This is a friendly reminder to my actor friends of the concept of Dual Consciousness. In embodying a character, you cannot “lose yourself”. You need to be both that character and your conscious normal self simultaneously.

Being in the moment is not an excuse for making wild acting choices that result in irreparably broken props and furniture. Your actions have consequences, often labor or financial consequences.

Don’t be a dick and write it off as “your character”.

The Dream

My ultimate theatre goal. Stage Manage the Tony’s. It’s not only an award show, but least 10 different musicals in one night. That is the dream.
