On January 11, 2013, the body of Kendrick Johnson was found inside a rolled-up, upright gym mat with his head facing the floor by several other students. Beneath his head lay a pool of his own blood. The initial autopsy concluded that he died of positional asphyxia from hanging upside down in the mat. Students told investigators that it was common for them to store their shoes under the rolled-up mats during gym class, and hypothesized that Kendrick had gotten stuck while he was trying to retrieve his shoes. Kendrick’s parents, unsatisfied with the autopsy results, hired a private pathologist to reinvestigate Kendrick’s death. The pathologist concluded that Kendrick died of blunt force trauma to the head, not suffocation. A second autopsy was conducted on Kendrick after his funeral and it was found that all of his organs had been removed and replaced with newspapers. The funeral owner said they never received the organs from the coroner. When the coroner was asked where the organs were, he stated that they had already been ‘’discarded’’. Surveillance footage also shows Kendrick entering the gym, but no one entering before him, and hours of the tape footage were also missing around the time of his death, making it widely suspected that Kendrick’s death was a cover-up.

Disappearance of Asha Degree

Asha Jaquilla Degree went missing at the age of nine from Shelby, North Carolina, United States. In the early morning hours of February 14, 2000, for reasons unknown, she packed her bookbag, left her family home north of the city and began walking along nearby North Carolina Highway 18 despite heavy rain and wind. Several passing motorists saw her; when one turned around at a point 1.3 miles from her home and began to approach her, she left the roadside and ran into a wooded area. In the morning, her parents discovered her absence. 

An intensive search that began that day led to the location of some of her personal effects near where she was last seen. A year and a half later in August, her bag was found wrapped in plastic and buried in the ground off the highway, about 40km from where she was last seen. At the point where she ran into the woods, a billboard now stands appealing for help finding her. Her family hosts an annual walk from their home to the billboard to draw attention to the case.

While the circumstances of Degree’s disappearance at first seemed to suggest she was running away from home, investigators could not find a clear reason she might have done so; she was younger than most children who do. They have speculated that she might have been abducted instead. 

Recently police announced two “new possible clues” - an elementary school library book, McElligot’s Pool by Dr Seuss, and a New Kids on the Block T-shirt.

Pictures from June 30th, 2019, when a corpse fell from the sky into a London garden with so much speed, he left a massive crater in the ground. At the time, the homeowner was sunbathing just 1 metre away.

It later emerged that the body, which had turned into an “ice-block” due to the freezing temperatures at 38,000 ft, was a stowaway on a flight from Kenya to London. As the landing gear unfolded, the man’s body fell from the sky. Blood splattered the garden, and the clean-up took over 5 hours.
