And when we really, REALLY donāt want to leave anything unsaid, we say āDonāt come in here and sit there in my chair and tell me that Iām losing my war to a f**king wop.ā
Below the cut is an extensiveĀ fanfic recommendation list for all things Peaky Blinders. Some of these have been submitted to me but most of whatās listed are myĀ personal favorites and pieces I have thoroughly enjoyed.Ā
This is not a permanent list, I will be adding to this as time goes on :D As of now, there is no filtering system for smut and whatnot, but if Iām correct, each post has its own warnings! I will add one eventually but Iām finishing the first version up at 4 AM so bear with me.
And lastly, please enjoy!! (THIS LIST IS NOT IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE)
PART ONE- āIām Rich And Iām Pretty, So It Doesnāt Really Matterā
short seriesā jj x kook!reader
You and JJ hate each otherās guts, youāre a witty, bitchy kook from Figure Eight with signature red cherry lips, and JJās an impulsive, bitchy pogue from The Cut with untreated anger issues. Why wouldnāt you hate each other? But, youāre forced to interact since Sarah and Kiara are your best friends, and Sarah happens to be dating John B, and KiaraĀ happens to be best friends with him and his best friends. What could possibly go wrong? ā not based on the song I Wanna Be Yours by the Arctic Monkeys, but it fit the vibeeeešš
word count- 3k
tw- weed smoking, verbal fighting, sexually suggestive comments, swearing, Reader is a rich BITCH but sheās mostly joking.
a/n- im not a huge fan of kook reader tbh, but I had this idea and I just couldnāt resist. this series is set somewhere in season one and two, I donāt know. itās a world where the race for the gold never happened and theyāre just pogues doing pogue things.

āDid Sarah have to bring along her prissy friend?ā JJ said, just loud enough so you could hear, to his best friend in the driverās seat.
John B gave him a side eye, āCareful.ā
JJ scoffed. āSeriously? Youāre gonna stick up for the kook in the backseat?ā He asked, making it painfully obvious, using his thumb to point to you, sitting quietly next to Sarah and Kie.
āI donāt know if youāve noticed JJ, but we have three kooks in the backseat. Two of which are your closest friends, so if I were you, Iād shut your mouth.ā John B seethed, grabbing the blondās hand and shoving it back in his lap.
āYeah, JJ. Play nice.ā You said as innocently as possible, twirling your hair with your middle finger before holding it up in his direction when he turned around to glare at you.
You had been best friends with Sarah for as long as you could remember, Kiara too, before her and Sarah fell out and you took Sarahās side. It was really nice to be back with your best friends again, but the three of you being back together unfortunately meant having to put up with Kieās pogue friends. John B and Pope werenāt as bad as you thought they would be, in fact, they werenāt bad at all. They were really nice and welcoming, Pope always helped you with your homework and John B always lended a helping hand as you learned to surf.
However, your friendship luck with the blond boy wasnāt as great.
Hi, I'm 25 and debating starting male-to-female HRT. However, I'm scared that HRT won't help me at all. It seems like HRT does so little after puberty, especially by the time one gets in their 20s. I'm really scared that I'll just end up being someone in a male body, but with breasts. Is there anything you can say to someone having this fear? Thank you, and sorry, I suspect this is a silly question.
Actually, the claim that HRT doesnāt do much after puberty is a myth. Ā I started when I was 31 years old and now Iām 35. =) Ā
Seriously, I transitioned at 39 and Iām 41 now.Ā Hormones are magic whatever your age and while some things stay, many things change and itās been totally worth it for me.
OMG!!! I love seeing posts like this. The hope it inspires. especially in girls like me, is unprecedented. Thank you!
I felt the same way before I started transitioning and especially because I have a fair masculine build. But you know what Iāve learned from my experience so far? Fuck it! There is always hope and you could end up surprising yourself with the results.Ā
I think results vary, I donāt see much difference between pre-hrt and 8 years on hrt
Look at these amazing and brave women!!!! A reminder to all my followers, itās not too late!! You can do it!!!!!
This is what I needed to see in my day āŗļø Iām only 23 but I think about making this change on a daily basis and itās been 3 years since Iāve been thinking that. Hrt is in my future (:
āIn 1984, when Ruth Coker Burks was 25 and a young mother living in Arkansas, she would often visit a hospital to care for a friend with cancer.
During one visit, Ruth noticed the nurses would draw straws, afraid to go into one room, its door sealed by a big red bag. She asked why and the nurses told her the patient had AIDS.
On a repeat visit, and seeing the big red bag on the door, Ruth decided to disregard the warnings and sneaked into the room.
In the bed was a skeletal young man, who told Ruth he wanted to see his mother before he died. She left the room and told the nurses, who said, "Honey, his motherās not coming. Heās been here six weeks. Nobodyās coming!ā
Ruth called his mother anyway, who refused to come visit her son, who she described as a "sinner" and already dead to her, and that she wouldn't even claim his body when he died.
āI went back in his room and when I walked in, he said, "Oh, momma. I knew youād come", and then he lifted his hand. And what was I going to do? So I took his hand. I said, "Iām here, honey. Iām hereā, Ruth later recounted.
Ruth pulled a chair to his bedside, talked to him
and held his hand until he died 13 hours later.
After finally finding a funeral home that would his body, and paying for the cremation out of her own savings, Ruth buried his ashes on her family's large plot.
After this first encounter, Ruth cared for other patients. She would take them to appointments, obtain medications, apply for assistance, and even kept supplies of AIDS medications on hand, as some pharmacies would not carry them.
Ruthās work soon became well known in the city and she received financial assistance from gay bars, "They would twirl up a drag show on Saturday night and here'd come the money. That's how we'd buy medicine, that's how we'd pay rent. If it hadn't been for the drag queens, I don't know what we would have done", Ruth said.
Over the next 30 years, Ruth cared for over 1,000 people and buried more than 40 on her family's plot most of whom were gay men whose families would not claim their ashes.
For this, Ruth has been nicknamed the 'Cemetery Angel'.āā by Ra-Ey Saley
Someday I will have my own place. My world wonāt be confined to my room. I will stumble sleepily through the house in the morning, opening the blinds. I will sit out in the backyard and look at the stars. I will go out whenever I want to. I will survive long enough to have that.
