have come to my own conclusions to share.

The problem with the search for life, is that scientists were using a criteria based on Earth and Humans.

With new technology they are discovering new facts to expand the search criteria and definitions.

Similarly, the defining of civilization on Earth is eurocentric. Early European scholars, during colonialism, defined their scientific fields with themselves as the standard. The byproduct was that everyone else was inferior and it was justifiable to colonize and enslave them. This defined Europe's global expansion.

We somewhat repeat that philosophical self-centerness as humans, in our defining of the universe.

Black women were part of the Joker's villains journey. It can be said, women over all, as he killed his own mother too.

The woman with the kid: He imagined a relationship with her that she would never reciprocate.

Did he kill her, with her child sleeping? Its kind of left implied, but it's possible. I wonder if a deleted scene reveals it. If he killed her, it would be consistent with the character, at that point.

The last Black woman, in Arkham, may have been brutalized to death. Hence the footprints with her blood. Its implied that he murdered her.

The first Black woman, his social worker, was a deliverer of bad news that the program was cut, along with his meds.

Is the "Joker" (2019) this generation's "Birth of A Nation" (1915)?

Is this to Incels what the 1915 movie was for the Klan?

Nostalgia

Sagan is pretty much spot on here...

Carl Sagan tears Star Wars (1977) apart.

Chewbacca not getting a medal from the rebels, was racists. Later it was explained that Wookies do not value medals, but that explanation took over 30 years.

Species-based racism in Star Wars is now acknowledged in the novels, but not in the films.

I saw the film as an Incel self-esteem piece. It might not be the intention, but the context lends the film to play that psychological role.

It was a cross between The Omen and an inverted Superman origin story.

The boy believes he is superior, therefore is justified in dominating another race (species) of people.

Likes a girl, but breaks her hand because she rejected his creepiness.

Sounds like the behavior of awkward single white men after #45 won.

Whereas Superman was the "Champion of the Oppressed", Brightburn is its opposite but in our time of intense reactionary politics.

But instead, we got a psychopath that rationalized genocide to reach his goals.

Shuri never asked this in the film, but I love how this meme is consistent with her character.

Killmonger Mini-series Coming to Marvel in December

Writer Bryan Edward Hill tells us what to expect.

"I see him as a tragic figure, whether you’re talking about Othello or you’re talking about Anakin Skywalker. It’s about a fall of a person that should have been something much better than what he wound up being, and the story is about how he winds up in that place. But because we are watching him evolve and readers aren’t going to encounter an Erik from the beginning of the story that is the Killmonger that we identify with Black Panther. We have to get him to that place. We do that through a little bit of adventure in New York where some cool characters will make their way into the story that I don’t think people would normally expect in a Killmonger story, but I’m really excited to write them. We go overseas and eventually we take him back to Wakanda. Issue by issue, you are chronicling the fall of Erik Killmonger, and that’s the goal."
