This document is intended to serve as a resource to white people and parents to deepen our anti-racism work. If you haven’t engaged in anti-racism work in the past, start now. Feel free to circulate this document on social media. To take immediate action to fight for Breonna Taylor, please v...
Black activists on Twitter have been sending this link around today. It’s a long document with anti-racism resources geared toward white people who want to effectively help their Black neighbors in the fight against white supremacy.
Note: I did NOT compile these resources, I am simply sharing them.
clearview AI can recognize faces even given an input image where the subject’s nose and mouth are covered (nytimes)
stop posting images of protesters
straight up family vloggers/bloggers shouldnt be allowed to be a thing
at all
ever
there should be laws against it
it has literally never been anything but traumatizing to the children involved, it will always, by its very nature, incentivize seeing your children not as people but as avenues for monetization, it will lead you to harmful behaviors and lead you to say untrue things about your children because it generates clicks and ad revenue
it is child abuse, even if you never hit your children, it is horrible, and i wish all those kids that were exploited like that could be with families that actually cared for them, i wish their parents saw them and treated them like they should
children are not fucking products, they are not hooks to get more views, every family vlogger is a fucking monster
it’s just fucking SICK how white men can show up to public buildings with guns and police just stand and stare ... white women will scream at minorities and protest for their rights to get haircuts and police won’t do anything ... but say that black people should be treated like people and fucking tear gas and rubber bullets come out. when people say black lives matter, it’s a reminder because police keep acting like black lives are meaningless. every fucking day.
brushing riots off as senseless violence and refusing to listen to black people and activists about the situation makes you inherently racist actually. presenting yourself as woke or progressive or non-racist while actively talking over and/or ignoring poc is inherently racist. refusing to try to understand why people are reacting the way they are and going into your internet echo chamber of other fake-woke white people,,,,,,,,, like the list goes on & on. if you're not gonna try to listen to black people or understand why people are doing what they're doing, you need to stop pretending you care about black people and black lives
There are lots of posts going around about George Floyd, including links to Shaun King’s scam PAC that purports to be about taking action but is really about getting people’s emails to then rope them into one of his many self-serving fundraisers. Interestingly, it does not link to the family’s GoFundMe, although I have also seen posts here that do, with add-on reblogs that link to fundraising pages that the family and lawyer said are fraudulent. I don’t want to tell people what to do in this moment since there is so much that needs doing, but having good information is key. If giving money to the family is part of that effort, I’d start by following Benjamin Crump, the family’s lawyer, on twitter, for up-to-date and accurate information.
Also be wary of any post linking you to a petition, there was one for Breonna Taylor and it was to Action PAC, which is the PAC @madrassoup refers to above, but you wouldn’t have known unless you really looked at it.
Another reputable place to donate that came up today is the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which is committed to paying bail for arrested protestors. They are also linking to Black Visions Collective, Reclaim the Block and Northstar Health Collective (medics) as supply and support organizations for the protests.
that's the thing tho like u can spread awareness abt racism WITHOUT showing graphic images/videos of black ppl losing their lives like… it’s dehumanizing and upsetting and if u rlly wanna argue w black ppl on it go fuck urself
ok wojak
A lot of transmisogynists on here keep a sideblog for their explicit rants and TERF reblogs and such, but on their main blog, still share pictures of animals and other innocuous content from the TERF blogs they follow. So their main blog is still full of reblogs from their transmisogynist mutuals, but they have a thin layer of plausible deniability because they only reblog the explicitly transmisogynist stuff to the side account.
Gluten-Free-Pussy is a good example of this – endless reblogs on main from her TERF buddies, but (mostly) not the TERF content itself. Though she eventually dropped even that level of pretense
Similarly on twitter – trans women noticed J.K. Rowling was liking tweets from & also following TERF accounts long before she became open about her views. Cis women insisted that Rowling was being Witch-Hunted, that liking and following is not an endorsement, that hysterical transes just hate a successful woman, etc. right up until Rowling confirmed it herself.
Cis women on social media constantly play this chickenshit game of “yeah I’m following and agree with some things from transmisogynist hate group members, I follow a lot of people, that doesn’t mean I endorse everything they say :/” – following and reposting from transmisogynists is often the only warning trans women get before the person in question joins in on harassment and doxxing campaigns against us
Obviously following someone doesn’t mean perfect unity with their every thought and whim, but that’s not really at issue lmao
Idk maybe if cis women particularly weren’t such cowards about their fixations on trans women (half of the TERF blogs on this site read “sideblog” in the description) we wouldn’t have this Very Serious And Real Problem of their follows and reblogs being Unfairly Scrutinized 🤔
don’t post pictures of unmasked protestors! especially right now! the police don’t need more of a reason to target people who are protesting George Floyd’s death
99% of the protestors ARE masked and y’all are still posting face pics of the ones that aren’t please stop making their images go viral
people are killed for this shit, protests are a unit, not an individual action, stop drawing attention to the individuals
several activists/protesters from Ferguson were murdered. this isn’t a joke people’s lives are really at risk when you do this. Whether its police retaliation or white supremacists.
I’ve said this before in other contexts, but it bears repeating: some of you aren’t wary enough of christians
#yes this includes Epic Leftist Christians and We Can Change Catholicism From Within types
“Just about all societies that get called “indigenous,” “tribal,” or “hunter-gatherer” (terms that in these contexts tend to mean “not integrated into industrial capitalism”) manage (or used to manage) their natural environments so as to provide for themselves. We, in the midst of capitalism, might crave something we like to call the wild, but indigenous forms of knowledge as well as the historical and anthropological evidence show clearly that we and our genetic forebears have controlled our environments in order to provide for ourselves for hundreds of thousands of years. For the greater part of that time our main tool was fire. Bill Gammage has shown, for instance, that the national parks of modern Australia — those areas that civilization reserves for wilderness — are very different from the pre-colonial landscape. Australia’s indigenous people did not live in the “wild,” but in an environment that they had deliberately shaped to provide for themselves. It was a continent-wide land management system.”

guys can you please just TRY to question why you get so defensive at criticism of fucking meme formats you like using when people express discomfort with them because so many of them come from very racist or antisemitic or homophobic or ableist places? can you do the barest bit of introspection?
on why you immediately bristle rather than taking two seconds and being like, "oh hey maybe insulting people or viewpoints i dont agree with by using this reaction image of a wojak with a dented head and drooling is offensive and hurtful to disabled and ND people" and just.... not using it anymore?
or how we now symbolize viewpoints we DO agree with with a buff nordic man with blond hair and blue eyes in direct opposition to a man with messy patchy black hair and a weak chin? that was explicitly taken from 4chan and was used to show how superior their white supremacist viewpoints were?
like, our ability to be funny online, to interact with each other as people and have fun here does not have to hinge so heavily on whatever specific meme formats you personally enjoy especially when many of the ones that have become popular have absolutely heinous origins and still perpetuate bigoted views, consciously or not, when we use them, regardless of whether weve "taken them from the fascists"
(id also strongly urge you to think about what "taking" a bigoted meme format from fascists actually MEANS when its not a physical object but instead a visual they created that we keep spreading FOR them in our own circles)
like i just genuinely do not understand why yall get so defensive about this shit, and go on these weird, treatise length posts about how theres no ethical meme consumption and it doesnt matter because its all online and not directly linked to real life organizing
like.... what does that even matter? why is that relevant? as a person who, like most everyone else, does a large portion of my socializing online, who moves and lives in online spaces, who is affected by the environments i move in
as an autistic person, seeing these dented head drooling memes makes me feel like shit. it makes me feel like the people that claim to be on our side are laughing at me behind my back
as a jewish person, continually seeing that "nordic chad" meme guy used to represent the "right" viewpoints is worrying
why can people not just have some empathy and compassion here? this is not unique to me
you can be funny without relying on fascist 4chan memes. just please try

the reason 99% of this website has “no terfs” in their descriptions and yet transmisogynist ideas run so rampant is that almost no cis lgb people on this website know actually what transmisogyny is and what terfs actually want.
like you see thousands of those annoying “respect trans women juice” and no actual thinking about what it actually means. and i think that’s partly because of the name we use - trans exclusionary radical feminists. what does being “trans exclusionary” means ? the problem of terfs isn’t that they “exclude” trans women, it’s what they think of trans women.
because… a lot of transmisogynists are trans ! usually some version of afab-non-binary-transmasc-adjacent-lesbian-or-bi. so when you call them terfs, they say they can’t be trans exclusionary, since they are trans. and they also reblog trans women’s donation posts or news about harassment, they usually don’t deny that trans women are women, they also protest the bathroom bill, they also criticize the gender binary system. so everyone cheers, and since terfs don’t do those things, it means they are ok.
but they still adhere to a worldview of “women and trans women”, so to speak. that trans women’s gender are “trans women”. that being a trans woman is in itself a particular position of gender. which means that they don’t include trans women butches when they talk about butches, for example. they don’t include trans women when they talk about women’s problems. trans women have their own problems, their own experience, that is distinct from women.
so, big news ! if you ever, in any case, use the words lesbian, butches, women, etc. and you don’t include trans lesbians, trans butches and trans women in this discussion, then you’re a transmisogynist. that’s it ! saying “no terfs” isn’t enough. you need to include trans women in your worldview, in your feminism, in how you talk about women, all the time, and not only when talking about trans issues. anything else will get you a bunch of crypto-terfs followers.
