im a sucker for warm soft domestic life so…..i headcanon that leon stays with sonia at the lab after he takes over the battle tower…👀
he used to stay in the little suite of the wyndon stadium while he was champ, but now that his main gig is the battle tower, hes just been staying at home and it makes him anxious because it feels like hes moved back in with his parents
so sonia mentions that since the lab is such a big building, it has a lot of empty rooms that are just being used to store her grandmas old data and research, and if he helps her clean it out he can stay in one of the many rooms there with her until he finds his own place (maybe an excuse on her end to see him more 👀) and he agrees (maybe an excuse in HIS end to spend more time with her 👀👀)
and they just have a warm life,.,..coming downstairs in the morning in their pajamas with bedheads, drinking hot coffee and having a warm breakfast while the rookidees chirp outside. leon goes off to work at the battle tower while sonia and hop do lab research, and he comes back in the afternoon, sometimes with donuts or groceries, and gets to spend some down time with hop before he leaves to hang out with gloria.
he helps sonia make curry for their dinner or they go out to a restaurant on days where shes too tired to cook. they eat kids sugar cereal lucky charms for breakfast or as a late night snack because theyre adults and can do whatever they want.
in the evening they sit on the back porch and let their pokemon run around and play, talk about each others days and laugh about stupid things they run into, or sit on the couch huddled in blankets watching the gym challenge matches or disney movies (or those cheesy hallmark movies that sonia loves in july or december, leon claims to hate them but if he ever starts one he HAS to watch it until the end, and jokingly mocks how predictable and cookie cutter they are)
and sometimes theyll go on walks around the fields of wedgehurst or he takes her flying on his charizard, or visit leons family for dinner, sometimes they fall asleep on the couch and end up staying there until morning. sometimes sonia packs up leon a lunch with a few servings of his favorite curry as a surprise and he has to physically stop himself from kissing her right then and there. sometimes work if exhausting for both of them but coming home to each other always charges their batteries right up.
and after a while they both forget leon is supposed to be looking for his own place, until someone mentions theres a great apartment available in wyndon close to the battle tower, and he SHOULD probably look into it, but theyre both so happy and comfortable where they are now that neither of them really want it to change
