(I hope ya’ll realize i’m doing all these instead of my homework…because i REALLY don’t want to do it…)
Shiro: is the oldest. about 25ish (6 if you’re being mean (dang he’s adorable)). and he’s the one that everyone naturally respects and looks to for support.
Again, as mentioned before, not a lot is said about shiro before Kerboros. But you can tell he has a close relationship with the Holts and most likely was good friends with Matt in the Garrison. So it goes to show that even if he didn’t meet Pidge before the mission, he definitely heard about her and got to know her through a secondary source.
shiro is a natural care taker, much like Hunk. His sense of right and wrong and responsibility make it impossible for him to not care for those who also have a sense of justice. He could not leave prisoners after he found out Pidge was related to the holts because the issue was right there ready to be addressed.
Gotta give this chick props. I am somewhat overwhelmed by her and the fact that she doesn’t let much stand in her way. She never once denies that she’s a girl with girly tendencies, but she’s not that obnoxious chick who runs all the guys over to prove something! She accepts her flaws and her strengths and works really hard to do what she knows she’s good at. SHE OWNS IT AND ITS AWESOME! THIS above all else give her a level of maturity that some of the others lack. while She cat totally goof off and be a member of the garrison trio, her first and true love is her obsession with knowledge and her goals
This could, however, be a bad thing and come back to bite her in the butt. being goal driven is awesome until you’v reached those goals, or, if you fail at that goal. We caught a look at her seeming failure when she found Matts grave. It tore her apart and i don’t think she would have recovered completely had it been the truth.
The first 5-6 episodes kinda reminds me of the first ep of OHSHC, i mean, the moment Shiro realizes Pidge is Kaite and a girl he totally ditches keith in the middle of enemy territory. (more on that in my Sheith rant…) any way, but truly, while Pidge was keeping it secret Shiro became her self-proclaimed care taker. He pushed everyone to train until Pidge said she was tired. He made sure she didn’t stay up too late, and he made sure she knew that he knew. (egads that was a sweet and touching scene. anyone who says otherwise has no heart (I mean, as someone who gets mistaken for a boy quite a bit, being treated like a girl….i understand those tears pidge,,,,truly i do…))
After she came out and told everyone she was a girl Shiro had a little more help in taking care of pidge. He no longer felt like he needed to be her 24/7 guard dog against the enemy AND the other paladins. She was owning it (I think she always owned it, it was just awkward for her to say anything since she’d been under cover) and Shiro could tell she knew what she was doing.
CONCLUSION: Whereas i personally see this working better as a sibling relationship, i TOTALLY see the moe and pull of the younger sister dating the older brothers best friend. Especially when its these two. Because of Pidges level of maturity and logical point of view I can totally see this being a wonderful relationship! Shiro really needs someone who will keep him grounded through his nightmares he undoubtedly has. This is totally plausible and the more i analyse this the more i’m loving this!
seriously the more i do these rants, the more i’m just converting myself to these ships. And those that are freaking out about the age difference between these two well put together characters, i want you to really think about what you like. I don’t want to hear ANYTHING about age if you like vampire novels/movies/shows or anything with immortals! ok? My aunt and uncle are ten or eleven years apart and they’re really cute together. so there.
