I'm sorry you guys!
【結月ゆかり】clock lock works【ロックベル・ウィンリィ】
月-— An engineering project.
Objective: Drop a raw egg from the top of a building without inserting fatal, damaging crevices. Teammate(s): Rockbell Winry.
Teammates were a gratifying thing.. Albeit the factoid that she had been assigned one instead of two, a consequence of belonging to a class that wasn’t a multiple of three. But bygones should be bygones. A project due in a limited span of a week—one of the numerous projects assigned hebdomadally. Truly unnerving, given the amount of time, not to mention the paltry amount of doled provisions.
They consisted of a ‘cache’ comprised of one panel of cardstock, four meters of imperishable monofilament fishing line, a box of tissues, and a full roll of tape.
Aa, she had to proceed with it already! She couldn’t shoulder the expense synonymous to definite peril by way of delaying progress to barter for a reviving slumber! Absolutely unacceptable! And this obstinate inclination shepherded her to the expanse of room 650. Digits slowly curled into a fist, hoisting it to a designated area on the door—the epicenter, equidistant from each side.
Knock, knock.
Trepidation enveloped her, dominating her disposition. Would she reply with the unbolting of the entrance? Extremity returned to its abode. Absent, perhaps? Or engrossed in pastimes? Within the restrictions of a grocery bag a box of chilled cheese cake veiled with chocolate and pierced by a stick began a process of defrosting, ice liquifying into beads of water embellishing the box.
—..Oh. The entrance yawned, a blonde projecting from margins. "..Hello. I-I ventured to your abode for the deadline of the assigned project would swiftly draw near." How daftly she verbalized each word. What a dullard—the other would likely remind her of the week they still had. The occupied hand gingerly raised its accolade. “We could eat these as work progresses.." she mitigated. ‘Aa, how worrisome.’
'It certainly is like nothing I've ever known, I'll give him that!' Winry conceded, hunched over her workbench trying to figure out how to work with only what she was given for this project.
Her partner was apparently some girl named Yuzuki Yukari, though Winry had yet to see much of her in class. This assignment was given pretty late, since their teacher was a bit forgetful, and had assigned it to his other classes in time while only just recalling he hadn't told a word to her class period until recently.
The man didn't even have the courtesy to extend the deadline for their sakes, simply urging her class to work diligently to catch up in time! Though she wasn't all that worried about it, it still bothered Winry how thoughtless the man was. If only she didn't have to deal with the beginning engineering class because she was so new! All the other courses were filled up, so she had to make due for the year.
Suddenly, a knock came at the door. Winry got up, assuming it must have been her partner, though it could have just as easily been one of her roommate's friends who came by every now and then.
Opening the squealing door, she saw a smaller girl with white hair and a jacket with rabbit ears holding up a bag with something condensing inside it.
"..Hello. I-I ventured to your abode for the deadline of the assigned project would swiftly draw near."
Wow. Well spoken, if a bit steep.
“We could eat these as work progresses.."
"Oh, yes. Hello! I'm Winry, if you don't already know. You must be Yukari. Come on in!" she politely replied, taking the offered bag from the girl as she opened the door wider to allow her in.
"Please excuse the mess, I was just thinking about the project, you see. I have the materials here as well, so don't be shy about tinkering with some ideas..." she added, gesturing to the woefully messy area around her desk. There were crumpled papers littering the immediate floor space, making a mountain of blue prints and sketches from projects both old and new. She spent most of her time thinking or tinkering here, so she tended to block out the mess. Only now did she really notice just how untidy it had gotten.
She quickly went about picking it up, tossing the papers and eraser shavings into the waste bin, filling it to bursting.
A Project to Rule Them All (Winry & Ene)
As the blonde in front of her introduced herself, Ene briefly scanned her appearance. From what she could tell, the girl was around her own age and the oil stained jumpsuit suggested that she was some sort of mechanic. Ene’s expression brightened at her observations. What great luck! Who would’ve thought she would run into a mechanic on her first day? Having one as a friend is extremely convenient for an A.I. like herself.
What was also nice about the whole meeting was that the blonde seemed sweet. Not everyone is kind enough or cares enough to tell a stranger on the bus that it’s their stop.
"You can call me Ene. It’s nice to meet you too, Winry-chan!" she replied with equal excitement and followed the girl off the bus with her bag in hand. With her free hand, she extended it towards the girl to shake. That’s what humans do when they first meet, right?
Her electric blue eyes glanced down at the other’s work clothes once more and smiled, shaking her head lightly and waving her hand. “It’s okay! If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of work do you do?"
Of course, Ene already had an idea of what she did, but she could be wrong. She couldn’t imagine how embarrassing that would be! Not to mention, she could lose a potential friend by guessing incorrectly and possibly offending the girl.
She could only suppose that people were just complicated like that.
Happy to be of some help, Winry gracefully accepted the blue-haired girl's thanks. It was nice to see someone just coming in to the school, and recalling her first trying days at Spica, she was determined to do what she could to help this new girl adjust.
She wondered which part of the school this girl was going to, knowing full well that looks could be deceiving. That, however, was a question for another time. It wouldn't do to offend her new acquaintance by asking about her age so early on.
"You can call me Ene. It’s nice to meet you too, Winry-chan!"
The girl -Ene- extended her dainty hand for Winry to shake. She glanced at her soiled work gloves, deliberating as to whether to take off the gloves to shake or politely decline. She referred to her dirty garbs, giggling nervously.
“It’s okay! If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of work do you do?"
Oh. This question.
Without a moment's hesitation, Winry began a passionate diatribe on her life's devotion to mechanical engineering, more specifically the designing and building of automail protheses.
"- I've been doing it all my life, and I've been striving to improve my work so I can provide the very best for my customers! I haven't been doing it so much recently, though. Right now, I've been working part-time at SatoMobiles, repairing the steam cars and helping design new models for transmission and engine work. That last part I do for the fun of it, but I guess with time I could get a real full-time position if I wanted to!" Though it would be easy to continue at SatoMobiles, Winry already knew that that would not be where her life took her. She had found her calling in automail engineering- this was just a temporary thing while she was in this town, with it's non-existent demand for automail.
Despite this, Winry could do little to keep out the tenderness in her voice that betrayed her love for all things mechanical, and she practically swooned at the mention of enrolling at Spica for the sake of exposing herself to the latest and greatest in the field.
After a while, she had to stop herself and remember that she was trying not to scare away this nice girl. Clearing her throat, she rubbed the back of her head nervously.
"Ahem, well I guess that's the gist of it. Sorry if I went on a tangent there. I just really love what I do..." she was lost for a moment, scrambling for something to add. "Eh, what about you? What brings you here, Ene-chan?"
how we met again. Ed || Winry
As he handed the stew to her, he sat down so that he could face her directly, but not enough to make her uncomfortable. She ate the stew with a slight smile on her face, which made him break out with a stupid grin again. Still keeping eye contact with her, he patiently waited for her answer.
“I’ve had better….”
Eh? You’ve had better? Why? Did something happen to you today? Anything wrong?
Controlling his flow of thoughts, he only let out a small “Oh…”
Following her gaze, he realized she was staring at him. Of course, he realized he was not his usual self, but was it that weird to be happy when he saw her? He reminisced back to their childhood days back in Resembool, when they played together with Al and Den until sunset. The days of silly antics were over, and only the days of humdrum future were waiting for them. Maybe she was a bit down because of the arduous education at this school? Spica is a prestigious school, after all.
She still kept her eyes on him as she ate. Of course, he didn’t look away, either. It seemed like she was thinking about something carefully, studying his grin like that. She finally opened her mouth and spoke.
"Ed, it’s not that I don’t like seeing you -don’t get me wrong I missed you like crazy- but…umm…why’re you…?"
she said, getting more and more red-faced as she spoke. What did she mean by that? He was just happy to see her; was it that weird that he was smiling and welcoming all of sudden?
… yeah, maybe. He did admit, it was kinda weird not to have a wrench thrown at his face when he saw her. Sure, they were good childhood friends, but this simple moments of peace never seemed to last long with her.
“N-nevermind.." she sighed.
He pondered at the question for a moment. Why am I…?
How to put it?
“Well, like you said, I missed you crazy, too!” he said, with his particular grin that he made when he was feeling exuberant.
He could feel her gaze at him once again, and he decided to stop grinning so much. Maybe it did freak her out, after all. Trying to change the mood, he asked another question.
“How’s Resembool? And how’s Granny?"
When Ed admitted me missed her like crazy as well, Winry couldn't suppress the smile that broke out on her face. Once she though it over a little more, she conceded that his warm welcome wasn't all that strange. She doubted he had expected her to show up there, just like she hadn't known he was there until earlier today. Why did she have to react so badly to him?
The shift in mood saw her relaxing, as the mechanic didn't always know what to make of his dialogue. At times Winry could safely tell herself he was just as interested in her as she was in him, but then he would do or say something...and she wasn't always so sure.
“How’s Resembool? And how’s Granny?"
Brought out of her thoughts by his question, Winry looked at him warmly over her stew. It was delicious, so she took another spoonful before answering him.
"Oh, she's doing okay. Things have been pretty quiet around there, and I was thinking about taking on an apprenticeship with someone more versed in recent trends. Granny's a great teacher and all, but she's very traditional, and I wonder how much more I can learn from a master in, say, Rush Valley." The very mention of Rush Valley gave her pause.
Remembering what she was getting to, she continued, "Resembool is as quiet as ever. That's why I came here, you know."
She snapped up, recalling the very thing that brought her to Bunkyo in the first place. "Mr. Mustang actually suggested this place after Miss Riza came to visit one day. I was complaining about wanting to expand my knowledge, and he gave me the brochure! I have to thank him the next time I see him..."
If he hadn't suggested Spica, she never would have run into Ed here. Now, she wouldn't have to sit by and twiddle her thumbs while he was off to God-knows-where doing who-knows-what. At least while he was here, he wasn't getting himself blown up or attacked.
Winry wouldn't be forced to sit by, waiting for the phone calls he never made.
"Where's Al, by the way? Is he here too?" she added, distracting herself from her thoughts by posing the question that had been on the tip of her tongue since she had first seen him.
"I’m fine with being a machine freak, too!"

Sorry for being so absent lately! I've been dealing with some stuff irl, but not to fear, there will be responses soon!
Short Circuit - Winry and Len
A small smile appeared on Len’s face as he sat across from Winry, placing his arm on the table. “I need you to fix my arm." he said as he used his other arm to pop his shoulderblade and a small line appeared, where the robot quickly peeled the synthetic skin off.
"My name is Kagamine Len." he introduced as he placed the synthetic skin in his backpack.
The robot managed to twitch a couple of fingers, but the steel bone looked nearly broken. "I have no shortage of money. I just need my arm to be repaired." Len stared at the blonde girl in front of him and picked up a cloth, wiping away some oil from her face.
Winry watched intently as the boy told her his business.
“I need you to fix my arm."
Hmmm? His arm? Does she dare think he somehow got his hands on automail in this foreign country? She was under the impression that that technology had yet to leave Amestris and Xing...
Then he goes and pops his shoulderblade and peels off his skin! Her eyes bugged out for a moment, and after that brief moment of shock, she felt the stirrings of intense interest. He definitely had her undivided attention now!
"My name is Kagamine Len."
Oh wow! Her eyes went wide with wonder as she considered the possibilities of this technology. This is what she came here for!
Such craftsmanship, such detail in even the contours of the metal and the skin! It looked positively gorgeous!
She paid no mind to his claim that he was not short of money, for though she would charge him, just the pleasure of working with such a fine piece of machinery was about payment enough!
"Well yes, I'm sure I can repair you, though I need some time to get an idea of what the damage is and how best to repair it..." she went on in a blur, consumed with her excitement. She was halted by Len picking up a rag and wiping something off her face.
She flushed scarlet, unused to someone in her personal space like this, much less a new customer! She took the cloth from him gently.
"Aha, thanks. I'm always so careless about getting oil all over me!" she assured him.
Short Circuit - Winry and Len
That basketball game with Aomine wasn’t good on his metallic body. Len checked his sensors and realized a part of his steel frame had broken from the contact sport.
He needed a mechanic. He wouldn’t function properly without getting repaired.
Len had asked a few people where I could see a mechanic, and it seemed the person named ‘Winry’ was the person he would see if he needed to get repaired.
Upon seeing a girl in the Autoshop room who was tinkering with spare dryer parts and a wrench, Len knocked on the door lightly to get her attention.
"I heard you do repairs.." he mumbled, holding his shoulder. If this was the person he was looking for, he would be able to allow her to repair his frame…
Winry was spending most of her time in the autoshop, it seems. Since completing her last robotics project a few weeks ago, she had takena break from her work and spent most of her time pursuing other interests.
She couldn't deny, however, that it felt so good to be tinkering again! Since her little vacation, she emerged more interested than ever in going back to her tools and work bench.
So it was that when the dryer in the girl's second-floor laundry room sputtered and died, that she gladly offered to fix it for the school free of charge. It was more than worth it to have another project on her hands as it was!
She was happily humming a tune, wrist deep in the dryer's motor, trying to figure out how it ticked and where it went wrong. Three phase AC induction motors were no walk in the park...
"I heard you do repairs.."
Eh?
Winry looked up from her project and took in another person in her work-space. It was a rather small-framed blonde boy, looking around as if unsure of himself.
"Well you heard correctly!" she beamed, strangely happy to hear she had acquired a reputation as a gearhead. "Winry Rockbell, at your service! How can I help you, that is, assuming you really did come for a repair job?"
theautomailgeek replied to your post: ah a warning people;
it’s all good! thanks for the considerate warning for some of our more tender-hearted members!
"Ah! I can tell I like you already blonde human whose name I haven’t found out but…but…please you are too kind to me.."
"Oh please! You're too kind yourself! I'm Winry, by the way."
A Project to Rule Them All (Winry & Ene)
"Next stop, Spica Dormitories."
Ene barely heard the announcement over the music that was blaring from her headphones, but even if she didn’t have the headphones on, she wouldn’t have heard it anyways because her mind was focused on something else. Her electric blue eyes were trained on her hands, which were laid with her palms up on her lap, and millions of thoughts ran through her mind. The AI couldn’t help but worry whether this illusion of a body she made for herself to look human would actually work. Because her body was basically made up of millions upon millions of pixels, she had to constantly make sure that nothing/nobody would touch her in a way that was anything but gently. She couldn’t even hold her own luggage because it was so heavy, it would go right through her hands! The most she could carry was a light backpack. Thank goodness Kido, the leader of Mekakushi Dan, was able to get her luggage in her room beforehand.
With a small sigh, she shook her head lightly and smiled as she looked down at the paper in her hand with the Spica badge on it. It was no use to feel that way. Who was she to worry anyways? She was Ene, the sixth member of Mekakushi Dan! When she got serious, everyone knew that she would get the job done no matter what. It’s true that this is a slightly more risky mission that needed to be handled with the greatest care, but she couldn’t doubt herself now. Besides, if anything were to go wrong, all she had to do was escape into the nearest computer or phone and send herself back home. Simple as that! It wouldn’t be too hard to find one anyways since this was Spica she was talking about; it’s basically known for its advanced technology! Her smile turned up into a grin at the mere thought of all the technology she could go through and mess with during her stay.
Suddenly, Ene felt a gentle tap on her shoulder and she instinctively flinched away from the touch, hoping whatever it was didn’t blow her cover. It took her a few seconds to realize the person meant no harm and was simply pointing out that the bus was getting close to her stop. How the person knew it was her stop was beyond her, but she smiled widely at the stranger anyways.
"Thanks so much! I’m new here, so I’m still figuring out my way around," she explained sheepishly.
Winry was walking from Satomobiles, still wearing the oil and rolled-up jumpsuit from her work. She decided to take the bus today, too exhausted to make the walk from town to her dorm today. Most of the repairs had to be done standing up, so her legs felt like jelly at this point. She hopped on, relieved to finally have a place to sit.
She plopped down on the nearest seat and let out a contented sigh. Oh sweet lord that felt good on her aching feet.
She proceeded to lean her head back against the glass windows, her bangs matted to her forehead from a long day's work. Peeking over to the person seated nearest her, she noticed a short girl with blue hair looking a little lost in thought. The girl's bag and fresh-faced stance let her know that this stranger was probably a new student. Since this bus only stopped at Spica, she figured it wouldn't hurt to be friendly.
The robotic voice overhead stated the next stop would be the school. She looked like she hadn't heard it, so Winry tapped her lightly on the shoulder, mindful not to startle the girl too much.
At her simple touch, the girl's eyes flew open wider and she flinched back violently. Winry quickly pointed to the stop, a little surprised she had caused such a reaction in this apparently jittery girl.
Ah just my luck. the girl's hardly in the school and already I freaked her out...
But it seemed she hadn't royally screwed up, since she soon heard the soft voice of her companion addressing her.
"Thanks so much! I’m new here, so I’m still figuring out my way around."
Oh. Well then, she guessed right after all. Winry mentally patted herself on the back for being such a good observer.
"Oh, really it's no problem! I was just on my way to the school myself! I'm Winry Rockbell, nice to meet you!" she said excitedly as she walked out of the bus with her new acquaintance.
She stole a glance down at her dirty work clothes and giggled nervously. "Please excuse my appearance. I was just coming home from work.."
More sports guys? The only thing worse than the usual buffoons are that they don’t know how to keep clothes on.
"Oh jeez, they're everywhere!"

Hello! Just checking in to apologize for any inactivity recently. There's been some undesirable circumstances that have arisen, and they must be tended to before RPing can resume! I'll be back, no worries!
Come on; LETS PLAY || Open Roleplay
"HEY YOU ! YEAH YOU THE ONE I’M POINTING AT!" The blonde shouted as he waved a finger. Dressed in his swim trunks and a towel over his shoulder the young man ran over to the group of others.
Being a leader, or so Naruto took the role as such when he hit the indoor beach place. He was now surrounded by other students and some Bunkyo citizans as well.
"Listen up! I got sun screen," He held up the bottle with a big grin. “And I got water guns" He said holding up a bag with some plastic toy guns in it. He was ready to have fun.
But he was just doing his best to get the others ready as well.
"What you say? Wanna join in? Or should I just attack you with water guns without a care??" the ninja asked laughing happily.
Winry found herself poolside in the newly opened tropical garden, hoping to take the weekend off to enjoy herself for once. Her workaholic tendencies had gotten the better of her the last few weeks, and it was nice to just kick back and relax for a while.
"HEY YOU ! YEAH YOU THE ONE I’M POINTING AT!"
Huh? Winry turned around to see a blonde guy with a foxy grin and whisker marks on his cheeks pointing into the crowd, voice thundering over the chatter around her.
"Listen up! I got sun screen, and I got water guns! What you say? Wanna join in? Or should I just attack you with water guns without a care??"
His face looked like it was going to split in half how wide he was smiling. His eyes scrunched up and everything!
Winry thought for a moment that the guy seemed a little immature, the way he was acting, but stopped herself. Here was a guy fully prepared to enjoy the day. She wanted to have some fun too, and since she wasn't expecting anyone at the moment, why not be social? It wouldn't hurt to engage in something new.
Getting out of the water and stepping up to the stranger, Winry smiled.
"Hey, I'd like to join in if you don't mind!" she exclaimed, feeling proud of herself for taking the dive (haha pun intended).
She boldly reached into the guy's bag of water guns and pulled one out, wielding it and beckoning more people to join in.
Love and Flowers
Satomobiles was probably one of the last places on earth Ino would have ever thought of stepping her foot into. Her need to always be looking her best and have that feminine touch was being severely challenged by this place she would consider a man’s job. All the dirt and grease, she wouldn’t even dare touch anything around there in fear of getting something on her that could not be easily removed.
What shocked her even more was when she realized that the worker there that she had stopped was a woman. Ino didn’t think any girl would voluntarily work here in a place that required getting dirty. It was unfathomable, not to mention being surrounded by guys who probably smelled…ick!
By the expression of the girl, she had to be Winry and she must have not expected such a gift. Now Ino was really curious at who could have been so generous. For a man to be interested in a woman regardless of her appearance, there must be something great about them. That’s how Ino saw it anyways. Ino was a girl dedicated to her appearance, always trying the newest diets and making sure she looked the part of what it meant to be a girl. Yet here she was, single and working while someone with greasy clothes was receiving flowers. Ino couldn’t understand why this was.
Shaking her head from those thoughts, Ino realized she hadn’t said anything yet and Winry was most likely waiting for an explanation. With a smile back on her face, Ino held out the flowers for Winry to take.
"Someone had ordered them earlier today for you, but they didn’t leave a name."
Forgetting where she was and what she could smell, the sly side of Ino surfaced as she inched over closer with a smile on her face. “Any ideas as to who they’re from?" Ino giggled, hoping to find out more information on the matter. Not knowing everything was a problem for Ino, she had to be in on anything and everything. “You see, we hardly ever get orders for this specific arrangement. They’re very special to get."
Winry sputtered, unable to believe the gall of this flower girl! The girl was giving her a conspiratorial look, obviously getting a kick out of her reaction.
"Someone had ordered them earlier today for you, but they didn’t leave a name."
"Any ideas as to who they’re from? You see, we hardly ever get orders for this specific arrangement. They’re very special to get."
Anonymous flowers?
Winry didn't let herself hope they were from a certain golden-haired alchemist, reminding herself that there were probably a bunch of other possible reasons. Maybe they were from some creep? What if they were from that Roger guy who worked in the bakery across the street? He bothered her on occasion on her lunch breaks....hmmm.
Looking at the girl, she realized she hadn't said anything yet.
"A-ano... Well there might be someone...heh" she stuttered out, blushing furiously. Wow, a special arrangement, huh?
"Could it be...?" she muttered to herself, incredulous at the possibility that a certain loaded friend of hers would go to the trouble of buying such an expensive flower arrangement. Taking another look at it, she couldn't deny it was breathtaking. It even had Chrysanthemums, her favorite. Who else would know that?
Wait! What was she doing!?
She didn't even know this delivery girl and she was already feeding this girl's obvious hunger for gossip! She moved to take the flowers from the girl and thanking her for the delivery, leaving herself to mull over this in private.
"I mean- yes, I'm Winry! I'll be taking those now, haha," she said embarrassed.

Winry [Rockbell] and Rin are actually good friends, and even though Winry has offered a thousand times to build Rin a set of automail arms, Rin refuses, claiming that she is fine the way she is.
…
…
Nevertheless...it doesn’t stop Winry from drawing up plans for a set of limbs just in case.
Introductions (Winry & Kyoko)
"Ah, yes... Do you know where the dorms for Junior High are?" Kyoko looked at the taller girl, covering the strong glow of her Soul Gem.
'Please tell me quickly..." She thought, wondering if someone important could be at risk.
Winry rubbed the back of her head nervously, noticing the girl's shifty eyes and growing restlessness. The dorms were a ways away from the front, since the Junior High students were generally expected to keep within the bounds of the school for reasons of liability.
Wow she must have something pretty urgent on her mind, huh? she thought.
"Well I;m glad I could help you there! Here, I was just headed that way, maybe I could tag along and lead you there?" she offered.
As she started to walk in the direction of the dorms, she whirled around, having forgotten something.
"Oh silly me! I'm sorry, my name is Winry Rockbell, nice to meet you!" she said, saluting the girl instead of shaking her hand. She had the impression that her new acquaintance wouldn't take well to a handshake.
