there is a non-zero chance that tom was the one who had to pull logan’s dead body out of the bathroom. corpses are heavy as hell and he is far and away the physically strongest person in that cabin. but however it happens, logan’s body gets laid out on the floor. tom tries to call shiv but she ignores his call at least twice, so he calls roman, and then he has to break the news that logan’s not coming back from this one, not this time, and he knows the body on the floor in front of him is long past the reach of cpr but he offers the kindest lie he’s ever told and gives kendall, roman, and shiv a chance at feeling like they got to say goodbye. he kneels next to the corpse of their father and holds his phone to an unhearing ear and listens to their tinny, devastated cries through the speaker, and tries to ignore the crunch of broken ribs from the chest compressions still happening next to him. he keeps it together. he stays gentle-voiced and level-headed. he does not break. he does not cry.
