My dad gave these to me today and asked if I wanted to take them back with me. I'm sure these just look like two planks of wood but, to me, they're a symbol of one of the hardest journeys and biggest accomplishment I've ever achieved. This is the board that I broke during my testing for my black belt in Taekwondo. It was also the first wooden board I ever broke. Every testing up to that point was done with the reusable boards. I knew I would ace the weapons portion, the two patterns, and the sparring part but I spent months afraid of this board. It was the last thing we did that day and I went last out of the five of us who were testing for our black belts. I can remember as if it were yesterday the feeling of relief, pride, and elation when the board gave way. I'm super excited to be taking these home. #memories #stillproud #reversehookkick

There was a time in my life where God was the furthest thing from my mind and there is no doubt in my mind that He carried me and protected me through the many stupid situations I got myself into because of this woman's faith and the many prayers she prayed for my growth, protection, and well-being. My grandmother tells me quite often these days that she's proud of the woman I have grown to be and I can't even begin to describe how much that means to me. #rolemodel #sothankfulforher
