You start writing, eventually.

- updated the dedication on one of my books, because nothing has reinvigorated the "abandoned young man" narrative of it like being left behind by all my role models as soon as i put myself out there to meet them and even to, in some cases, defend them. it really twists the knife in the pain of what i'd been writing into this POV and makes it that much more organic, palpable. i am wholly convinced this almost insurmountably devastating experience will create a profoundly devastating book, and i should be grateful to my feelings for that. not to them, but still, at least, to my own sincerity in being honest and raw with myself in allowing myself to react and to channel this unfiltered devastation, humiliation, anger, loss into my writing. make no mistake of it - i'm going to profit from this silence, this worst fathomable punishment, and sail into my art.
