The aftg books and the fandom just make me realise that I am more asexual than I thought.

Because why is Jeremy always horny?

Don’t you think Jeremy and Jean deserve to have a relationship outside of the things that they use as coping mechanisms, or are deeply rooted with trauma?

Being a writer and having friends that are writers is THE BEST THING EVER. I can send them a dozen screenshots with an absurd amount of text and just say "fix this 😭😭😭" and they will. Or we could talk through a single problem point for LITERAL HOURS and actually reach a good conclusion. I don't just have to argue with myself and scream my lungs out in frustration, never really finding the answer, because I can go back and forth with them and eventually reach a conclusion that sounds good and satisfied me. I love my writer friends so much!!

There are only 2 rules when it comes to writing fanfics:

Write whatever you want.

Have fun doing it.

That’s literally it. There is no “show and don’t tell”. There is no “make it realistic”. There is no “fit in with the trends”. And of course, there is no “write as fast as possible to keep up engagement and please others”.

No.

Most fanfiction writers are not professional writers. This isn’t a job, we’re literally writing for shits and giggles. We don’t have a team of editors behind us to make our story perfect. Fanfiction isn’t about creating the most perfect plot with the most perfect prose and the most perfect pacing.

Fanfiction writing is for you first. To make your heart happy. Other people just get the benefit to also enjoy it if they wish.

That’s it.

Write whatever makes you happy, with whatever writing style you want, whenever you want.

Why is everyone in every fandom space I'm in so damn horny?!?! Like I just want to enjoy posts or media about them and then either the people posting them or the comments are all horny people!!! Like bro why can you not keep it in your pants for a single fucking post?!?! It might just be me being asexual but it annoys me to no fucking end!! And then I end up not liking a post or a meme or a video because someone made it about sex or said something so disgustingly horny I could no longer enjoy the thing. I hate this and I'm not saying you aren't allowed to feel those things but like you don't have to voice it on every post, or every meme, or every video, or fanart, or whatever! I'm tired of trying to enjoy fandom stuff and connect with people about a shared interest and it always ending up being about sex! Sex isn't a big deal, it's not that important and I'm so tired of people putting it on such a high pedestal that nothing can be created without being sexualized to hell!! Please stop making everything about sex and just let some things exist without it!! I promise the world won't end if you don't post something sexual!

P. S. Please don't comment to argue or insult me, I'm only sharing my frustrations and not trying to insult anyone. If you don't like it, block me. I don't care. This is something I've struggled with my whole life and I just need to voice the frustration of it. I'm also posting this because I feel like there's probably quite a few ace people (or even allo people) who feel the same way but don't want to say anything because they don't think anyone else feels the same. "Kevin pov this", "Kevin pov that", NO give me Matt's pov. I want to dig deeper into his backstory, I want to hear about this weird tiny freshman with the most obnoxious mouth that nobody knows anything about, I want to hear first hand how much he loves and worries about the other foxes, I want to know his thinking when he gets into fights on the court, I want to hear about all the bets and why he puts his money where he does, I want insight into the upperclassmen. Just Matthew Boyd, ex addict, tall backliner, "you've got a friend in me", gambling, hotheaded, doofus. If anyone's point of view would be at all interesting to me it'd be his. He's on the outside of the monsters, but out of all the upperclassmen he has to deal with them most because he's on the backline. He's Neil's roommate for most of the series and like just imagine for a second finding out you're rooming with a freshman, and you meet him and he's so fucking weird. Nobody knows anything about him, he has a single duffle bag with all his stuff (which he buys a safe for), and then he immediately gets adopted into the "monsters" and yet still hangs with the upperclassmen. He bad-mouths a literal son of a Mafia multiple times and you know absolutely nothing except, "that was pretty fucking epic". Knowing nothing but at the same time, knowing too much. Being willing to drop everything to help someone, no matter what. Working on the court exclusively with people everyone is afraid of. Betting on anything and everything no matter how ridiculous just, Matthew Boyd, Matt.

I talk a lot to my friend about the marauders but they don't know how deep my obsession actually goes........
