S: Maybe – Birdy I don’t know how this song didn’t blow up during the Birdy phase. ‘Maybe’ is a short but uplifting track and is one of my faves. If you’re stressing about your future or how you’re going to deal with all your billions of dilemmas that need dealing with Right Now, then take a minute and give this song a whirl. I’m not saying it’s going to give you the answers but it might help lighten the load. Maybe.

As E mentioned, we watched Spidey 2 last week. The movie was a typical spiderman flick but the soundtrack was incredible and made every scene a billion times better. I’ve been obsessed with the Hans Zimmer creation ever since. Even if you’re not a big Zimmer fan give the soundtrack a listen because it also features Phosphorescent, Kendrick, Alicia Keys and Pharrell. See? You have to hear it. I did some youtube hunting and look what I found!!

Game Of Thrones: First Of His Name

 Let’s figure this out so we can understand why anything is anything right now.

1) Baelish and The Screamer (aka  Lysa Arryn): All I can say is Little Finger seems to be running allll the shit. He’s got his grubby fingers in all the pies (ick, that is a horrid image). But he does! He was behind the death of Lysa’s hubby, which means he was a key player in the hatred between The Lannisters and The Starks which started the whole bloody (literally) thing and goodness knows what his gameplay is at the moment? I mean obviously LF wants to sit his skinny ass on the iron throne but how is he going to do that? How is he going from A(rryn) to Ze Throne? He’s playing his cards very close to his slimy chest. I wonder how or when he’s going to make his big move? So many questions and hardly any answers.

New Girl: Cruise E: Now this is what I was expecting of the finale!! Jess and Nick being forced to address the weirdness of trying to be friends while living together as exes while stuck on a cruise ship for 5 days squished in a room with the rest of the gang. I love that that seems like a completely normal sentence to type in the context of New Girl… Jess & Nick tried their best to run from the romance of the Grand Romance package, Schmidt tried (unsuccessfully) to rekindle his romance with CeCe, Coach spent some quality time with their room, and Winnie ran around being Winnie until eventually everyone spilled their innermost secrets before getting trapped in their room for 3 days. Good times…

Highlights:

Awesome to see Zooey’s recent capsule collection with Tommy Hilfiger out and about.

Schmidt: “If we’re gonna do nautical puns we shouldn’t go.” Jess: “That’s fair and I won’t.”

Coach: “I take dumps standing up, I’m a man!”

Schmidt: “You are so weird. Can you ever just leave the room like a normal person?!”

Doug!

Doug: “It looks like we’re all in the same boat!”

The Vampire Diaries: Promised Land E: Well we all know Stefan is going to make it back alive to be with Caroline next season so I’m really not feeling all that emotional after that episode. The problem now is that this show plays with death way too often. Supposedly they are really and truly killing of a few main players in (next week’s?) finale but I don’t believe anything is ever set in stone anymore. 

Highlights:

Damon: “Seriously, collect calls are still a thing?”

Stefan: “Four days and you couldn’t track us down? What did you think – we were having a nice spa getaway?”

Damon: “You have Elena participating in squirrel slaughter?”

Damon: “Time to strap on the hero hair.”

Luke: “How was I supposed to know that Casper the English ghost would be a complication?!”

A Barn Life

I’m loving this whole ‘my house used to be a ____ and now my genius brain has turned it into the most awesome and practical abode…ever’ trend. I doubt I’ll ever be able to take part in this fashion because, well I can barely keep my room looking like anything but an absolute bottomless pit of mess. So I do admire the people that have the skill set to accomplish feats such as Melbourne duo Steven and Carole Whiting of Whiting Architects.

S: Good To Be Up – Kid Ink This song was released as a thank you to KI’s fans and it’s actually very uplifting/nice for a Kid Ink song. It is a bit poppy so maybe it’ll feature on the radio – and then the critics will come running. Vicious cycle.

Game Of Thrones: Oathkeeper S: Briiiienne come back!!! Come back and help Jaime not turn into a rapist incesty freak! Okay, I guess that’s not a fair request to make, I don’t think even the great Brienne of Tarth could stop that creepy train. Maybe it’s best she was sent packing. At least she got a shiny new sword out of this whole thing, even if it came at the cost of a broken heart. I think it would have been some kind of magic if Jaime had the courage to let himself feel the totality of what he felt for B.

New Girl: Dance E: So watching this the first time I thought it was the finale and I was seriously disappointed. Turns out it’s the second to last episode which is better, but still this episode was just so…. Nothing? Like it was completely inconsequential which is fine, but it came off the back of some incredible episodes so I was kind of just left with disappointment. I mean ultimately, the episode was about Jess revisiting her past, CeCe and Coach being there for Jess, and Nick, Winston, and Schmidt being idiots.

Highlights:

Schmidt’s awkward hug.

Winston: “I got hug number two locked and loaded. Soft or hard – it’s up to you.”

Nick: “My arms are so sore, I’ve been doing so many push-ups.” Schmidt: “That seems like a lie.”

Nick: “We’re doing something where we’re not allowed to be in a room alone together without Winston, because he just naturally takes the sexual tension out of a room.”

Winston: “Why does my sweat sweat like asparagus?”

The Vampire Diaries: What Lies Beneath E: I just don’t think I have any feelings for this show any more? Like I’m at a place now where I accept its existence, but I just don’t care any more one way or another. So here are the few stray thoughts I had about this episode:

That was so creepy for Tyler having to kiss some random lady who’s the wife of the dude in his head. But so smart morphing into a wolf. Although why didn’t he go and kill any of the travelers on his escape? ROOKIE ERROR.

Stefan trying to explain away missing Enzo and fend off Damon’s questions was so super sketchy.

Right so curing vampirism returns them to their dead state before they turned. And that’s why Sloane died. Good.
