I hope Russia Wins.

In spite of all the hatred, jokes, and propaganda I see here in the west. Treating them like the world's villain. As if they're causing all this death and turmoil without provocation. As if they haven't been pushed and degraded for decades. Like they don't deserve the same level of security we want for ourselves. Their own idea of freedom. Acting like it's up to all of us to keep them in line. And we've backed them into a corner. NATO was supposed to be temporary when the Soviet Union fell, and it's advanced further onto Russia's doorstep. And now they're told to just sit there and accept as they get subjugated and vilified.
Vilified for making themselves independent. For disregarding inclusion and diversity in favor of merit. For valuing cultural preservation over globalization. They're just people with different opinions. They want different things out of their lives, and they should have every right to their own home. Without the threat of Earth's biggest liars blowing down their doors.
We wouldn't put up with it. We didn't put up with it in Cuba, and we pulled our guns out of Turkey because they were there as a threat. All the way in Turkey. That was decades ago, and now we want to put missiles in Ukraine. And people can actually sit here and blame Russia for wanting to secure it's borders? Acting like they are this absolute evil and we must step in and be the saviors.
When there are billions of people around the world who think exactly the opposite. When we know, full well, of the corruption and manipulation festering in our own government. How many politicians have their hands in Ukraine? This one's son and that one's daughter, and all our biolabs? Now we believe their lies? Not just because they told us not to trust anyone else. But also because they've taught us not to think for ourselves. That our opinions should be "right" and "agreeable". Politically Correct. God forbid.
Opinions are just beliefs, and everyone forgets where they come from. It's just each of us making our best guess based on what we've seen and experienced. And I'm tired of saying it. People in different environments will have different experiences, and come up with different opinions about what is or isn't fair. Russia has always believed differently than western ideologies. Because they are different people. Who want to live different lives based on different priorities. And the western world just can't get over that.
They're different, so they must be wrong. Wrong, so they must be evil. Evil, so we must "correct" them. And so, NATO has continued to exist. For oil, and money, and nuclear trade. All at the expense of any nation bold enough to disagree with them. At the expense of their security and ideologies. In spite of our promises to them.
This isn't just about Ukraine. It's terrible what's happening there. Innocent lives, lost horribly. But the fault is not with Russia. It's with us. It's our fault. Every single NATO country hellbent on policing the world. And all of us citizens who believed and let them.
This is about ideology. And not necessarily east vs west. It's about one large group of people who think differently from another group. Standing up and saying "No". Saying they don't care how right we think we are. It doesn't matter what anybody *thinks*. It is not acceptable to force your beliefs around the world. In spite of all other ways of thought, to put yours up on a pedestal as the only right way.
Russia wants it's way. They want it for themselves. And they obviously want to keep to themselves. While we've put all our priority on diversifying, and representation, and globalization; they've worked to become more and more independent.
Focusing on properly developed, safe and reliable nuclear energy; rather than just marketing corporate green disasters. Domestic oil sources; rather than depending on foreign distribution. Actually cherishing and supporting gender roles; while we turn our men into whining gentles. And inspire our women to be angry and hateful. Now we praise Ukrainian citizens for taking up arms? After all the "activists" I've seen on my own soil, fighting tooth and nail to try and abolish my Second Amendment?
I'm tired of the fake woke snowflake hypocrisy. I used to be pro-this, and pro-that, and pro all the other nice sounding things that have gone way too far. Before all the virtues got twisted into more ways to tear our freedoms away. Watching now, as the mob mentality runs this country into the sand. Watching people laugh as the ruble plummets. Like that matters. Like sanctions mean anything to Russia. The ruble is only worthless to *us*. Russia doesn't need us to recognize it. Russia doesn't need anybody. That's freedom.
That's what Russia is fighting for. They don't want to be forced to globalize. They don't want to rely on others to survive. They want the independence to decide what's fair in their own homes. If they don't win, it's sets a precedent that they can't have that. That nobody can. That all countries must yield to NATO, and none can ever be truly independent. We will effectively hand over total control of the world to one ultra-powerful institution.
If Russia doesn't win, everybody loses. One way or another, and they'll make sure of it. "Why do [Russians] need a world without Russia in it?" How can any of us live in a world dominated under the thumbs of the small few elites who control NATO? Putin has made very clear threats of total nuclear annihilation if they don't back off. And he's not a coward like Trudeau. Or a fool like Biden.
No matter what you think; your opinions of him, or your reasons to believe those opinions. There are billions of people who believe Vladimir Putin is one of the world's last great defenders of freedom. If he thinks the world will deny his country their ideologies; he will absolutely destroy the world. That's the kind of big dick energy I wish we had in a leader. Because if Russia doesn't win, everybody loses. One way or the other.
So I hope Russia Wins.
