For the past week, I couldn’t stop thinking of 2 year-old Jameson and how he was stripped from a beautiful life that he deserved to experience with his family by the LAPD.

This one picture of him circulating online…sporting that adorable smile and Knicks jersey, makes me sick to my stomach. It’s devastating to think about how lives aren’t valued and are treated as disposable.

With the new Michael biopic on the horizon, I couldn’t pass up the chance to draw one of my favorite artists.

Like many people my age, I was first introduced to the hits—the high-energy magic of ‘Billie Jean,’ ‘Thriller,’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’ on the radio. But it wasn’t until college that I truly dove into his full discography. In those deeper cuts, I discovered a side of him that was never aired: someone incredibly vulnerable, real, and powerfully resilient.

I was using my phone when I noticed a notification on the very top of Catherine O’Hara’s passing.

She reminded me so much of my own mom (especially in the airport scenes) in Home Alone - independent, self-reliant, stressed but capable, frantic and worried yet hopeful, problem-solving, and most of all…determined.
