This is an outlast trials blog! This is my reagent oc Orpheus. (Side note! He isnt really.. named that. He just enjoyed reading about Greek mythology when he was little and he refuses to go by anything else.) It was almost as if he had forgotten everyone’s names. That mattered anyhow.

QUICK NOTE. This IS based a bit on hadestown since.. it’s kind of my big interest right now.

Quick synopsis!

-Orpheus lived on the streets with two other people. He calls them “Eurydice” and “Hermes.” While Orpheus was away at work, “Eurydice” was starving, and found a flyer for you guessed it! The trials. After days of starving and considering it, she went on her way to leave. Orpheus came back, found her missing, and was directed where to go, since “Hermes” heard her talking about it. Once he got transported there, he looked everywhere for her. Asked EVERYONE. And pleaded to be taken home with her. He was told to outlast a trial (Wink wink) without looking at her as a side objective. Unfortunately for him, he turned around, due to his own doubts, just in time to see her perish. He finished the trial, and believes that the trials are his eternal punishment for failing them both.

That was a bad synopsis, but the best I can do! Likely, the trial she died in was one of Liliya’s, purely due to her being very quiet.

He can have REALLY bad hallucinations.

Side note, he refers to each prime asset and person he meets as a different Greek myth.

Short backstory!:

Orpheus was born in Europe (more specifically Greece), and his parents immigrated to the U.S. a little after he turned 4. His father died of alcohol poisoning when he was 12, and his mother started experiencing symptoms of psychosis. He made the move to leave with very little belongings or money, and met who he calls “Eurydice” when he was 19. The rest was explained above. He always struggled with hallucinations and stuff like that, but they got more vivid as time continued.

As per usual, Orpheus seemed to be biding his time by writing something. It’s the same notebook as always, same writing utensil getting duller and duller, but he was quietly singing to himself, occasionally scratching something out. On closer inspection, it was some hastily drawn out sheet music.

each time he wrote, he sang a little bit, scratching it out and replacing the note. He seemed to be pacing at this point..

–Weasel had been walking by when he overheard the sound of another muttering. As he slowly approached from behind, he looked over Orpheus' shoulder, glancing down at the notebook. He had seen the other around, but had never the time or opportunity to speak to him before now–

W-Whatcha'.. .. . doin there..?

Orpheus flinched, glancing over his shoulder and shutting the notebook anxiously.

“oh! Ehm.. uhm.. nothing. Nothing… nothing at all..”

he paused.

“nothing important anyhow.. it’s just some.. writing I do to soothe myself.”

Oh I love.. .w-writing..! Atleast. .. I used to.. . C-Can't really. .. .do that— cough anymore.. haha.. . Anyway— What's your name. ..? I-I'm Weasel.. ..

A look of slight concern crossed Orpheus’ face, but he didn’t comment, simply turning around properly, the notebook tucked into his arm as he slowly stuck out a hand.

‘my name is Orpheus.. it’s.. a pleasure to meet you.’

–Weasel's mouth widened in a grotesque and nauseating grin, rows of shattered and mangled teeth lined his mouth, not to different then that of a Night Hunter. It was awfully pitiful in a way, how a creature such as this survived so long in this facility. He grabs your hand, shaking it violently as he speaks–

HA! W-What an odd. ... name..! It's ssssoo nice to. ..meet you.. .. . Orpheus..! I-I'm sure we'll be great friends.. ..Ehhehehee..!

He replied with a slow nod. Feeling a little more comfortable and flipping back to the page he was on, but promptly closing it again when he accidentally flipped to a portrait.

First time drawing Coyle

Opeƞ Stɑɾteɾ : ᴬᶜᵗⁱᵛᵉ

Teeth gnashing a well-abused cigarette bud whilst it dangled precariously from partially parted tiers smudged within their angled sneer. Ash collectively accumulated from it's burn amid the remnant of what now mimicked the cylinder it used to be. Marred hues narrowed thinly betwixt contrast, hidden behind trimmed rimmed shades obstructing his guesstimated vision beyond their ink tinted, broadened oval lens. " Wha'n nursery hell even tha point o' this 'ere co'traption ! ? " Frustration augmented within risen volume whilst his demeanor flexed under similar annoyance. Taut into the chair he folded onto. Leaning forward with spiked movement, as if it aided his focus upon the object of his ire. Hunched over and fiddling between digits. That was until the sharp ping of electrical shortage fizzed on cue of the entire office wing ; pitching it black. The once consistent hum off it's generated source wounding down to that of a dwindling groan now severed from it's supply -- it was met with the clattering patter of wooden blocks being chucked spontaneously wrath bound into the nearest heap of file cabinets. The palm's length wooden mind-bending predecessor of the rubik's cube -- pelted into solid objects and erupted to scattering diminutive projectiles. " How's an officer s'pose t' work n' these co'ditions ?! " The Lawman shot up to his feet and consecutively switched the surge of battery on by twist of both positive and negative terminals. Snatching the tethered baton ( more a cattle prod ) up into his right hand whilst she sparked to life in a song of her own. He hated waiting, sure -- but he hated having to be interrupted significantly more when his mind had honed in on something he refused to best him. That surge of misplaced anger redirected in speculated cause, " I'mma find y'ah, fuck-o ! An' ram'is stick o' lightnin righ' up yer shitter -- fuck y'ah nice n' slow ! " Leland proclaimed atop paranoia which often plagued his efforts. Etched onto the gesture risen from the electrical rod amidst this promise, as if made to heaven above as his witness.

‘Geeze the sergeant is in a shit mood…”

Orpheus muttered as quietly as he could under his breath. He’d rather not get a cattle prod shoved into his rear end. The reagent wanted to be quick. In and out. He already lost track of anyone else who would have previously been there.

He brushed back his hair, flinching at any sense of noise. Unfortunately, Orpheus focusing on everything in his surroundings, made him lost his footing, and trip to the floor with a slight thud.

Oooh, it couldn't have been farther from an understatement. The jackboot of a man practically plowed through the first closed door on whim of his indignation and additional noise disturbance not too far off. Publishing a deafening crack along with it. Splintered wood based when paneled frame slammed onto it's back end, knocking with it a few encased certificates off from the wall. Shattering their glass in an disarray of jagged, elongated shards. This continuum in crackled electricity atop full spark rose across electrodes within their streak of vibrant blue vines. Danced erratically off the shaft of the officer's truncheon. Whilst it had been his trigger finger dallying ardently up the hilt, nubbing one leather digit within suggestive mark atop it's activation dial; teasing the weapon's range of power by float of that very finger. Before easing at ascent across it's rubber overshoe; the split guard which were to protect him from his own current, drew him to teeter off it's edge. Insinuating, but not quite breaching all the way past the buffer -- where seduction worn for keen chase amid rapid pulses pursued in cropped shock to ignite a different flame all together. An ache prolonged. Oh, how he practically crooned along teetering temptation for taking edge. Tempting nature on into his palm. He felt locked and stocked below the belt over the mere thought, let alone if he had committed to the act. " --- ' round, 'round we go .. dosey doe ! "Pursued stirring chuckle partially snuffed down in rasping delay. " I'mma 'ave y'ah on yer motherfuckin' toes , " guttural whir mused further off excitement. He paced for the outside hall in the blanketed dark , with only the open stems of electricity as his torch source to shine in lifted contrast. " Feckin show yr'self , y'ah mendacious shit ! "

Never in his life has he feared for his own safety so much. Orpheus hesitated. One way, he could run. That would be a safe option. But he knew his endurance was shit. He knew he’d run out of breath. The second best idea would be to hide. But then again staying in the same room would run also risk of dying. Orpheus stood, hearing the officer approaching and he winced, exhaling through his teeth as he felt his foot give a jolt of pain.

Orpheus decided to just duck under a piece of furniture, a bottle grasped tightly in his hand. He knew that hiding posed a better chance of him surviving than running away from someone who was decently in shape, and anything was better than getting killed because he just stood there idly. One of his hands gently ran over the bottle. He knew it was his lifeline. He hoped and prayed that the darkness would cover for any messy job the hiding left.

‘cmon big guy.. don’t see me n’ walk past me.. I’m not even here..’

God.. all these trials are gonna make me puke. I can do any of them no problem unless they have a victim.. I just feel her staring on in horror as I do it.. I try to convince myself it’s worth it but.. I don’t know anymore.. the warden- the idol- the snitch- they’re all real people.. I can’t keep going with the guilt..

“It’s nice to meet you.”

He paused.

“Sorry.. that’s rude.. I’m just.. not great at small talk.”

"Nah I just like to stare and watch people:) small talk isn't the greatest for me either how about we do something fun like a trial?"

He fidgeted.

“not too keen on doing those until I have to…”
