Itās gonna be a lot so read only if you want too, Iām just posting it here since I donāt only want it on Reddit.
It has gotten to the point where now Iām just gonna start writing about this head canon, Iāve got so many ideas in mind that I really canāt just let go š.
Though I know it will definitely bring problems, the main problem being honey is here and not too many people are fond of honey being with āvillainsā. Unless weāre thinking of everyone here and their Archie versions then obviously this wouldnāt work, but outside of Archie fang, bean, and bark arenāt āvillainsā like eggman, starline, infinite, mimic, etc. Those 3 literally do ANYTHING for money, fang has implied before that he will save people for a price, itās as simple as the writers have never put fang in a situation where that happens š. Theyāre mercenaries, not all mercenaries are just villains (star fox is a great example of that), the main reason I can see it not working is because of fang and his turd attitude š.
Even though his personality sucks that doesnāt mean honey canāt be an honorary hooligan member, she also doesnāt just become bad like fang either, fangās gang is very similar to warioās crew from wario ware, like despite warioās crappy personality he still is surrounded by good people who care about him and call him out on his shit. Reminds me of two other characters that have done this to fang (bean and bark), bean and bark arenāt nowhere near bad guys either, bean is the son of the hero and while heās on wanted posters, the guy genuinely is just around to have fun and doesnāt really care about what others think of him, Bark is just all around a good guy but is usually around bad people which makes him look bad, Fang is usually the one who makes them all look like āvillainsā.
But now itās time I explain the honey thing, Iāve gotten a few hate dms about simply having her with them because yk, bad guy canāt be with good guy. But if youāre viewing honey with her Archie personality then obviously yes it wouldnāt š. But I donāt view her that way, I view her with her original fighting vipers personality, I personally think it would be pretty cool to see a character like pop step (from mha vigilantes) in the sonic universe, honey is usually a shy character but when she puts on her armor she basically becomes a whole new person. There is one thing that Archie kinda removed from her character that made her different and thatās the fact that sheās kind of famous in that universe, honey in actuality is unknown and has no way to promote her brand normally. So she ends up doing the one thing she loves, fighting, honey is a very violent character with the armor on and a very shy character without it. That alone made me love the hooligan + honey head canon, a character who takes jobs from time to time with the hooligans to earn funds for her brand while also promoting it. On top of that has two very different personalities as well? Sign me up, make the hooligans more fun.
Then again it is the internet, Iām not here to force you to like this and go āHoNeY sHoUlD bE wiTH ThE HooLIGaNs ALL tHe timEā, you donāt have to like it and thatās okay, not everyone likes the same thing. But I would like to remind people, especially to those who hate it, it is a HEAD CANON. I had to put that in bold because I see no need to argue about something that isnāt canon, itās just a fun head canon that I have, I said it on twitter but if you donāt like me drawing this then you can definitely block me, mute me, do whatever. I know majority want honey with mighty & ray (and there definitely have been people who blocked me because of that alone, I got blocked because mighty wasnāt with honey on my tomodachi island for crying out loud š). Iām saying this now I donāt hate the mighty, ray, & honey head canon, but if you donāt like honey with anyone else besides them then donāt get mad at me because I donāt see it that way anymore and donāt come telling me to switch it to Mighty & Ray eitherš, I used to have that exact same headcanon until I learned more about the hooligans.
Now that Iāve got that out the way hereās the last bit I wanted to drop, Bean, Bark, & Honey alone have much of a reason to be together, bean, bark, and honey the cat, have all first appeared in fighters together. Then later on bean and bark appeared in fighting megamix, a game where honeyās human version is in, in one of the megamix comics bean & bark got human designs, so now all three of them have a human design out there š. They all also appeared in another megamix comic where honey was in, the list can continue Iām more surprised honey wasnāt with bean & bark automatically. Again I did used to have to mighty, ray, & honey headcanon but after finding this stuff out and still finding out more about honey, now that fang bean and bark are likely to be with each other again, if she joins as the honorary hooligan it would be a pretty funny team, goofy mercs who do stuff for money and end up failing originally but getting the job done in the end. I definitely see that thereās something there to be told with how team Sonic (with amy as the honorary Sonic member) and team hooligan (with honey being the honorary hooligan) both mirroring each other, with the obvious ā¬ļø
I believe thereās a story that can definitely be told if you get hella creative with it (you donāt even have to change honey and make her ābadā it can work with how her fv personality is) and Iām more than willing to write it even when it will definitely get hate, Iāll gladly do it. šŖ°
(oh and this is something I forgot to mention but if honey does actually get used in idw then head canon aside I would actually like for them to use her full personality, she isnāt famous yet let her start poor and see her grow up to that point, I want to see her hate for carrots and for her two personalities to shine).
