honestly???? big mood
Thereās no problem in the ball python breeding hobby.
Nah dude idk what youre talking about. These are totally ethical procedures for breeding animals.
Nobody with half a brain thinks this is immoral.
Afterall, what kind of animal needs to fulfill all of its natural behaviors when you can only fulfil 2 for its entire life: hibernating and breeding. They only really need enough space to eat and mate. This is a perfect tub size for a single adult snake.
Who cares about building balance and musculature. Who cares about maintaining good body condition. Who cares about being able to lift your head more than 2 inches? Who cares about allowing your animal to stretch out its full length?
Nah no problems here.
/sarcasm
Image stolen.
(For the record, this is half of your usual adult ball python rack enclosure looks like. This is not an exaggerated image, this is what your typical ball python) enclosures look like)
Itās breeders that keep them like this as it saves on space apparently the snakes are fine but itās hard to tell if thatās true but most of the time they appear to be healthy
Breeders are not inherently the authority on ball python keeping. This style of keeping is wrong - ethically, scientifically, morally. It is cruel. Point blank.
Itās really not hard to tell that these snakes arenāt fine, if you look into the research on the necessity of enrichment in all animals (including all reptiles, amphibians, even fish) and compare the behaviors of snakes kept in these abysmal conditions to snakes kept in enriched conditions. Iām no expert in reading ball python body condition but these snakes both appear overweight (as is common in captivity) and I can guarantee you they have poor muscle tone because they can barely move at all in their living space.
If any other animal was kept in conditions like this there would be outcry. If you [general you] went to a zoo and saw a lion in a barren cage with only enough room to turn around you would be outraged. If you went to a zoo and saw a snake curled up in a box like this youād be outraged. Anyone who keeps animals should value their animalsā welfare and quality of life over the space they take up. Thatās an awful reason to justify cruelty.
To be clear, Iām not trying to attack you @snakesandreptiles or be aggressive. Thereās a lot of misinformation out there and when a vast majority of people in the community have dozens of animals and are breeding them in these conditions, itās easy to believe them. But because misinformation is so rampant, itās important to correct it where you see it. Always question the status quo, do independent research, and when someone points out something like the OP try to take it in and independently verify before falling back on what youāve [general] taken to be true before.
Moments
You guys ever get to a place with like jobs, friends, or something and just realize that all these small moments throughout your life have helped you be perfect for whatever it is youāre doing right now?
Like Iāve had a lot of random jobs and Iāve pulled the strangest things from all of them and theyāve all been incredibly useful, random knowledge that has accumulated into experience skill.
But weirder than that Iāve met a person who Iām just like utterly confused by because there are so many things in my life that I thought were tiny moments i would only share with random individuals. Just a random hobby or interest here and there. But this person, itās like every weird, unusual, no name band, meme, show, trend, etc. that Iāve liked throughout the years this guy has also experienced. And Iām not always the one to bring it up. Itās just, like the WEIRDEST connection and I canāt explain it, but Iām excited???? That never happens with me.
Itās exciting. To like someone and share small moments. Strange, but exciting.
THE GREATEST TWEET OF ALL
Puppies first
I went on probably the best first date of my life last night.
This boy is 3 years younger than me.
As tall as me. (Wow)

And, he just kissed me goodbye and wants to have awesome dates and I am CRAVING the sex, but like itās not the top of our conversation like it usually is with me.
Usually I just bone if we kiss.
Usually I talk all about sex right away. But I havenāt and now Iām like āinterested in himā??????
