woke up thinking about leon kennedy and how no matter how much time has passed, the part of him that has never changed is his want/need to help others

#LIKE IT MAKES ME SOOOO SAD to see how drastically he changed (even visually) from re.2 -> re.4 #and then even further on to re.9 like that man has been through a lot and that’s understandable #but the part he can never seem to kill is that instinct of his to help and protect even if its at his own detriment even if it meant #that he ruins things for himself or damages his bonds w those around him #he has always held steadfast to his own beliefs and how HE believes things should be done even if others dont feel that way …#like obviously re.2 really changed the trajectory of his life and changed parts of himself.. but i also think it cemented the core aspects #of what makes leon leon.. he couldnt help before so hes spent his whole life almost paying for that and trying to make up for it #okay whatever just wait for yhis fixation to tide over guys n i’ll crawl back into my little hole..#i just genuinely believe that deep down helping ppl is what he wants to do even if doesn’t always happen in the way he wants it to

and again emphasis on the fact that they only do it because they realized it would be mutually beneficial for something. and then after they’ve reaped the benefit of it for this one specific thing, they part ways bc stuff happens and then they forget that they’re technically married. until one day, one of them gets in trouble or injured or something and the other is called in (despite there being no obvious indication that they are married, maybe a classified certificate or a stupid gag gift somewhere but that’s it. and maybe a pair of rings bc sentimentality). that sorta becomes the catalyst for their relationship to blossom…
