Free Track of the Week: 'OTM' by Acollective 

Having already developed a mighty reputation as a band with one of the most insane live shows, this latest single from Acollective shows why this seven piece from Tel Aviv are turning heads everywhere.

OTM drifts and changes throughout the track. It masterfully combines sections of distance and dark vocals with electro groves before bursting into a upbeat and thumping chorus. It's almost hard to tell when you should be swaying to the delightful bleep and bloops or bouncing around to the fervour of the song. Either way we're having a cracking time listening.

Free Track of the Week: 'Heart Attack Again' by Step Rockets

This track simply oozes classy grooves from start to finish. Coated in synths along with a catchy beat and delicious hooks, it's a tune we've got on repeat.

The Minneapolis band have crafted out an a wonderfully psychedelic song filled that retains indie-rock elements, which will have you bopping away to as summer edges towards us.

Free Track of the Week: 'Blush' by Wolf Alice

As part of their Great X-Pectations of 2014, XFM have been making some of the most exciting bands' music available for free download and we think this is the pick of the X-citing bunch.

Already in awe of the wonders of Wolf Alice who seem incapable of putting a foot wrong in the brief musical careers. Blush was arguably one of our favourite EPs from last year and this title track is a sensationally crafted bit of music. Delicate vocals, gentle guitar rifts all blend seamlessly into a climatic whirl of a well-orchestrated chorus.

Free Track of the Week: 'Fight 4 What U Need'

Kicking off 2014 in effortless, electronic elegance is Swiss Lips' addictive new tune. Driven on by a wonderfully catchy beat, the song flows beautifully between hooks and choruses in this latest offering from the self-proclaimed sorcerers of pop.

We shouldn't really expect anything less from the Manchester boys who've already brought us tracks like 'Danz' and 'Carolyn' and 'Fight 4 What U Need' shows they're clearly pulling no punches come the new year.

Free Track of the Week: 'Give It Up' by E X R O Y A L E 

Dripping with elegance, class and a indisputable catchy debut single from E X R O Y A L E is an absolute pleasure to listen to. It's almost jaunty rift is laced with the delicate vocals that just cooly and calmly builds and builds.

But the the latest tune is far too sophisticated to break into any unruly crescendo and instead weaves the guitar rifts seamlessly as the song approaches its end, which we feel is far too soon.

Free Track of the Week: 'Gone' by Denai Moore

A heart-wreching piece of music easily makes its way into our archive of free music from this vocally hard-hitting London artist. Listening to the slow moving piano piece at times feels like going nine round with the emotional equivalent to Muhammed Ali.

But when you step out of the musical ring all battered and bruised from this stunningly beautiful track, you can't but feel oddly happier and warmer for the experience. It's a rare and wonderful blend of aching pains delivered with gorgeous optimism. Be warned, we've spread a few tears to this one but feel like taking on the world afterwards. It's essentially the first Rocky film of the free music world.

Free Track of the Week: 'Drowning Butterflies' by Bipolar Sunshine

Despite being one of the most depressingly titled tracks we've ever heard about insect genocide, this song is gorgeously layered together into a seamlessly relaxing and chilled out tune.

Bipolar Sunshine is already causing a bit of a stir in the music world but this latest free release from the northern artist shows that he's not running out of steam anytime soon. 'Drowning Butterflies' has a light and delicate flow throughout highlighting the craftsmanship behind the music.

Free Track of the Week: 'Shiver' by Avec Sans.

Well we couldn't overlook the fact one of our favourite bands is producing delicate electro-pop joy that perfectly summarises the weather right? We may not be entirely sure of the lyrical content of the latest demonstration from the duo of their class and stylised music is about the cold weather but we are sure it's yet another fantastic track that we can't get enough of.

'Shiver' is a move away from the powerful beats and thumping choruses of 'The Answer' and 'Heartbreak Hi' but provides a perfect showcase to highlight the vocal range of Alice Fox while giving Jack St. James another chance to show off his electro-wizzardry in a new light.

Anyone of a emotional disposition beware as this beautifully crafted three and half minutes of music will ruin you. Recreating the ultimate tale of romantic woe, Katie Malco has stolen out hearts while also shattering them with this slowly building ballad.

The creeping piano rift eventually builds up into a thunderous climax where all your preconceptions of love will be smashed asunder but in the most wonderful way possible. However, now thanks to this song we despise September.

Be warned; Champs have once again put together an incredibly catchy and wonderfully crafted bit of alternative pop for us lucky souls. After listening to this gentle giant of a track, you'll have no choice but to instantly hit repeat.

Hooks and melodies after over themselves as this free-flowing song composed by brothers Michael and David Champion unfurls in your ears. Having already warned you of the catchy consequences of listening to this dark indie guitar pop, rest safe in the knowledge we too are incurably infected with it and the symptoms include constantly belting out their beautiful choruses. There are songs are instantly capture the mood of the time of the year but this beautiful bit of synth joy goes well beyond just doing that. Elegantly epitomising our growing dread as the greyness of Autumn approaches, the track breezes effortlessly across perfect harmonies as it unleashes a pop soaked war on the autumnal season.

The track's sublime combination of folk pop and indie-electro somehow still inspires on our faces even if this song hails in the end of summer.

PINS have been causing quite a stir with their blend of post-punk rifts and dark overtones and this track is certainly no exception. Boasting the beautiful Brooklyn sounds that have become synonymous with the Manchester band, 'Lost Lost Lost' effortlessly reeks of style and chic.

The marching drum beat in the intro is soon accompanied by the simple yet effective bass and guitar rifts that are so catchy. If you weren't hooked by that then the rifts continue and continue to build into climactical crescendo to finish off this fantastically crafted bit of music.

Free Track of the Week: 'Jane (Demo)' by KIN

The Birmingham revolution is still in full swing with artists like Swim Deep and Laura Mvula being succeeded by the likes of JAWS and Dumb and this exciting conveyor belt of talent continues with KIN.

Jane may only be in its demo stages but its something that's grabbing our attention. A gentle haunting intro breaks into fast paced and light guitar rifts before easing up and settling into the song. If KIN can keep producing tracks of this calibre then they'll prove they can stand toe-to-toe with their Brummie peers.

Free Track of the Week: 'If the big fat yellow thing in the sky were to burn out...' by Hey Sholay

When a track title rolls off the tongue like this one then it is hard for us to ignore them. Add to that the incredible back catalogue that this South Yorkshire band boasts then we knew we were onto a good thing here.

It's the ideal track to gracefully ease away our summer vibes and mellow us out for the oncoming autumn times. Glorious synths and tight vocal harmonies take what should be a depressingly bleak subject and turn into five minutes of beautiful music, adding yet another side to this highly versatile group's collection of sounds.
