so far i have only read bts fics on tumblr and i barely even remember the exo, b2st/highlight, infinite fics i have read so this is basically just a bts fanfic recommendation.

warning: most of them are fluffs because i’m such a hoe for it and some has descriptive smuts (it’ll be specified on each link). barely any angst.

this is just a collection of my favorite fics, i hope you like them as much as i do.

most of them are jungkook’s but i surprisingly have kind of a lot ?? of yoongi’s too.

also pls recommend me more hoseok fics he’s like my 2nd ult but i have not read a lot of hobi fics :( and also recommend me some of joon’s and jin’s too! especially jin bc i have none. but basically just recommend me any fics you like!!

Spoken Word Poetry 101

Spoken Word Poetry a.k.a. Slam Poetry is basically a poem in it's most non-formal way written and is delivered publicly.

I'm not an expert on these things but our professor got the hang of it and asked us to make and deliver one as our final examination for English. Some tips I want to share:

Consider all the requirements of your teacher (i.e. how long its gonna be, what topic etc)

Find some inspiration. Watch. Watch. Watch. 

Here are some brilliant ones:

My personal favorite:

Start with something you know or feel passionate about.

Jot everything you know about that topic

Write a rough draft for each and what seem to be the topic that you could expound best upon---use it. Usually it's more of a story-telling

Revise some words so they'd rhyme or flow in a lyrical manner.

Add a quote or two if you like and add the source as well

Have fun!

The best presentations in my opinion is when there are two speakers. :)

Google, please help me out, I begged.

Here and there I watch them flare

Spoken word poetry, how riveting! I swear.

“Look at how Sarah Kay and Phillip Kaye go!

And no, they are not dating, I should know.”

  Oh hear Taylor Mali’s piece entitled What Teachers Make,

And encrypt these lines in your head---AHEM (clears throat)

  “If you got this *points to the brain,*

Then you follow this *points to the heart*

And if someone ever tries to judge you based on what you make

You give them this *middle finger*"

Or due to censorship issues, the flappy bird.

  Brilliant minds, they all are!

Not what I was looking for,

but thanks Google for scaring me more.

Now expectations arise like never before.

  They once said that writing poetry comes in a song,

One, two, three

Pick a word that rhymes with me

Then add some glitters and KABOOM!

Sugar, spice and everything nice!

A poem you have boys and girls.

  But boy how I wish they added a disclaimer,

Or a sign same as that one that says,

“Park at your own risk,” seen at the soccer field

But this will read, “do at your sanity’s own risk.”

  Paper and pen I am armed,

Ideas too---once they were warmed.

Ideas are water, they say and I do agree.

For all the words and phrases I jotted down

No connection was ever found.

Every inch of the paper, no room to spare

Hoping for a bulb to light up and say,

“Let’s get your thoughts together!” oh how I long.

  And once I had four different topics all written down,

Poured my heart and brain out to every word that will bound,

Yet no topic can be stretched out so far,

Enough for a three minutes speech to be given out.

As if chastising me saying,

“Pull your socks up,”

Slams the door at my face.

  Once you do get to write a poem long enough.

Problems will still arise

Saying, “Oh wait, there’s more!”

Bland as rice, your words become.

Like silver and orange, no rhyming partners can be found.

  Lingering hereto and thereto distractions connive,

At the times you least want them to, big things come in surprise!

“Oh Kim! Have you seen the Vampire Academy Movie? It’s sooo good!”

“Oh My Gosh did you know Zac will present on the Oscars this Sunday? Eeep!”

And with a twitching eye you ask heavens why,

And instead of engaging, you reply,

“Yeah guys, Thanks not helping right now.”

  With a sigh you decide you’ll give up

But behold a miracle happens that tells you not.

Out of the blue, I thought of a thing,

Something that is brewing in me, how can I not see?

“How frustrating it is, to write a poem!” I said.

  Now I know of a secret there is,

To writing poem with a bit of ease

Aside from passion, which we’ll never acquire

Us of different descent should adapt to a new style.

Seek something that we can say to as,

Hashtag hugot.

  So here I decided to rave thereon,

Frustrations I faced writing this poem.

And know one day, you’ll encounter this.

Do keep in mind that you are not alone.

In this agonizing homework that says,

“Write a poem.”

Debuts in a New Era

Gone were the days where debuts are traditional and sends the crowd to sleep. There is now a surge of modern day twists to the traditional celebrations. Here are some:

Debut Themes

Debut themes are anchored to what you fantasized your special day would look like. Go crazy!

The theme would reflect the whole setting of your debut. From decors, roses, food, what people wear, giveaway gifts, pre-debut shoots etc.

The 18 Roses ANYTHING

Moreover, gone were the days where dances are the good 'ol sways, now there is an incorporation of pop songs---even dads dig it. The choice of songs depends on who you will dance with, did you bond over Cali Swag District's Teach Me How to Dougie or did he embarrassingly danced Macarena in class? The 18 Candles and/or 18 Gifts

In most debuts I've been to, the debutant decided to remove this part or replace it with 18 Gifts instead. Some however, vamps this up in a new way:

The candles are incased in this miniature lamps and hanged in a tree (pictured below).

For debut attendees, you can go creative in your message than the usual. Example, you describe the person and your wishes for her using her initials. Like for me, KIM, K-ind, I-ntuitive, M-eek. :)  And expound. (Photo courtesy of Alysson Bonsol)

18 models

This one's optional. I've only attended one debut that incorporated this, it was fun though. Basically have 18 friends who would walk and pose on the runway. Think Victoria's Secret FS with clothes on. :P

Again, this is optional as well but fun. What better way to celebrate your coming of age than to toast to it?

It's usually done with alcohol, but I've attended one where a mini-game is held. The winner gets the alcohol and losers get a mixture of kitchen things like soy + vinegar +ketchup. Nasty. :P

Lastly, the photoshoots.

Aside from the usual, one can incorporate different, fun styles for this one. It can be themed per table, i.e. Table 1 may be about riding a bus, Table 2 would be about a protest, etc. It's fun! 

As much as I want to place a pic, my friend might kill me :P But you do get the point, right? :)

VAMPIRE ACADEMY MOVIE REVIEW (no BS)

I am a BIG fan of Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead. The story is targeted for a young adult audience and I've enjoyed reading all 6 books of the series. A must-read, srsly.

As hardcore fans, we were over the moon when we heard there's gonna be a film, and like the usual fanbase, we scrutinized the selected cast.

I admit that I was not at all satisfied by their choice of cast, I mean seriously who would make the cut than what we had in mind? :P

My first impressions of the movie poster was just bad. I didn't like the neon parts. I mean yes, hi director of Mean Girls, with all due respect, why did you even have to incorporate that in here? Don't get me wrong the books are sooo good content wise. It's not what others would expect of a teen vampire book. It is quite full of depth. Anyway, I didn't like their approach, the book has so much more potential and depth.

However, I do understand somehow why it was portrayed the way it was, and my theory is on the approach and perception people would have upon seeing the poster, yes I would say that worked, the audience wouldn't get that bored. The downside, however, is on the appreciation of the story as somehow shallow. So I decided to give the film the benefit of the doubt (I would watch it anyway. Haha! :))

I've had the chance to watch the movie---FINALLY! I'm sooo happy I got the time! The cast was amazing and shaped-up quite well! However, I feel the need to comment on Dimitri's portrayal, he's supposed to be a bit more mysterious.

I felt that the scenes were a bit fast paced and I think this was due to a lack of transition. The story was still there, although it was overlapped by the superficial---clothes, make-up, language etc.

I also like some of the modern twists in the movie (i.e. adaptation of pop culture) I wish that they retained some more the ancient elegance the story have. Costume, make up, setting was overall good. I liked that the setting or background was able to maintain the simple elegance of the story.

That's it I guess.

You should really read the book. It's sooo good. :)

7 Easy-To-Make French Braid Hairstyles 2014

If you have long hair like me, you probably want to tie it all up if you're not in the mood to curl it, flaunt it or just have a bad hair day.

Below are the many styles you can create with a simple, traditional technique: the french braid! Let's get started!

1. The traditional braid. This works best for layered hair, gather your long hair to one side and braid. The shorter ones that didn't make it can be teased or cruched up with mousse to achieve Miley's look.

2. I don't know what this is called. LOL! But basically what you do is part your hair, depending what side you want to use, braid it gathering hair as you go. Curl the ends and viola! (Photo courtesy: www.hairstyleaa.com)

3. The Inverted French Braid Top Knot or Inverted Centepede. Part you hair in 2 sections. 1 is the "bangs" or hair you want to style to frame your face, then tie it. The second section you will braid your hair from the nape, gathering hair from the sides as you go all the way up to the crown. Stop gathering hair, just continue to braid the hair 'til its ends then throw it into a bun and secure. Untying the first part, you can basically do anything with it.   4. The Side Braid Updo

Braid your hair from the side, adding hair ONLY from the bottom part to achieve this look. Continue to do so 'til you reach the end and tie it in a knot. (Photo courtesy of www.princesshairstyles.com)
