This is inspired by The Vampire Lestat episode 5 when Armand tells Daniel he guided him to the Rothko Chapel.

I wanted to express the emotion of visiting Rothko art, I visited the Rothko room in Tate Modern when I was in my early 20s.

So I drew the emotion of it rather than a precise depiction. I also wanted to express how the different textures are felt.

I put sparkles on to express that Armand wants to be Daniel’s sun and stars.

It’s called Glimmers and is also how you can see the glimmers of beauty and wonder in life and bring glimmers to other people.

I have a story in my head of them being on holiday with Derek (he booked the holiday and bought them the romper suits from his catalogue) they have ice cream and sit on a bench to check the tourist map and Asa is watching Anthony eating his ice lolly and getting increasingly flustered until he grabs him in the street and starts unbuttoning him and they run back to the hotel.

Derek has a lovely day looking round the old castle and they meet up for the hotel meal later and he’s bought them souvenirs.

I adore Asa and Anthony and the domestic stuff is sparking lots of ideas 🥰🥰🥰
